So, I'm making this a discussion thread to prevent it from getting lost in the comments, and make it easier to discuss this possibility.

Found out that having this mod and another mod Protogen Redux adds integration support for it. However theirs has bounty support whereas this one does not, noticed it causing problems failing to spawn protogens properly.

I have found some forum posts that discuss this, although I'm not sure if they're up to date and haven't had experience making any mods for Starbound myself. I did however find this resource, with help and thanks to the Protogen Redux's mod dev pointing this out to me. Wish I could help here if possible, only able to share what I have found out for this.
