The usual one as it is a normal battle. I.e. hang back in a battle formation and let them come to you. A few star destroyers up front, a carrier or two in the back with some support ships, and a few lancers an/or IPV1s against their small craft. Dont' move bevel there until you are sure you will also be able to have a fleet there 10-20 rounds after, when the attack comes. Bomb their shield generators with your bombers etc. just like any normal battle.

I had built a Golan 1 and an Imperial Mobile Support Station as part of the defenses. In addition, I had two Victory-1 class star destroyers(targeting hardpoints of big ships), 4 or 5 Arquitens(for targeting frigates first), 4-5 IPV-1 Patrol Craft and a couple of Gozanti Cruisers with Interceptors. And a single "sacrificial" Dreadnought.
And of course, what ever you get as part of the mission itself.

As for strategy, I was just hanging back behind the Golan with the long range firepower, the Dreadnought in front of it, and using the IPV-1 along with any bombers you have to take out enemy corvettes and targeting shield/engines on enemies. Dont let the enemies with proton bombs(Po'runga Destroyer) get close, as it will quickly kill whatever heavily armored ships and stations you have.

I just did this yesterday and just brought all the starting ships in that area to the Maw, as well as building a Tier 3 Space Station, a Golan 2, and a mobile support station and several research stations (both of which don't seem to spawn on the mission map).

I let the enemy engage the Golan 2 first then tried to pincer attack with Daala's ISD and a Venator. I tried to have the 2 Victories I had attack from behind the Golan but that didn't work great the they moved with the Venator.

Playing on Hard and I didn't have an issue with this mission, so you could probably spend less and get by just fine just don't try to tank the attack with Daala. Losing her is a loss condition
