I've been away, any key balance changes to watch out for?
The title mostly says it all, this has been my favorite EAW mod for quite a while, but I haven't played in a few years. Any key balance changes or elements of the meta to keep in mind?

I mostly play rebels, but dabble in imperial as well.

Uh, a few years is quite a while, you maybe played 2.8 last? 2.8 overhauled ground combat, 2.9 overhauled space, 2.10 was about the Black Sun so don't worry too much about that, 2.11 was mainly about our massive new map.

So the changes in 2.9 are the main thing for you to worry about and they were pretty sweeping, lots to learn there - just play around a bit, read unit descriptions and the new weapons guides in the mission log.

Overall meta hasn't changed too much for rebels though overall - use your heroes, try to get ackbar asap, stealth raid when you can, hit and run, etc.

I also was away for a while and i have a question. last time i played, i played the Rebellion and turned into the new republic. but i figured out that the new republic ground unit roaster was not yet overhauled like the rebellion ground troups and it was basically a down grade to the rebellion. is it still like this? or are the new republic ground troops now also overhauled like their predecessors?

We've done a little bit of work on them, there's some new units and I wouldn't call it a downgrade, but our proper NR era rework is yet to come.

Ah i see. and sorry if i called it downgrade. it was just a lack of better word. im not a native english speaker. anyway thanks for the answer.
