STAR WARS™ Empire at War: Gold Pack

Awakening of the Rebellion 2.11.9: Jump To Hyperspace
Overwhelming Rebellion MC-80 Independence Production
So, perhaps this is a bug, perhaps it is just bad luck, but when playing as the Empire in the Awakening of the Rebellion GC, the Rebellion is throwing an absolutely INSANE number of MC-80 Independence at me, at least one in every attacking fleet. Being a Dreadnought/Command-ship in its description, (and certainly living up to the title in effectiveness) I am wondering if the AI is meant to be able to access these ships so easily and so often. It feels as if every time I blow one up another is right behind it, meanwhile I can't hope to match that level of capitalship production. Aside from trying to hunt down their Space Tech level 2 station, which I can't seem to do while still maintaining a coherent defensive line, I'm at a loss for how I can possibly deal with these juggernauts in such overwhelming numbers.

What difficulty level are you playing at and what game week are you on? Also, how much of the galaxy does the rebellion control? If the AI has resources and production space, it will build things. The build cap on MC-80 Independences is 3. If the AI has the resources and production space, it will keep building them. Even if the AI didn't build them, it would just spam other ships which might even be worse/less interesting to fight.

If you are playing on hard or expert, the AI has increased income and decreased build times, so keep that it mind.

In short, unless you are very early in the campaign (ie. earlier than week 30 or so) or the rebellion has almost no territory, I don't think this is a bug.

In my experience being aggressive is the path to success in almost every GC. I always play on expert and follow your beginning strategy in regards to economic buildup, but I am VERY aggressive in consolidating my forces into 1 or 2 powerful fleets and taking very cost-effective engagements at the start of the game before the enemies can build up. In short, if youre having problem with deathball rebel fleets, dont let them get to that point. Crush their beginning forces with your advantage of having Vader and Oz ISDS with support ships.

As the empire you start in a really great position at the start. You have Coresant and a couple high income planets. At the very start of the game sell your Hypervelocity cannons and shield generators on coresant and kuat, and start building economic buildings on high income planets. Next group up vader and your other capital ships and be agressive in taking territory so that the AI does not have time to build up and you can crush their small fleets and space stations with your ISDs
