Choosing Starting Date does not have any effect for me (Just locked in 12 ABY ERA7)

I just want to play the Empire of the Hand on ERA 1, doesnt work, by starting a campaign, I start on 12ABY ERA 7 whatever I choose on start date menu, does anyone have a solution for this? also the famous ERA 3 with the Thrawn Campaign cant be played. I just want to play on the full galaxy map on 4ABY :(
