This mod introduces hostile (NPC) bandits into the game. Please be aware that the enemies in this mod are extremely dangerous, and provide an extent of challenges. Treat them as actual players when it comes to combat. You will need to relearn how to survive.

Bandit Spawning
Initially, a small groups of armed individuals with melee weapons appear in the world. Over time, much larger groups armed with handguns and rifles will arrive to take your head. In multiplayer on the other hand, this happens independently for each player. Newer players will have more so simple bandits attacking them, whereas long term players will have stronger bandits attacking them.

Bandit Customization
Some general customization is done via sandbox settings just like for any other mods.

Customization of bandit looks, weapons and spawn settings is now controlled by Bandit Creator which is a separate mod you need to subscribe to in order to make changes.

What you need to know about v2 version
  • Besides killing you, bandits can steal items from you base, sabotage your generators, vehicles or crops.
  • Bandits can destroy things: obstacles and furniture blocking their way, destroy doors and windows, destroy or remove barricades, naturally they can also simply open doors or gates.
  • They can have different extra traits which determine their extra skills
  • They carry different loot depending to their profession and skills
  • They will resupply with weapons or ammo from dead corpses and containers nearby.
  • Some of them rarely may bite you as a recently infected desperate individuals.
  • They don't know where you are until they see you or until they hear you.
  • They can shoot all weapons, including shotguns, revolvers or rifles with scopes, weapon range depends on weapon now.

Troubleshooting
There are no bandits
Do not turn off zombies in your world completely. Otherwise Bandits will not spawn. Turning off zombie respawn is ok.
Their spawning has a large random factor. But if they don't spawn for 5-7 consecutive days then something may be wrong.

IThere is too many bandits
Use Bandit Creator mod to tune the right amount for you.

its going to need another update because alot of the same problems are still there, if u need help with the coding there are alot of people that are proficient that can help you, make more options in the sandbox settings so the problems can be removed,

2. off screen attacks, bandits can and will shoot players off screen (without an icon warning) where the player cannot see the bandits. This can maybe be mitigated with the panning function, but still doesn't really give a player a reasonable chance of surviving given the problem 1.

3. there is potentially an issue with players being unable to see bandits due to housing / cars blocking the bandit models, where the bandits can shoot and kill players.

Ideally for our server we would remove the higher level bandits using these high powered weapons that can target off screen and kill players, but this doesn't seem to be an option - so we will have to remove this mod.

Any recommendations to solve this otherwise would be great. It is a great mod.

The spirit of this mod is awesome, and the mod itself is great. However there are some serious issues that we have encountered as the apocalypse has worn on in on our server - and we will now have to uninstall it.

The server is now over a month into the apocalypse, and the bandit mod is now spawning more difficult bandits (which is generally fine), but there are a few problems which we've encountered with the harder bandits with more powerful weapons and what seems to be much better aiming:

1. bandits being untargetable, some bandits simply cannot be targeted but they can still target other players (this includes when bandits are using shorter range weapons than the players, where they should be able to be targeted).

@Landscaper Hey, not yet, im anxiously waiting for a fix, i haven't got any input from anyone yet but i believe Slayer is doing his thing to fix this
