GalaxyFoxes EX

I'll be completely honest, I haven't had any drive to work on this mod since around March last year. I've had a few ideas since I originally started, but honestly, I don't feel any sense of accomplisment working on this anymore.
Honestly, ever since the whole debacle with Chucklefish and the allegations of not paying the people that worked on Starbound, I just haven't felt any joy in playing, or even being associated with the game. It just feels... I dunno, off, somehow. I might continue work on this, but for the moment this mod is as-is.
This should be quite a bit more stable than the old version, since PK and I basically redid everything mostly from scratch on Starbound 1.4. For obvious reasons, the two versions of GalaxyFoxes are incompatible with each other, and I doubt anything will work if both are loaded at the same time. But for the sake of people that want the old version of the mod, I'll leave it up for them. For similar reasons, characters made with the old GalaxyFoxes most likely won't work with EX and vice versa.

Thank you to everyone who supported us in any way. I might be back, who knows. But I wouldn't hold my breath.

This mod is best experienced with Futara's Fullbright Shader mod, as well as Zancuno's Armor Adapt, which this mod has limited compatibility with.
An additional note: I haven't really tested this mod with any of the massive mods like Frackin' Universe, Betabound, or mods of comparable size I don't exactly feel like waiting half of an eternity each time I test it.

What was once a feral race of incredibly adaptive Pokémon has taken a more humanoid form after thousands of years. Their ability to evolve through radiation was lost during this gradual shift, however. They have since found other ways to survive in the environments they used to naturally thrive in, such as making special armor and equipment tailored to their needs. They are some of the few remaining Pokémon in the universe after the destruction of Earth. Most have since turned to living peacefully among the stars where they may not be disturbed as they go about their lives. Others aspire to become heroes, gaining fame and notoriety among the cosmos. While a select few... Well, let's just say they go towards seeking more...

Created by a now mostly extinct group of races known collectively as the Aurorans, these beings are constructs of pure spirit energy in a mortal shell. In their initial creation, many colonies were formed, most of which later joined together to become the modern clans that endure even today. However, in the early days many wars broke out over just about anything; territory, supplies, and beliefs being the major ones. Though when the Terrene Protectorate stepped in, they were able to convince the major clan's leaders to agree on a treaty, which has endured since then. Eventually, these clans formed a collection of colonies and cities on other planets, with the central hub being a planet in the corner of the universe named "New Aurora". Though a large number of clans still keep to themselves, scattered across the stars. Many of these clans and cities nowadays have a more laid back attitude, living life as it comes. However, with Earth having been destroyed, and the Protectorate with it, there is no one to enforce the treaty, and the clans are all preparing for war once again...

The result of an experiment by the Miniknog, these blazing foxes are greatly distrusting of all other races, save the Elysians, as a result of the torment they endured. After mercilessly tearing through the space station that they were born in, they stole a handful of ships and took off to the stars, crashing soon after just out of range of the station's self-destruction. Though initially a small race, only consisting of a few dozen, and only able to flourish in warm climates, they have become abundant in number, and are now skilled travelers and nomads. Some have even been brought into the Terrene Protectorate, trained to better withstand the harsher climates that would kill them in a matter of moments. Though they still have a few drawbacks, one such issue being that they rely on technology to read to them, as they were created for combat, not literature.



Update [3/31/2024]: Should I properly return, future versions of this mod (as in, beyond 0.03) will be developed using OpenStarbound as a base. Some future versions may require it to get the full intended experience, but I intend for the mod to still be compatible with vanilla as a base. Should I add OpenStarbound exclusive features, I'll have a thread explaining the exclusive features and why they won't work in Vanilla.
