when i try to host Inshallah on a dedicated server and log in, it just says "No Entry "bin/config.bin/CfgMarkers.CFP_MARKER_AFGHANISTAN" please help

im having issues with the mod...at some point something happened and i got a bug and im stuck in the loading screen and are unable to restart the mission, im unsure about what to do, i tried to tinker with the mission files but i am unsure what im doing, is it possible for me to start over somehow? im not very tech savvy so i may need a detailed explanation

Im getting a bug where I cant talk to civilians, I can see them but cant interact, does anyone know where this bug could be stemming from? Everything is up to date

@hellfudge I haven't played Arma in quite some time, but when I did, I used to enjoy playing this op sometimes with the C2 mod by Mad Cheese, which lets solo players take more control over their grouped AI. The Advanced AI Command mod by Duda is pretty neat as well and could potentially work in tandem with C2, but I didn't really use it as much.

I tend to not recommend explicitly the use of outside mods, as they could maybe not be compatible anymore, but both might be worth checking out to see if it gives you some added immersion.

AI can use RPG's but again it's been awhile since I played so not sure what the state of vanilla AI is in Arma right now.

Thanks for answering. And excellent scenario! Btw, have you seen the insurgents ever try to use their RPGs against helis? It would be awesome to see them try :) Also any tips/play style suggestions to add immersion are welcome. Is it worth it to try to setup a 2-3 car patrol with AI for example?

@hellfudge the AI troops are more just there for support. It's up to the players to interrogate. The tasks are there for you to set up in the event you want to do something specific, rather than just patrolling. Intel reveals installations and enemy positions, but not specific targets. This is why I like to set up the HVT task myself when I want to do a more focused in and out op.

Do the AI troops do something to progress the mission or is it completely up to the player to interrogate etc.? How should I use tasks? Does intel reveal HVTs and then those can be set to task?

@Forest Beats if anything is broken, if it’s within my ability to fix (not another mod breaking things, etc) I will update the mission when needed.

At the moment, I am very busy IRL and do encourage people grab the PBO I linked below and edit it themselves if something is urgent or preferred.

So fixing broken stuff, most likely. Making massive changes or overhauls, no.

@HeroesandvillainsOS i am truly sorry for getting back to you this late... Today i tried one more time your mission and it seems it is not working still, however i could provide you with more in-depth information about the matter. May I get your email address? There are a couple of interesting phenomenons on this map and i reckon the map is broken not the mission.

As a matter of fact, the problem only occurs on dedi. Even the RPT file is showing weird behaviour. I just could not wrap my head around it why.

@Delfanboy I’ve seen this issue before, but with RHS. I don’t recall ever seeing it with other mods such as the ones this mission uses, but it is possible the bug is back. My recollection is, this was only an issue on a dedicated server? Is that the case here? Does it all work when in LAN or SP or the editor?

@mitchrandell unfortunately recruited AI are not persistent. Only the human players. I recommend saving near a base so you can recruit more when you continue your mission.

Loving this mission so far however, when I save and exit whilst out in the field with a squad I don't seem to respawn with any of the squad members? Was just wondering if this is supposed to happen or not?

Great afternoon good sirs, @HeroesandvillainsOS.
I really am liking your mission and it is working great in LAN. I figured i try to make a dedicated server and turn on HC later on to check if the performance is any better. Ultimately i would like to play with my small group of friends so making a server is fundamental either way. Thus far the game plays 20+ fps more than previously, however i don’t know whether the different mod list or the server itself causes the problem, but the game no longer recognize the 1st and the 2nd UH80s as combat support options, nor i could talk to the pilots. Only the 3rd UH80 is present.
I have a pretty lengthy mod list to begin with, however for the sake of tests i only activated the mods you recommended for this mission.

P.S: By LAN, i mean LAN session created within Arma server browser, not dedicated server.

Hey guys could you give me any tips on how to get better server fps?
Server specs:
AMD EPYC™ 7702 6 Cores
(max. 3,35 GHz )
32GB DDR4 ECC
800 GB SSD
When playing this mission, the server fps drops down to around 10.

@Nicotin ALiVE does have an Artillery Logistics module if you want to unpack the PBO and add it, but I don’t believe I added any artillery or mortar support by default.

The mortars you see are probably either AI walking over to and manning some empty ones I may have placed at the bases, or perhaps CFP (or some AI mod you might be using?) is having regular units pull out mortar kits.

Small question: Is it possible to use mortar/artillery as support?
The starting base has a mortar crew, but I can't seem to call in mortar strikes.
The same when I call in mortar teams using logistics.

Ok, my missions should work now. Still might be some script errors coming from CFP, but nothing serious from what I can tell. You should not get stuck loading into the ops anymore. If it continues let me know.

Question, every time I try to start this mod, I sit at a black screen telling me can't connect to the positioning system and cant spawn. Tells me team mates alive is 0/0 and respawn is disabled.
Any suggestion on what I am doing wrong?

I think my game dosent save. When I exit it there only stands "abort". When entering the game again, it seems like it is a restart instead of a continue of the previous save.

@The-Sodbuster I don't think there should be any parameters to edit. The mission is what it is. But Admin Actions should work, especially when hosted locally because you don't even need to login as Admin. Are you pressing the ALiVE Menu key? Sometimes it takes a minute for Admin Actions to show up after the mission starts. Not super long but sometimes a minute or so. The ALiVE Menu key is what takes you to Admin Actions, along with Commander Actions, CS Support and various other stuff.

If someone can download my mission, and run it, that would be a good test that things are working. I don't know what caused the ALIVE errors. I don't know what caused A3 to stop working. My last upload, it worked flawless. Only thing that has changed is the arma 3 patches since then. I can't really tell where the issue is. If I have time, I'll make video to show.

@Oscar Juliet are the errors you’re getting in a fresh ALiVE mission the same as the one in your previously made op, where civs eventually stop spawning? Do you happen to recall the error that happens in the fresh mission?

When you say in your old mission, it worked fine in the first try but not in the second, was the second try after loading a persistent save? Are these errors caused by the revive mod?

I do believe an ALiVE update is likely coming. If you can provide detailed info, I can pass it along (though the ALiVE Discord would be a good spot to run past people too). That said we can’t do anything with errors caused by outside mods such as the revive mod.

Mod free, on default, fresh alive build, I was getting script errors from alive. The random text on screen that fails to go away. On my mission, I played the first play through just fine, then the next got script errors related to Civ spawns. Then civs quit spawning.

Also, A3 revive I implemented in my mission, it all use to work, but now the AI, even without AI mods, refuse to come heal. Often the medic symbol would get stuck and the AI would in your squad would freeze. They also quit responding to orders.

I've been messing with arma on and off for a bit lately. I'm certain something is just broken right now. A lot of the mods haven't been updated in forever. I don't have time to beta test for them. People have lost interest I guess. Especially AI mods. Though VCOM is going to get an update. It is in progress.

@Oscar Juliet It's been a bit since I launched Arma, but I did just now just to see and I was able to launch this mission in the editor and mess around for around 20 mins with no errors.

I think we do have an update planned though. Not sure what issues you're having, but at least on my end, this op is running without any obvious errors even without an ALiVE update.

Well it seems like Alive is not working properly. I even started one from scratch using default Arma units and it won't function right. Getting errors. Seems like a lot of mods don't work after so many updates to the game.

@10000 DEAD JIANS I'm really not sure why respawn wouldn't work with OPFOR. Wish I could help here but I've never tried it.

Not to take away from this, my edits added some extras, including the a3 revive. I have been away from the mission for a while. Might update it again since CFP added more units. I love this mod and give all credits to Heroes&VOS.

The CAS thing seemed to have fixed itself, but now I'm trying to add a one player slot OPFOR thing for a PvP twist. I've got most of it done (Put the loadout manager, AI recruitment, even vehicle spawning) but the only problem I'm experiencing now is putting a spawnpoint for OPFOR or the East side. I've tried to emulate the respawn_west markers by putting down a respawn_east marker, but it does not seem to work. I also fiddled with the description.ext but I only set the previous value for the respawn (3) to (4). Basically, how do I define a custom, exclusive spawnpoint for the OPFOR side? And as much as possible, how do I make it as vanilla as possible for them?

@shi4stone823 I agree a winning condition would be great. I tried to implement one once, having a trigger fire when all enemies (virtual and spawned) were dead but it was firing mid-mission. Unfortunately adding a win condition is out of my ability range.

@|>BLACKOUT<| What’s you’re question. I’m not on much these days though. If it’s urgent or intricate I’d ask over on the ALiVE forums or discord channel.

Regarding the Greek music, that’s probably an oversight or limitation from one of our ALiVE devs. Music gets added to building types with triggers. One Greek-like building that isn’t clearly a desert building was probably placed and got this sound attached. Nothing I can do about it.

Great mission! i learned my basics on Alive from this one years back. Just curious if you know how to implement a winning condition on top, or some kind of "political will" points that goes up and down per your action and can be spent to recruit troops? That would be my ultimate dream for an alive solo mission

@Porte at the moment I really only plan to update if something becomes horribly broken. Regarding the AI revive, I agree that would be amazing, but I’ve always been hesitant to add anything like it because of potential conflicts that could break the mission. It’s also a bit more complicated because any AI revive system would need work for recruited AI that you recruit during the mission.

That said, feel free to add any mods or scripts that offer AI revive and see how they work for you.

On the mortar/arty topic, that’s a cool idea. I can’t really think of a way to do this though. 3CB is the only faction mod I can think of that has a system of assembling tubes out in the field, but I don’t intend on changing from CFP at this stage.
