Thanks for trying! Hopefully, some day we will have it working.

I fully agree. The computer cheats like heck and does that. Sadly, that cannot be done with the engine that the game is running on. The monk unit would have to basically be converted into a normal troop and new AI functions added for all of the monk skills. If I could add a new unit with monk skills that uses the same back end functions of a ranged unit I would, and have tried multiple times.

It would be nice to have an attack-move stance for the monks, in which to try to convert units and buildings in their path, just like normal troops try to attack troops and buildings in their path.
That would be great because it seems the AI does that. Sadly that would require a full codeing new class/stance set/and such. I'd love to do that but I am not that good 😣
U.E. 18 Sep, 2018 @ 11:42am
idea for automatic monk conversion the same as the AI does, as if it would have an offensive stance but instead of attacking, the monk starts converting enemy units within its range

How is the "attack move" bugged?

My friend made 350 villagers and started attacking with those. Problem was that they did not find any targets on their own, like the military units do. So just any way to make them able to do that would be awesome! :)

If villagers were to have stances it would remove their building interface. I'll have to test to see if the hotkeys would still work for building. I will get back to you on an answer if that is feasiable or not.
as of right now "attack move" is bugged anyway so no one should be using it.
do you mean that you want villagers to have attack stances as well?
Dragonlord 6 Aug, 2017 @ 10:17am
Mod request! Attack-move for villagers! I think most players would love that :D
here is the link to the mod you requested TiMe 3RaSeR : http://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=963919255

@TiMe 3RaSeR
It's up!
Dragonlord 29 Jun, 2017 @ 6:49pm
That's SO cool! :D Thanks! I hope it's not too much effort!

Thanks for the input, Sally! :D

I have a third idea on how to do it, just in case it might me helpful. Maybe it's easier to make the monks able to train units like the barracks can? Except the monks would have to stand near a corpse that gets removed (if that is even possible). Of course the skeletons would be free, or cheap as dirt.
Raelius 29 Jun, 2017 @ 1:08am
Idea for necromancy mod (since I'd love to see that too): since it's probably difficult to properly have monks reanimate the corpses, maybe they could just instantly restore all the HP of a unit when it reaches 1 HP and then you could change it to look like a zombie after it's healed? Someone used to have a unit skin on here that changed men-at-arms to skeleton swordsmen and it was perfect--and could've been perfect for this.
TiiMe 28 Jun, 2017 @ 7:56pm
YESSSS! Thank you so much!
ok, that time was set to 15,000. I will change those times for you and upload that new corpse and monk mod together. Look for it tomorrow (Due to i have to go in and change every troop in the game).
TiiMe 28 Jun, 2017 @ 7:49pm
I really just want this mod to be able to work like the persistant corpses mod, as we can only host multiplayer games with one data set (mod) as of now, and i really don't want to choose between this awesome mod and persistant corpses...
YuenHsiaoTieng  [author] 28 Jun, 2017 @ 7:38pm
lol necromancer monks wouldn't be a whole lot less realistic than converting the enemy mid battle.
i have tried the persistant corpses. It is so hard to see your troops after a few min with all of the dead bodies on the field. I can set the decay time to what ever you want on the dead corpses. Ummmm..... not sure how to make new troops or how to make new spells (as of yet). When i know how to do that i will make you your necro mod.
Dragonlord 28 Jun, 2017 @ 9:48am
Ok, cool. I'll get my friends to subscribe to the mod as well then!

Do you think you could make a necromancy mod? Just by giving the monks the ability to summon skeleton warriors from corpses? With the basic spearman stats. Also arrows can't penetrate a skeleton (no flesh) so they would slow moving spearmen with really high pierce armor. Really weak to infantry.

TiiMe 28 Jun, 2017 @ 12:01am
Please make this compatable with persistant corpses
yes you can, but everyone needs to be using the same data set to join your game.
Dragonlord 26 Jun, 2017 @ 2:16pm
Can you use this in regular multiplayer games?
AlonSoider 25 Jun, 2017 @ 8:49am
finally i can have them in one place instead of chasing women to "convert" them.
mightyedge 25 Jun, 2017 @ 3:33am

Mabye the monk has Manic issues and can't stand still. Most religious leaders are.
let me know if you want more changed or if anything does not work. :steamhappy:
Raelius 20 Jun, 2017 @ 6:44pm
Sweet! Gonna test it tonight!
Raelius 20 Jun, 2017 @ 6:24pm
lol! I was wondering what the "poto" part was! Happy playing/modding!
hahaha, my friends call me Mr. Potatoman and I know Japanese. So, Pototami was born (potatoman looking all Japanese).

Potatoman Pine tree it is.
Raelius 20 Jun, 2017 @ 6:02pm
Thanks very much, "[something] people pine tree!" lol (Been trying to translate your name, as I'm learning Japanese.)
sure thing. I'll fix that for you and post it and send you a link to your steam mail. look for it tomorrow.
Raelius 20 Jun, 2017 @ 5:57pm
Actually, I already described everything I'd want lol: just to switch the stone and fortified wall appearances with each other. Thanks!
I haven't done anything to this mod other than fixing the monk to "stand ground". if you want the wall stuff and what not let me know what you want done. I'll make that mod for you.
Raelius 20 Jun, 2017 @ 5:49pm
This looks helpful. Thanks! I've been looking for a purely cosmetic mod that changes the fortified walls to stone walls and vice versa. I know that someone else does that kind of thing with units, but since you mentioned walls in this post I thought I'd ask here.
YuenHsiaoTieng  [author] 20 Jun, 2017 @ 4:21pm
@star of the west
I think there's already an existing mod that graphically replaces champions with legionaries if that's what you mean.
Star of the West 20 Jun, 2017 @ 11:28am
Not historically accurate, but can you make it so everyone gets legionaries? aka, subbing in legionaires for champions and two-handed swordsmen?
Thanks Zarah. Yuen and I have been asking the devs for a fix for this troop for a long time. Finally took matters into our own hands and are now making mods to try and fix some of the issues.:steamhappy:
YuenHsiaoTieng  [author] 19 Jun, 2017 @ 4:19pm
@zara witchcraft
I've suggested this several times in the forums without once getting a response from the devs. We'll all just have to speak up louder. Pototami (OP) and I found a quick and dirty way to give monks a stand ground option for now, but it's not perfect. The monks still take a couple of steps before they remember they had orders to stand the fudge still.
Zarah Witchcraft 19 Jun, 2017 @ 12:24pm
This is great. How and where can we suggest this and other things in a list of what the community would like to see the developers add to future patches?
