Nice chamber! I liked the use of the Franken cube! I found a small shortcut: the Franken button behind the lasers can be pressed if you stand very close to the laser.

Merci Myr. Je jette un oeil à ta nouvelle.

Thank you very much stormsend!

I thought the way you used the sphere was way cool. Three separate uses and then I carried it around for a while. Duh. My frankencube was on drugs. He kept getting lost on the way to the button. Caught him and restarted a couple times but had to respawn once. I'm glad you put that companion cube where you did. I couldn't get up on the panel without it. The best part was the light bridge though. Took me a few tries to get it right, then I was an expert. I must say the initial look into the chamber was a little daunting with all those buttons but they worked out perfectly and I wouldn't change that. I smile now at the thoughts that were running through my head when I first saw them. Overall, a great map/puzzle.

I know. when this happens, as I said, if the the author.
not you, goes to the map editor & publshes it again, it is normaly solved.
then & only then, will unsubscribing & resubscribing, have any effect.
it may happen to your map later.
it has happened to a couple of mine, that previously appeared in the list & played fine.
as for our maps being in the puzzle folder, thankyou for this information :)
daloboy  [author] 22 Dec, 2012 @ 4:55am
Thanks Aarvark64! I think that's the folder I copied from one pc to the new already. I'll look it up.

@daloboy I've noticed that a few authors have lost the source files for their chambers when Portal had to be re-installed for some reason. In case you didn't know these are held in the Puzzles folder which can be found deep within the Steam folder in Program Files.
It's a good idea to keep a backup of this Puzzles folder on an external drive.

@mood3rd Thanks for that info however I was actually referring to the problem I keep having where other author's chambers, in this case 3 of daloboy's, seem to subscribe as normal but then never appear in my queue which means I can't ever play them.
Unsubscribing and then subscribing again has no effect.
I've only published one chamber myself as yet and I had no problems with that.

without pc problems the maps that won't add to the list.
can normaly be solved, by the aurthor going into the editor & without altering anything,
selecting publish, as they did the 1st time.
this glitch / bug happens with maps previously adding to the list without a problem.
if a map does not add to the list on the 1st attempt at publishing.
you may have to remove items or antlines, to publish it.
I hope you find this helpfull in the future :)
daloboy  [author] 20 Dec, 2012 @ 4:42pm
Thanks Aarvark64! Glad your looking at my work!
For the download problem: yes, some maps don't work. And sorry, but I changed my pc, so I can only update No 18 and up!
Aardvark00 20 Dec, 2012 @ 5:32am
Very good map, fun to do. I hadn't seen the light bridge sequence before so I enjoyed working that out. I had no problems with the sphere paths, all worked well for me. I also took the cube with me and agree with mood3rd that it should be needed for exit instead of just a button press.

I'm trying to do your maps in sequence but some of them refuse to add to my queue when I subscribe them, this has happened with a few others also. That's why I've missed out on your numbers 3, 4 and 5. Has this happened to anyone else? Anyway, cheers and on to the next :)

Thanks mood3rd! Downloaded yours.

good map.
from the entrance, it looked daunting.
lots of buttons & areas, with no visable way to get to them. good effect.
the light bridge was good. lucky for me, I have seen before.
could not see what a lot of the buttons & gates / switches did, but it worked.
good use of panels & stairs. comes together well,
but timing to get sphere onto button past panels, took many goes.
once, it even fliped the sphere to my area.
it often hit side of the button, but not on it. (maybe slight re-design here ? perhaps faithplate would be a little lower & easier to hit ? it could fire sphere to button, with precision accuracy.)
your map your choice.
but did it in the end.
killing turrets, always good.
nice route after laser field down, took cube to exit area. perhaps a use here for the cube ?
good fun.

please try, rate & comment on my map:

daloboy: Many thanks! I feel so special... Yup, works perfectly :-)
Simply getting out of the room with the mesh floor wasn't the problem for me, but the only way I found to get to the other side of the laser field for the exit involved getting up on to one of the angled panels, following the path round and dropping down the shaft. If there's another way, I need to keep testing :-)
daloboy  [author] 18 Sep, 2012 @ 6:29am
Done! Please try!
daloboy  [author] 18 Sep, 2012 @ 6:13am
Sleepyhead:a secret just for you... you can bend down (CTRL) and exit under the angled panels but I'll add a button just for you!
Sleepyhead 17 Sep, 2012 @ 3:03pm
daloboy: *I* needed it :-) - without the companion cube to stand on, I couldn't get from the mesh floor on to the angled panel. Now the Frankencube I didn't use... :-) Always a pleasure to play your maps - I'm looking forward to trying 3, 4 & 5 when Steam lets me (they've disappeared from my list but are still marked as subscribed...)
daloboy  [author] 17 Sep, 2012 @ 10:52am
Sleepyhead: about the companion cube, you don't need it! It's just a free friend in a deserted, cold and empty space Thanks for testing!
Sleepyhead 13 Sep, 2012 @ 10:22pm
The order took a little working out at first, but I liked it :-) There *is* currently a problem with not being able to replace the companion cube if you lose it from the appropriate area though; maybe another button is needed :-)
daloboy  [author] 13 Sep, 2012 @ 8:13pm
You're right: I like buttons to much! I'll work at it again gladly. Thanks.
Clericopter 13 Sep, 2012 @ 7:14pm
Firstly, the good. Quite a few nice ideas and ... unique ... ways of using testing elements. I especially liked changing light bridge height via portal orientation and walking the frankenturret to the wall button. But the layout is really confusing. I wasn't even sure how I got some of the items, and you've got so many buttons with unclear functions that (1) there are symbols I've never seen before, and (2) half the matching pairs aren't visible.

I'd recommend much less clustering of items, and try to use fewer of them in general. Especially the buttons ... my god ... the buttons ...

(As a final note, I haven't checked, but I'm pretty sure you can get stuck by losing a cube or two in some places.)

Warbear: The secret of the lightbridge: do a portal from one side of it, then try from the other side...
Warbear 10 Sep, 2012 @ 5:48pm
I tried this map. I tried to jump from the start to the first floating block, but fell short. There didn't seem to be any way to get to the pedestal buttons on top of the floating things, or to get anywhere else in the map, because there is only one place to put the lightbridge.
