Cant see a single thing in this even with the brightness all the way up.

Burd, love the mission and see that you've recently updated it. Been playing it in SP since the update and noticed a glitch with the glider at airfield 2. Unlike the glider at airfield 1 it doesn't detatch properly when the player reaches the coast and the player ends up stuck following the C-47s.

Also, on the comments that people are having that the map is sparse allies wise- the game puts out a faction about a lack of support groups when the mission starts, and all Allied units who are supposed spawn in through Alive appear in the virtual AI but never actually spawn on the battlefield. The player can see their virtual icons moving or engaging in combat, but they don't physically exist, or sometimes will get stuck unable to move at all. Furthermore, there are times they do briefly appear physically, but then the units will instantly despawn and get stuck in an infinite loop spawning in and spawning out.

Hey Burdy, just out of interest how did you get the AI gliders to work properly? I've tried them and they seek to land at an airfield even when there is none.

I'm realizing now that the night in this mission is utterly moonless, however the actual night drop prior to D-Day was done under a full moon, adjusting the date in the editor to a later date produces a more realistic lighting situation, there must be a problem in the moon phase calculation somewhere.

Is this mission excessively dark to anybody else? I have adjusted various brightness/gamma settings both ingame and on my monitor and everything is always pitch black. I don't mind fighting in low light but my screen is literally pitch black in all situations that don't contain fire or muzzle flashes, and even then visibility is near nil. The preview screenshots here on the workshop do not look like this.

Long long time since I've worked on this mission. I noticed the AI jump thing, I can give that a look. The AI spawning thing @magicbass seems to be an ALIVE thing- I tried it recently and it worked for me.

@hotshot It exists but that's an ALIVE thing. Unfortunatley the allies tend to drop the ball quickly from time to time and that's outside of my control. I also don't believe the AI is capable of revival.

And: is there no "AI commander" (meaning AI squads, armor, ...) that are working along side me? I've seen one or two friendly squads at the beginning, but nothing else since; and now the enemy is attacking with tanks

My group played this three months ago and played through perfectly. Today we played it again and once the planes were in the air there were about four ALiVE errors. And throughout the rest of the mission neither the US or German ai were moving around or behaving correctly.

Is this mission still being worked on? I've been having some fun with it but getting the AI to jump out of the 47s is a problem. An old comment mentioned Jump packs but they don't seem to still be in the mission

I got in a glider with my squad but I wasn't able to pilot it or detach it from the c-47 towing it until the c-47 despawned out of the playable area. Did I do something wrong?

@Burdy, I have checked and the mission is playing through at normal speed. 10 minutes from the mission start the planes set off and the initialization screen loads. Once that screen clears the plane which i have boarded explodes over the sea/water

Help please, everytime I try play this mission the plane explodes during the initialisation screen and kills my player. How can I fix this, really want to play this mission. Thanks in advance :)

@German Croisdale - I'm going to work on the mission tonight. What I may do is make it so when you're boarding the planes, only the jumppack variants can be recruited and vice versa

@German Croisdale - They should automatically when the light turns green. If they dont, make sure you recruit the airborne variant with the jump packs on at the flagpole (which are the doubled units on the bottom of the recruit list).

@chughes_1762 - Ah I remember why. You need the US Radio Backpack on in order to have access to the C2ISTAR. Forgot about that

@Burdy - I am logged in as admin. However, I am not given the option to bring up the commander screen as usual. I am given 3 options. Player, Admin, and Module. There is no C2ISTAR or something of that nature to bring up the commander's tablet, or am I missing an ALIVE update and some key to bring this up?

So the ability to save works very normally, but the result of loading, so far at least, is very buggy. I totally get it if you don't have time to trouble-shoot this for the SP people, but I'd be happy to keep giving you details and doing QA/QC+ for you if you want the help! I'm going to add you on here so we can do this by PM or discord so long as you're down.

Interesting. So I finally tried my first "load" not too long after landing in France (maybe 10 minutes of play time in France?) I only have a single save that I made *after* landing, and the other 2 test saves I made *before* landing work fine. Will keep testing, but it seems that saves made after the departure from England may be corrputed. More coming. Thanks again anyways bro!

Jesus dude. Gonna try it out now. You're the man! Btw, if you need any help with anything, I am eager to get into modding for this game, and have experience with other games, but am open to learn whatever it takes for this one. I'm late to this game in particular, but currently quite obsessed. Hit me up if you want to have someone to do some of the grunt work for now, in hopes that I can learn some of the more helpful stuff in the future. Buet yeah, time to try it out in SP now. @17_irons - Saving being disabled in single player is an ALIVE thing (due too the high amounts of memory it requires, the game will usually crash). Saving works great in multiplayer w/ the ALIVE war room.

A workaround to this (which I recommend, as you get better performance), is running the mission through a locally hosted dedicated server that only you have access to, and then when you're done, save via the ALIVE war room.

But regardless of what I just posted above, I will update the mission momentarily and enable single player saving - so if you want to test if it works with the 64 bit Arma client, let me know what the results are.

So just curious here... I'm trying to play in single player but it seems saves were disabled? Is there a workaround for this or was this intentional? (what an incredible mod regardless btw! thanks) If there is some way to enable saving that would be incredibly helpful as I've got a bit of a busy and crazy household!

@BladesofWoe - Right. Thanks for the heads up. This was an oversight on my part. I accidently left the script which launched the planes from the airfield on an extremely low countdown from when I was testing. That's why the countdown meter wasn't synced with what was happening, nor with the planes themselves. Fixed and updated - you should be all good to go now.

Hi,
I don´t get it to work. When starting game this message comes over:

snow_obj_snow no longer exists

All required lmods are loaded
