IFA3 : The Night of Nights (ALIVE)

Description
UPDATED 05.10.23

The Night of Nights : An 'open world' SP/COOP/Multiplayer depiction of the actions of the 101st Airborne from the early hours of June 6th until X.

FEATURING :
* ALIVE (which allows for combat consisting of over 500 AI)
* Custom ALIVE index of Omaha_v2
* Dynamic weather
* Accelerated clock depicting multiple days of combat
* AI recruitment
* Heavy randomization
* Pre-drop simulation - experience the night before
* Various scripts to help enhance the atmosphere, such as the possibility of losing your weapon on the drop
* Gliders
* JIP Compatibility

KNOWN ISSUES :
* The red/green light's from the 47's do not work properly in dedicated servers due to an issue with the mod. Should work fine locally hosted (for the host, anyway).
* Occasionally the AI will bug out and you will die during the pre-drop initialization. This has proven to be pretty uncommon, however.

Cant see a single thing in this even with the brightness all the way up.

Burd, love the mission and see that you've recently updated it. Been playing it in SP since the update and noticed a glitch with the glider at airfield 2. Unlike the glider at airfield 1 it doesn't detatch properly when the player reaches the coast and the player ends up stuck following the C-47s.

Also, on the comments that people are having that the map is sparse allies wise- the game puts out a faction about a lack of support groups when the mission starts, and all Allied units who are supposed spawn in through Alive appear in the virtual AI but never actually spawn on the battlefield. The player can see their virtual icons moving or engaging in combat, but they don't physically exist, or sometimes will get stuck unable to move at all. Furthermore, there are times they do briefly appear physically, but then the units will instantly despawn and get stuck in an infinite loop spawning in and spawning out.

Hey Burdy, just out of interest how did you get the AI gliders to work properly? I've tried them and they seek to land at an airfield even when there is none.

I'm realizing now that the night in this mission is utterly moonless, however the actual night drop prior to D-Day was done under a full moon, adjusting the date in the editor to a later date produces a more realistic lighting situation, there must be a problem in the moon phase calculation somewhere.

Is this mission excessively dark to anybody else? I have adjusted various brightness/gamma settings both ingame and on my monitor and everything is always pitch black. I don't mind fighting in low light but my screen is literally pitch black in all situations that don't contain fire or muzzle flashes, and even then visibility is near nil. The preview screenshots here on the workshop do not look like this.

Long long time since I've worked on this mission. I noticed the AI jump thing, I can give that a look. The AI spawning thing @magicbass seems to be an ALIVE thing- I tried it recently and it worked for me.

@hotshot It exists but that's an ALIVE thing. Unfortunatley the allies tend to drop the ball quickly from time to time and that's outside of my control. I also don't believe the AI is capable of revival.

And: is there no "AI commander" (meaning AI squads, armor, ...) that are working along side me? I've seen one or two friendly squads at the beginning, but nothing else since; and now the enemy is attacking with tanks
