I enjoy this story. The begining with the rat ghost was difficult to understand but after that it all good.

Well done dev its a good story, little sad but a good story.

Nice to notice there are some creators who have created these in all three shadowrun games :O

Kinda wonder if I should ever try to learn it myself and give it a try, but first I have to actually have time to play more mods

This was an interesting story. I enjoyed it, though it seemed a bit non-lore bound. That's ok. It was very rail-bound with very little exploration or anything, but given the type of story it was, that didn't bother me a great deal.

As for melee characters in endless wastelands with no cover, i used some throwing knives and had exactly zero issues.

The main issue I have is with the ending. It just made... no sense at all, and the epilogue was a bit "well... okay I guess." Other than that, it was a fun romp.

I can handle typos and poor storytelling, but when you give me a melee character and tell me to sprint through an endless wasteland of no cover against air elementals with AP damaging basic attacks more accurate than any sniper rifle, yes, I'm going to get upset. Forcing stunlock so a player can watch his character die for the fifth time in a row with no hope of things getting better is not a good way to get positive feedback.

Even if this story is closer to open-ended general-purpose sci-fi than HBS shadowrun spirit and this alternation of casual point & click and run for your life phases can be confusing in this genre, some comments are rather severe imho. I really enjoyed this campaign.
Rammur 28 Mar, 2019 @ 5:20am
wow buncha hatefull entitled ass be happy people make mods for this game for free even they are not damn game developers they do as a hobby no need to be dick heads no need to review their mods like you would a AAA game.
Dasubur 25 Mar, 2019 @ 7:14pm
This UGC really needs to slow down, the plot points are all stumbling over each other to get out the door and the story keeps introducing characters like you know who they are, except they are never explained who they were. it starts strong but quickly spirals into insanity, needed more time in development.
Vorpal Spoon 10 Oct, 2018 @ 11:02am
@MA1 Gemsback-Glad I read this and avoided another trainwreck created by Mole. I unfortunately I played through Molefixer's Darkness Falls series. Should have been titled "Derpish Fails" since that was abysmal...
M9A1 Gernsback 21 Jun, 2018 @ 1:26pm
Ugh. Typos. Spelling. Missing punctuation.
Looooong monologues. Story all over the place.
Huge areas with nothing of value.
And it all ends on a double cliffhanger with no explainations.

Geee...

Word of advice for the guy who played through the whole thing.
DON'T. SUBSCRIBE.

(P.S. Dear author. Yes, sorry, this is negative feedback, but it is what it is. :avapout:)

Sry for spam

Ps. I've started again final mission, as Biggs this time. It's correct ?
geraltzrivii 24 Jan, 2018 @ 10:33pm
Strange behaviour - I've started epilogue, as Biggs, but instead lay bed I use lift, and start new map. Still Biggs. But in news area they call me Strife, and I've talked with Suzie about my brother..
Wraith 23 Dec, 2017 @ 3:48pm
Story is actually very good, quite immersive, and q bit unique. Playing a character with high strength to begin with is a new one on this game. Unfortunately the story isn't finished and left me wanting to know more of the rest..... Still nice imagination and work to the creator. Hopefully we'll have the rest of the story (because now i can't sleep anymore as my mind keeps imagining the rest of the story.
DaveOfDeath 10 Dec, 2017 @ 4:40pm
Sorry, I just saw your follow-up question. The bug spirit fetish is with all the other fetishes... You may need to import it from 'Returns' as well as the spirit form character sheets.

The Aegis launcher is probably another 'must' import... Unless you're planning to build your own item with the insecticide method.
Pronoun Fistula 8 Dec, 2017 @ 11:03am
Just leaving a note here for the people wondering "does it get better?"
No, it doesn't.
Grahf 24 Nov, 2017 @ 10:34am
is this a continuation of your last UGC?
pitsukoro 21 Nov, 2017 @ 1:20am
Outstanding work again. I eagerly await the next chapter.

Hello molefixer nice UGC you made. Thank you for sharing.
Interesting story. Lot of open questions though, so you will have to continue it :)

Thank you! I'm glad you like it! :cybereye:

Great job with this one! I'm enjoying it very much. Thanks!
molefixer  [author] 27 Jul, 2017 @ 6:53am
Awesome! Thanks! I'll have to try that out. Just one question, what does a bug spirit fetish fall under in the editor? I don't recall seeing this one.
DaveOfDeath 26 Jul, 2017 @ 7:01pm
If you add the bug spirit fetish to the bugs character sheet they do still behave like they did back in DMS. You may need to import bug spirit character sheets though. (And the Aegis Launcher or create a new version if you want to go that route instead)
ebbpp 26 Jul, 2017 @ 5:18pm
Good to hear that there will be more, keep up the good work and thank you. Wishing you much peace, love and happiness.
molefixer  [author] 26 Jul, 2017 @ 3:17pm
There are plenty of things to find though. Chicago, for example, has a few items hidden around that can give you some good nuyen then spend on vendors.
What game ever has enough karma? :cybereye:
I appreciate the feedback! Glad you enjoyed the story.
molefixer  [author] 26 Jul, 2017 @ 3:17pm
The story is going to continue, but it may not be how I originally intended. I wanted to continue with Wedge and Biggs in Chicago with the bugs, but HK doesn't really support them. They are just like any other enemy as opposed to how they are in DMS or even the Dragonfall editor. No spirits emerge when you defeat them and no special weapons required to defeat them. Kind of a bummer, but I am still considering that angle. I am currently working on a couple more chapters to the story. I am adding to Coldplay as I see the need arise or I get new inspiration.
Depending on what skill sets you choose to add karma into you will find gear throughout the campaign suited to them, ex. spellcasting/Conjuring/Chi casting. Even if you don't want to use the items found they can be sold. It is geared more towards selling whatever you loot since you aren't on an actual paid mission.
ebbpp 26 Jul, 2017 @ 11:05am
Well it was quite refreshing expierience, to play as "Rambo" for a change. This mod is not finished yet, right? I'm asking as the end seems to be a cut of the story then actual end. There could be some improvements, more things to do, maybe more karma, some locations feels a bit empty, also there are many marchants around, but almost no money around. Generally story was intresting, and expierience was positive.

You are toast 12 Jul, 2017 @ 11:23am
Really cool!
molefixer  [author] 5 Jul, 2017 @ 4:52pm
Thanks Starbuck! Im appreciate that. If you play Desert Wars know that when Belladonna approaches you in Seattle to turn her down. That mission is horribly bugged and I can't get the dragonfall to update to steam anymore. I am currently trying to update it for Hong Kong, but it seems to be having a lot of stability issues.
molefixer  [author] 5 Jul, 2017 @ 4:49pm
I'm going to guess you are talking about people in Chicago before you go to 3M? The whole idea was just to show that before the bugs flooded out onto the city that life was going about as it always had. Nobody was thinking about their very survival or how much the little things really matter. So I got on social media and just found some hot topics and posted them in conversations. I am wanting to continue with Chicago, but I am having a bit of writers block. However, I just want to show how much people will change in the before and after. Show how these petty things aren't important in comaprison to just being able to find food and shelter for your family when you are trapped in a living hell.

@|CB| Pimz

Shadowrun is all about politics.
you are forced to react and take side(s), whether you agree or not with the modder's subtext (and remember it's just a game :))

thx again Mole, lately I've been replaying your other creations on Dragonfall
DrPimz 5 Jul, 2017 @ 5:13am
Could've done without your politics.
Crackerless 30 Jun, 2017 @ 10:51am
@Molefixer: Done, I didnt notice the space behind the airlock. Thanks.
DaveOfDeath 29 Jun, 2017 @ 6:10pm
Yeah, I didn't have a problem with the airlock. If he was seeing the options to open/close without the creature running loose, it could have been a glitch.
molefixer  [author] 29 Jun, 2017 @ 4:09pm
@Crackerless: I am not sure. I just ran through it and it is working properly. I ran to it, opened inner hatch then ran in and lured the monster to me. I ran out, closed the inner hatch and then opened the outer one. It all worked fine. @DaveofDeath, yes it is loose and it is explained a little after that. What options would be a glitch? Sounds like you did what was intended as far as destroying it goes.
DaveOfDeath 29 Jun, 2017 @ 2:28pm
Is the unkillable evil thing running loose? I lured it in, by standing in the open airlock, then ran out and flushed it, in a single turn. (Before it could follow me out.)

If it's not loose, I'm pretty sure seeing those options is a glitch. :)
Crackerless 29 Jun, 2017 @ 2:23pm
(SPOILER) Hello, cant do anything with airlock. "Open inner hatch" and "Close outer hatch" do nothing and in " Close inner hatch" menu can click only to "No" What I do wrong?? Can help me pls?
molefixer  [author] 28 Jun, 2017 @ 3:45pm
Thank you! I appreciate that!
CyanMentality 28 Jun, 2017 @ 1:20am
Thank you for taking the time to make this Molefixer :) You're very good.
molefixer  [author] 25 Jun, 2017 @ 2:54pm
Maybe I can explain it another way. If you have ever watched 2001 a space odyssey it would be like what happened to David Bowman. He became enlightened beyond anything we could ever possibly imagine and evolved beyond anything human although he could with great difficulty resume his human form for short periods. Another way to explain it may be if you have ever watched the G1 transformers. It would be like when Unicron changed Megatron into Galvatron. It is still him, but he is evolved way beyond what he ever was before...or even in Beast Wars when Optimus Primal changed into Optimal Optimus. It is still them, but the old them is only a fraction of what makes up the new them. Anyway, as far as Suzie goes I am still debating on what I am going to do with her, but Mitchell's storyline will continue for sure as will his brother's as long as eveything works for me. :dante:
kremlinkoa2 25 Jun, 2017 @ 7:27am
A little.
I do hope Zero and Suzie return tho.
molefixer  [author] 23 Jun, 2017 @ 5:08pm
Make no sense? With Billy and Julian you mean? That is an epilogue showing that I am still working on the story if that is what you mean. Just shows that despite what happens to the Zero and Suzie that they are still there. As long as everything works right I intend to continue with the story. If you mean the scene before that it shows that you are reduced to energy and left to travel the cosmos, but eventually feel something pull you back. Due to what happened dealing with the monolith though you are something entirely different that you were before. Hope that helps explain it better.
kremlinkoa2 23 Jun, 2017 @ 9:49am
Is the ending supposed to make no sense?
molefixer  [author] 3 Jun, 2017 @ 5:44pm
I couldn't for the life of me figure out what you were talking about. I have a new laptop running windows 10 and it keeps giving me compatability issues with the editor. I couldn't find the area you were referring to so I changed it over to one of my older laptops running windows 7 and now I it shows up. I am updating it now. It wasn't even an option before so I really couldn't figure out where you were coming from. I learned something new about the editor and another issue with windows 10. Thanks!
DaveOfDeath 3 Jun, 2017 @ 8:56am
The pop-up diologues are fine. What I'm talking about is the actual interaction... If you hover your mouse over the magnifying glass, it just says 'examine'. The tool text could be 'Examine' viewport', 'use terminal', 'climb down ladder' etc...

Just little things like that help quite a bit with the polished feel of your game.
molefixer  [author] 2 Jun, 2017 @ 11:20pm
I believe the interactions work fine given the amount of information I have given in other forms. Not everything requires a full conversation and I do have a lot of those.
molefixer  [author] 2 Jun, 2017 @ 11:20pm
Most of what you are talking about occurs in the first scene. The computers in the station give you a history of what is going on technically and gives you the research teams notes. I have placed things to observe so that you can both see and read about it. Technical issues the computer tells you about can be seen as you walk through so you know where these are located. Experiments that are told about can be observed. I gave all the history before I started giving observations during creation. I didn't want it to just be a bunch of reading. I wanted the player to be able to see what is being talked about. It is all very well described. However, if you have a specific question that isn't covered then I'll be happy to update that. If you are referring to the second scene then I will leave that one as it is for now. I left that one in mystery on purpose due to the nature of the place you are in.
DaveOfDeath 2 Jun, 2017 @ 11:54am
And the tool tips? So the hover over interactions are more descriptive?
molefixer  [author] 2 Jun, 2017 @ 10:06am
A little over 3 hours guestimated. I knew what I was doing since I made it and made it through in about 2.5 hours. Weird, most my interactions are set to disable after clicking them. I'll have to go back in and look at that to see what is going on with it.
