*All* of the Gyros...
𝙺𝟷𝙹® ~iwnl~ 8 Apr, 2024 @ 2:47pm
How many gyros? ^-^'
SuicideNeil  [author] 10 Apr, 2020 @ 3:13pm
@Gühnter- yeah, you ain't gonna finish that one, lol. Realistically, 600-800m long is about as big as you want to go for the very largest ships & even then you have to be careful with the level of detail; lots of curves and 'spikey bits' will quickly see you hit the maximum shape-limit of the game and you won't be able to build any more.
_Platzhalter_ 9 Apr, 2020 @ 12:17pm
This is a realy awesome ship you made there but F my life what have I done.
I am currently building a carrier and I think I made it a little bit to big.
The hangar bay is only to 1/3 finished and I can stack your ship two times in there.
SuicideNeil  [author] 3 Jun, 2019 @ 8:37pm
@Soveless- all of my HomeWorld 2 ships are built to half-scale, as it clearly states at the start of the description. I'm well aware of the actual sizes, but the game doesn't support some of my half scale builds properly, 1:1 scale would be beyond impossible...
Soveless 3 Jun, 2019 @ 7:58am
This is fantastic, dont get me wrong. But the Canon length of this ship is 1114m in length. But like I said this is an EPIC build.
Dobakjang 31 Oct, 2018 @ 5:13am
those ramps are kinda in way but this is SE's limitation. nice work
Artis 18 Sep, 2018 @ 5:51am
Love your work suicideneil, although you havent been online in months. If you see this please contact me if u are interested in discussing some designs :D Cheers,

What's its max jump distance?
SuicideNeil  [author] 5 Sep, 2017 @ 5:12pm
@DazeyDream- well, I did a quick test and I was pleasantly surprized that it actually works. I'm not gonna bother updating this blueprint, but if/when I decide to... R.E.A.R.M. ...some of my fleet in the near future, I will certainly make a few changes here and there to improve handling and such.
DazeyDream 5 Sep, 2017 @ 3:43am
I use the same method on my larger ships, it works wonders even with ony a couple of arts and gravs.
You dont even need an art block on each end, it works with just the front but with less effectiveness.
Downside is that you have to fill the toolbar with each direction.
SuicideNeil  [author] 4 Sep, 2017 @ 3:58pm
@DazeyDream- have you actually tested such a set up to see if it works as intended- I can visualize exactly what you are talking about, but like I said, SE physics doesn't always want to play ball.
DazeyDream 4 Sep, 2017 @ 10:08am
Put a bunch of artificial masses on the front of the ship, and another bunch at the back. Each with their own set of gravity drives pointing in each direction (not affecting the opposite bunch of artificial masses). To turn right, have gravs push the front arts to the right, and the back arts to the left.
SuicideNeil  [author] 3 Sep, 2017 @ 4:19pm
@DazeyDream- more gyros more better ;)

I haven't tested grav-drives ina while, but I get the feeling that if i set them up to spin the ship like that, they would simply cancel eachother out rather than spin the ship around the center point- the game physics are lousy like that ( same issue with thrusters acting on the center of mass regardless of where they are placed ).

That might be an idea for another test video, hmm...
DazeyDream 2 Sep, 2017 @ 5:06pm
Thats alot of gyroscopes.. I recomend using gravity generators and artificial masses to help with turning instead.
jarhead 22 Aug, 2017 @ 5:49pm
If you use the fighter cockpit on a "scout" (matches pretty well) then it should be about 5x5x4 in size (large blocks 5 long x 5 wide x 4 high)
RoyalWaffles 22 Aug, 2017 @ 4:40pm
O_O 120000 blocks uhhhhh thats gonna be kinda hard to build in survival and who in the world has the PC to run anything with this monster in it? XD
SuicideNeil  [author] 22 Aug, 2017 @ 6:55am
@jarhead- without knowing the actual size of the Scouts, it's impossible to build them to any specific scale- they'd be to scale relative to eachother ( in theory- kinda hard to scale ships if you have to link a hundred scouts together and use them as a ruler... ), but at an unknown scale. This is why I used accurate* measurements so that they could all be built to scale & at a known scale- just a shame the dimensions were a bit off, but they are all still to scale relatively speaking and apparently instead of being half scale, they are closer to 2/3 scale. Bleh.
jarhead 18 Aug, 2017 @ 9:47am
I would base the sizee of the larger homeworld ships off of the size of the scouts. This is because the scots are 1 man small ships and if you base the size of everything else off this then you could end up with some very large ships. (use the number of ships able to dock for reference of capital/support class ships)
AryxCami 15 Aug, 2017 @ 6:15am
I don't normally ram either, but the front of my fighter was entirely heavy armour, and the cockpit was quite far back, so it punched through like a bullet through butter. :P
SuicideNeil  [author] 14 Aug, 2017 @ 3:11pm
@ yolobobby- I work alone, no one touches my babies but me..

@ AetheroN- yeah, the vanilla large turrets are vulnerable due to needing a rotor, kinda hard to defend against that without recessing the turret or some other weirdness. Ramming tactics are the best tactics...
AryxCami 12 Aug, 2017 @ 12:55pm
Battled with this on a server: Shooting some rockets at the larger turret's joins kill them fast. And I managed to get in by ramming through the forward propulsion thrusters. Still, this is amazing! :steamhappy:
U.N. Gaming 12 Aug, 2017 @ 12:26pm
i think it would be cool if you got another person to do the inside and you do the outside
SuicideNeil  [author] 4 Aug, 2017 @ 6:26pm
@HarbingerDawn- There are various sources of information and some contradict eachother quite badly- I went with the now outdated ship size comparison picture and a comparison video. That said, some clever person did some sums and calculated that the size of the ships is off by a whole order of magnitude, based on the size of a person and the number of people in the cryo trays in the original HomeWorld game; in reality, the mothership would need to be closer to 30KMs tall, rather than 3KM ( or 2.5KM as is now being stated in a few places ).

Long story short, I ain't changing anything now, it's half scale based on the real thing being ~1100m long. :P
HarbingerDawn 4 Aug, 2017 @ 5:55am
Hiigaran Battlecruiser is ~900 meters long, so this is 2:3 scale :)
flopp 31 Jul, 2017 @ 8:23pm
i never thought it was THAT big. its got really really thick armoring, but some conveyers are exposed if you hit it in the right spots. i learned that from ramming it with a bunch of small ships just for fun.

GOOD JOB BRO
TYU 16 Jul, 2017 @ 8:53am
。。。。简直就是船务
Legion 6 Jul, 2017 @ 9:23pm
thx
SuicideNeil  [author] 3 Jul, 2017 @ 6:43pm
@haydenspieler- just delete the base they are attached to and make your own blueprint of the turret itself- so long as you keep the whole rotor as part of the turret you will be able to paste it onto any creation you like without issues.
Legion 1 Jul, 2017 @ 10:40pm
does anyone have a blueprint for the player made guns?
SuicideNeil  [author] 25 Jun, 2017 @ 5:18pm
@人族狙击手 Feel free to modify it, just remember to credit me & put a link to the original item page where ever you post it.
人族狙击手 25 Jun, 2017 @ 12:32pm
HI。我想要修改你的这艘舰船。并且发布。
我想用我的MOD替换里面的武器与设备。
HI。I want to modify your ship. And released.
I want to use my MOD to replace the inside of the weapons and equipment.
SuicideNeil  [author] 16 Jun, 2017 @ 2:27am
@Gun_slinger11- it clearly says Vanilla in the thumbnail, and there are no mods listed anywhere on the page ( which is done automatically if any are used, so far as I know ).

@john2376- SE ToolBox says it's 602.5m / 241 blocks...
john2376 14 Jun, 2017 @ 7:43am
From end to end without antennas or such the ship measures x235 blocks, which multiplied x2,5 for meters measures up to 587,5 Meters. Not a complaint though, the ship is impressive.
SabaraOne 11 Jun, 2017 @ 3:35pm
It's a blueprint, and according to the description can be run completely vanilla. I haven't tried it, but that's more because there's no way my computer would run it than because I don't want to.
ShiniGami 9 Jun, 2017 @ 10:04pm
are there mods?
fromaj 12 May, 2017 @ 5:09pm
The rooms in this are very well LIT :steamhappy:
Silva 11 May, 2017 @ 1:40pm
It's not your fault the game runs like shit.
For me this is art and not an usable ship.
Great job.
SuicideNeil  [author] 11 May, 2017 @ 12:32pm
@Silva- it's a scale build, I could go smaller but then you lose too much detail ( without mods ). It is what it is.

@Timostrategy- good things come to those who wait..... quite a while....

@Bonusgold- download it and try it for yourself, it's actually quite agile thanks to the 1000 gyros and massive number of thrusters...

@SabaraOne- not entirely sure what you mean, but 3D printers ( welder walls ) do work for large ships in SE... when they don't explode or lag the game into oblivion.

@DeathsEye- there is also the nanite factory that could speed up production, but really, this is more of a toy for creative or spawning into a survival world as a starting point ( or a scripted scenario, Hiigarans vs Vaygr for example ).
DeathsEye 11 May, 2017 @ 11:47am
@SabaraOne I'd get in contact with the guy that made the laser shipyard mod, great mod for building/breaking all kinds of ships. Problem right now is it only works on static grids, but i'm sure with some help he could get it to large-grid ships too!

Power requirements are insane though, i had a 400GW modded reactor and still ran into power issues sometimes.
GrimTheYeeter 11 May, 2017 @ 6:15am
This ship looks f$#king awesome............I'm gonna blow the f#$k out of it :3
stoicboss101 10 May, 2017 @ 10:24pm
i think this is a very good build. i love the homeworld series even as old as it is. the hiigaran mothership would be a great build.. but just really annoying to go up and down the levels without any elevators
SabaraOne 10 May, 2017 @ 3:08pm
Though if you wanted to make it really useful, you'd probably need some ship construction mods, since if this is on a 50% scale, anything larger than a scout wouldn't be handled by a simple construction array. And you'd need probably need some AI mods, or at least obsenely good scripting skills.
SabaraOne 10 May, 2017 @ 3:06pm
As I recall, the Mothership's computer requirements were so high they couldn't use a conventional computer to power it. That's why Sjet stepped in.
DarthSandpaper 10 May, 2017 @ 1:06pm
@Timostrategy, a mothership, would require a mother computer. (the worlds most powerful pc)
Bonusgold 10 May, 2017 @ 12:55pm
looks great, still usability is likely none.
XXX_SniperSlayer42069_XXX 10 May, 2017 @ 9:50am
New ship?
REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Timo 10 May, 2017 @ 9:49am
hey could you make the mothership?
Timo 10 May, 2017 @ 9:48am
it really looks similar!
Silva 10 May, 2017 @ 3:27am
Dude, I have a +10k block ship and it's huge...making big ships just for the sake of it? No one will be able to use them. She's beautiful though.
