I think the real problem with Cleansing Nature is that it comes far too early in the tree--you really shouldn't start with it from the outset. The other skills with debuff removal get them considerably later in the tree, have them on a cooldown, or come with a disadvantage. Take a look at Magical Law and Emomancy, for example. Magical Law requires considerable investment to get to the skill that does the same thing this does. Emomancy has it really early at the second level, but it comes with an uncurable debuff..

However, with Cleansing Nature at the first level I can just pick the skillset and then ignore investing in it while I build up the stuff with nasty debuffs like Necronomiconomics. It'd be better at a later level. Rather strong like Magical Law is rather strong, but not immediately abusable.

Honestly I've never taken Veganism, so I wasn't really thinking about that one. I think there may be a way to tirgger the spell only if you don't have a Vegan debuff, or at least the buff transfer part. That's about as close as I'm gunna get though.
MeatShake 20 Oct, 2012 @ 7:32pm
Kinda nullifies the 'negative' aspect of veganism by allowing you to just wipe the animal killing debuff. Maybe find a way to not allow this (unless it's intended)?

art is really good

I've notived some floor 1 creatures regen health anyways, so it could just be coincidence?

Or it might be the burl debuff decreasing their max life, increasing the portion of life they still have relatively in regard to their new max.
Eg: You have 50 hp, 100 max, bar half full.
Loose some burl, 50 hp, 90 max, bar more than half full, but still same HP.
So don't worry.

Hmm... That shouldn't happen as far as I know. The debuff transfer is a built in mechanic, so there may be some problem with the mechanic itself, but I'll look into it. There might be something funny happenning on the buff transfer, like their stats going below the minimum, causing them to increase. Thanks letting me know!

When I try to Cleansing Nature a Vegan debuff, I found that it sometimes healed Diggles on floor 1. It shouldn't do this, right?

Thanks for the feedback! That was actually the effect I was most worried about with scaling... I tried to find a way to only let the spell stack once on the target, as I currently check for the 'Swamp Gas' buff, but I believe this only checks the player instead of the enemy. Until I find a way to do this, I'm lowering the scaling slightly, as well as increasing the mana cost. It should still be quite useful, but hopefully less overpowered later on! (Will submit the update, along with a few other changes, within the hour.)

I feel there are some balance issues with some spells, especially Swamp Gas which you could just spam when skilled enough. Especially if Mana Cost goes down even more and the damage is scaled...
Despite that, I like it!

Didn't catch that one. Thanks for the correction!

This mod is super cool, I'm testing it now. Just one quick note: it's "a great bellow", not "a great below".

Did you make the artwork?`if not could you tell me who made it!
Potato  [author] 25 Aug, 2012 @ 5:30pm
Heh, thanks! This was actually the picture I named the mod after, just because I liked it so much!
an_actual_whale 25 Aug, 2012 @ 5:04pm
Thumbs up just because the art you have up looks so cool and I love seeing it before I start up Dredmor
Kaidelong 24 Aug, 2012 @ 7:27pm
This looks very promising. Speaking from experience, relying on cooldown skills generally isn't easy to balance.
TarotProphet 24 Aug, 2012 @ 6:11pm
Oooh, amazing! Subscribing now, thanks for the descriptions! :D

Sounds really interesting, I liked the name!
Could you add the skills to the description so we can have an idea about what your mod has to offer? Thanks!
