Thanks for commenting, narmo. Yes two airlocks on your first day is the way to go, I usually do that myself to stop the same problem happening to me. Have fun playing planetbase!

update: went ahead and tested it; all you need to do is build 2 airlocks connected to your first O2 generator. I did build a third on day 2 just to speed things up a bit but it seems like 2 airlocks would've been enough. Didn't have any colonists starve or suffocate and have played at least 6-7 days so far

I think there are too many starting colonist as Death Banana said below and I'm having the same issue tanaurak had. I think it's a path finding issue from the way the colonist act - they go get food from the shuttle and then end up dropping it outside the airlock while waiting in the massive line of bots and colonist - and this happens until they all starve; although I did also have 4 colonist suffocate outside the airlock before they could get inside. I'm not sure if adding more airlocks day 1 will help, will have to try that at some point

thanks for clarifying. i have no idea what could be causing those things to happen, tbh i have not played for a while, and i lost the computer that i made the mods on so cant even look into those files any more. Because of this, i have no way to fix this problem, so if i get more reports of this mod not working as intended i'll delete it from steam, or at least advise that it may not work,.and no offence taken, you were in no way incorrect or rude. have a great day

mopkins1971, yes I have and for whatever crazy reason the colonists will just stand there and die with plenty of food. Or they will stand just outside of a perfectly good airlock and suffocate. In retrospect probably should'nt have called it "your A.I." . THE A.I. has a peculiar interaction with regards to this mod for unknown reasons rendering it extremely frustrating. Sorry for that. I was trying to be informative not accusatory and it came off wrong.

tanaurak, afaik there is no way a modder for this game can change the behavior of the colonists, the things i have changed in my mods are the landscape and starting supplies and number of colonists. You have built meal makers, right?

Something wrong with your A.I. Plenty of food but colonists stand around till they starve to death.

Not bad map. I would not call it completely sandbox but close to it. Starting is good with tons of metal and bioplastic. The funny part is no currency is provided at the start to make it completely sandbox. Overall fairly good for an open style map. After playing a couple times one common phenomenon is the first visit/colonist by ship has always been an intruder. LOL

You start with too many people. it's too hard too support everyone on the first day. suggestion: spawn with 2 medics 2 guards 4 biologists 4 engineers 4 workers 4 carrier bots 3 constructor bots 3 miner bots

officer tucker and system 512, that problem is nothing to do with this challenge, but is part of the game. You need workers and carrierbots to haul the food to the meal makers. Try to have at least half as many meals as you have population all the time. I you don't have that, you need more carrybots.

I've also been using this mod a lot just to get a quicker start and have more fun with later game larger builds. Instead of spending the first few hours of the game waiting for everything to get going.

But I also agree with the feelow below: A few Guards to start would be helpful. I often get raiders as soon as I open up the Landing pads since my base is so prosperous I guess?

hi guys once you'v e subscribed you need to give it a little while to download (click on Library at the top of your library list, select downloads - there should be a message there saying it's downloaded)

Once it's downloaded, you will find it in your challenges tab, in the game menu.

I agree I don't actually play this one myself - it was made for someone else at their request and with their desired starting colonists and bots.

Don't like to change things once they're public, and as I said, this is for someone else, but you may like to try one of my other challenges instead, perhaps big base. That's more to my liking (and quite probably yours as well)

This has too many starting colonists and bots. Even with 2 airlocks, I sometimes have people not being able to get inside before they run out of Oxygen. This is partly because of all the bots, as soon as I get a powered airlock all the bots feel like they have to go inside for no reason, and then they all come back out again. When everyone does manage to get inside, it isn't long before everyone's trying to go outside again to get food. The ones who already have food going back in and the ones still trying to go out create an even worse traffic jam, as well as all the bots going in and out (which they do way more than necessary).

I would reduce the engineers, medics, construction bots, and drill bots to maybe 1 or 2 of each.

As many as you want- but there will be a BIG pile of stuff to move to storage if you ask for more than you can initailly build with. If you have that many people you'll have to remember to build two airlocks initiallly or they'll die of asphixiation lining up to go thru the door! I'll get started on it now for you!

cupcakes there is no winning conditon for the standard game, I can make one or leave it without if you'd rather. You can have things like accumulate resources, population number, prestige amount and so on. Let me know what you want for a victory or if you don't want one at all.
