obviously the original 'Rome General Helmet' ends up clipping into half of the italian skulls, and I'm retarded so I don't know how to retexture it from WHYTE

Hey I love this helmet, genuinely great quality depiction of an attic helmet. Can I reuse it for some mods? I've already been using it for an Urban Cohort mod, but if that's an issue then I'll scrap it

Hello all, Ive been hard at work overhauling this mod and wanted to show you how it is progressing.

The variantmeshes that make up the unit are being editied so preatorians will look more like they would in battle and officer helmets are almost completed. The crest will be for officers.

Ive added a new image showing the imperial preatorian centurion helmet. but it is still a WIP. i have used image projecting as part of the texture generation and a few new modelling techniques.

Hi All,

Thanks for still using this mod. i had started work again on my Roma Reformata mod and noticed this mod still has quite a bit of traffic.

Maggioriano is right, and this has been fixed in Roma Reformata. This mod was made years ago when i was just learning variantmeshdefinitions. Since then i have new modelling techniques, normal map generation techniques, variantmesh writings etc.

But i will have a look and fix the mod.

I'm currently tinkering with the variant editor and when i select the roman_coolus it still shows clipping, is it something with the editor? is it fine in-game?

Ahahahahah! No absolutely NO! Such helmet with much elaboration, is not avaiable for simple praetorian guard, but minimum for Centurion of Praetorians, much more elaborate for Tribunus of Praetorian Cohors. Basic armour, shild and helmet was given by free from Roman state, that from I century A.C. begin to cut military costs, so it's impossible that Roman Empire give to all 4000 Praetorian Guards 4000 elaborate precious helmets. It's historically not accurate.)

thank you, unfortunatly the coolus was incorrectly sized on released and it required resizing in a modelling program, simple fix though :)

Roma Reformata is a way off, i need to learn complex rigging in 3ds to finish it, but the good news is a large majority of the models are finished they just need rigging. Also the .packfile for the mod is almost populated with what needs editing :) I will add bits and pieces to this mod such as other helmets and fixes as time goes on :) Also so you can have a bit of insight into the amount of work done in Roma Reformata I have added a comparison shot of the Roman Centurion in RR compared to CA initial release

It should be yes, this mod will only changes the models, textures & variantmeshes. These are loaded each time a battle is loaded so should be save game compatible it will just use the new models and textures when you load a new battle
