Wonderful!

Hopefully this new fix holds out until the next update, which I am sure is going to break everything again, given its tweaking South east Asia, strait-topia. :P

Everything seems to be working correctly now
Rune Trantor  [author] 3 Jan, 2021 @ 11:35pm
oh, its outdated already? Huh, my bad.

Thanks for telling me though.

Just updated it, can you tell me if it works properly on your end now?
grotaclas 3 Jan, 2021 @ 9:14pm
I had a look at this mod, because the topic of an english strait crossing came up in the forum and it seems that your mods is missing many of the straits which have been added in recent game versions and some straits now connect the wrong provinces (e.g. Edirne-Biga instead of Gallipoli-Biga). I think you could update it easily by just copying the adjacencies.csv from the normal game into your mod and adding the line for the Calais-Kent strait crossing,

Thank you, it is much appreciated!

FINALLY updated to 1.30.

Took a while, but finally figured how to update it with the new system.
Rune Trantor  [author] 23 Jul, 2020 @ 10:12am
That's great to know!

And yeah, as long as PDX doesnt alter any of the strait provinces IDs, it will work, presumably.

The day will come when I figure out how to update it with the new launcher though. I swear to god, this launcher sucks. ;A;

Just tried starting a new game with version 1.3 and I think this MOD does still work. Very happy to see since I think it is an excellent MOD. thank you
Rune Trantor  [author] 18 Jan, 2018 @ 8:15pm
Welp.
I did redid it in 1.24, but I am also seeing a weirdness in Philliphines. :S

Will repair asap.

You might want to know that you forgot to update adjacency.scv and now it renders the Suez Canal unusable.

Trump just knows.. he knows all..
Rune Trantor  [author] 15 Dec, 2017 @ 10:38pm
(Whoops. It. I meant it.)

but yeah! The strait is all for invading London and renaming it Gaytown, how did you guess?
Kauchaus69 15 Dec, 2017 @ 9:32pm
glad i like msyelf? what is this, gaytown?
Rune Trantor  [author] 15 Dec, 2017 @ 5:10pm
Glad you like you. :P

Oh, thank you! I really appreciate it!
Rune Trantor  [author] 30 Sep, 2017 @ 2:53pm
Against my better judgement, I have done it, the ET version of the mod is up. (More mods to update everytime someone does something! yay...)

Because people seem to want it for ET and the 'why is there a strait between [insert two far flung areas of the world here]?' comments are rather frequent.
DinoTrakker 30 Sep, 2017 @ 10:17am
I'd love a Pm with detailed instructions, since im not the best at stuff like this and dont want to fuck up my computer with a single misplaced line xD Thanks!
Rune Trantor  [author] 29 Sep, 2017 @ 4:02pm
Not too hard, you just have to unzip the ET mod file, change one line in the 'Adjacencies' file, and re zip it back up. :P

The adjacencies file is what makes straits, all you need is the IDs of the provinces on both sides, and the ID of the sea tile inbetween.
You just add a new line with the IDs and that's that.

If you want I can give you more detailed steps in PM or something. (Right now I have a new pc so I dont have excel and such to make the mod myself)
DinoTrakker 29 Sep, 2017 @ 3:48pm
If I knew how, I surely would xD
Rune Trantor  [author] 28 Sep, 2017 @ 1:09pm
Yeah, ET changes absolutely everything.

You mean a mod variant that is for ET?
I am not sure how tbh. >_>

You could always add it into the ET files yourself, trust me, this 'mod' is a single line of text. XD
DinoTrakker 28 Sep, 2017 @ 12:33pm
Ah right, forgot to mention I was using ET.. Sorry! perhaps when you update the mod you could add a seperate compatibility mod? Sorry for the mistake! :D
Rune Trantor  [author] 26 Sep, 2017 @ 3:29pm
Are you using any mod that adds provinces or changes the map anyway?

Will give it a check as soon as I can, but my computer is down right now so I am not even sure if EU4's new patch already came out (The one that rewords Arabia).
Because if so, that's it, the provinces changed numbers and my mod isnt updated.

As soon as I can, I will update it, promise, but I cant promise it will be soon. D:
DinoTrakker 22 Sep, 2017 @ 2:10pm
It seems the mod now adds random straits from Indonesia to East Africa, and even one from Java to Alaska. It also stops european colonization for some reason. Any idea why?
Rune Trantor  [author] 11 Aug, 2017 @ 2:09pm
I could swear they added new straits since then.

Also, last time you commented here you mentioned something about using a method that allows you to add new straits and not override the entire vanilla strait list, so as to tell the game 'use the base list, but add these too'.
Have you tried taking that out so your mod simply is the adjecencies file, will all the original straits AND your modded ones?
Mugen 11 Aug, 2017 @ 9:08am
hi. Your mod seems to work. Can you look into my mod please and see if you can tell why it doesn't works anymore? I just updated them after not having looked at them since 1.19
Rune Trantor  [author] 26 Apr, 2017 @ 4:13pm
1.21 already! man they work fast.

And their newest strait is dead again, so much for that one. :P
Rune Trantor  [author] 8 Apr, 2017 @ 12:27pm
In the nation selection screen, they all are grey for me, yes.

Once you start playing, non owned ones are red.

Also, was watching Florryworry's Atheist Pope, which is ironman and all, so no mods to interfere, and his Treviso-Venizia strait was grey.

So this is beyond my mod.
Rune Trantor  [author] 6 Apr, 2017 @ 12:35pm
And updated.
Works on 1.20, tested that.

Color is still grey. Beats me completely. :S

EDIT: Interestingly, some straits are red, while others are grey. Denmark's are grey too, while Gibraltar and Holstein ones arent...
The hell is happening..?

EDIT 2: (Truly sorry for the spam, if it's showing)
Okay, ignore the Denmark thing, the straits turn grey when YOU control them.
I am tag switching around and any strait I own goes grey, while others are red...
But only if you load the game with them owned.
Console integrated Denmark as Lubeck and the straits remained red until I tag switched away and in again.

I give up. OTL
Rune Trantor  [author] 6 Apr, 2017 @ 11:10am
Will repair when possible, shouldnt be too hard. (Here's hoping)

But yeah, I was kind of expecting the mod to fail upon the update.
They all do.
Rune Trantor  [author] 5 Apr, 2017 @ 2:16pm
As far as I know the new patch doesnt touch straits.

I will still update it just in case they added something in Asia, but I doubt there will be much change.

As for the color, I still dunno what's causing it, the Adjacencies file doesnt have anything beyond what provinces each strait ends on, and the sea tile between. :S
Rune Trantor  [author] 4 Apr, 2017 @ 1:22am
So turns out updating changes visibility to 'only me'.

WELP.

Sorry about that.
Rune Trantor  [author] 1 Apr, 2017 @ 11:36am
Odd, the mod only uses the 'Adjacencies' file, nothing in there seems to be relevant...

For the sake of it, I checked files integrity, and redid the mod with a new 'Adjacencies' (it looks identical...)
Now the straits are all red for me, mine included.

Try to update now.
If it's still not... then I feel your issue lies elsewhere.
Have you tried verifying the game files? Disabling any other mods?
Rune Trantor  [author] 31 Mar, 2017 @ 9:48pm
IF I had to guess, somehow the strait graphic got moved just a tiny bit downwards, and is now covered by the water, thus making it look in that weird grey color, that is not that far off the color a red would look like if colored in blue shade.
Rune Trantor  [author] 31 Mar, 2017 @ 9:46pm
@Cheeto265 Is it?

... Just checked, it is. Huh.

I have not changed anything in the code is a long while, and certainly not colors.

Also, just tried the game without my mod, the other straits remain grey. Does this happen on your end too? (Grey staying even without my mod?) because if so, then the issue is in the game, not with me.
Perturabo did nothing wrong 14 Feb, 2017 @ 5:25pm
Ah yeah, I do have ET enabled. Thanks for the heads up
Rune Trantor  [author] 14 Feb, 2017 @ 12:59pm
Are you using Extended Timeline? Last time I forgot to disable my mod for that it did add one awfully similar.

This mod is for vanilla map, as ET adds way too much provinces and changes the ID of others, so vanilla straits end up all over.

I have enabled it halfway through a game, I could swear it is compatible with save files, assuming no other mod conflicts with it.
Perturabo did nothing wrong 14 Feb, 2017 @ 12:22pm
Same problem here, I have a strait which connects North American province with a province somewhere in morocco. Is it save game compatible or I have to start a new game?
Winston 18 Dec, 2016 @ 6:53am
Napoleon would apreciate
Rune Trantor  [author] 7 Dec, 2016 @ 1:19pm
@ Herbivore The Carnivorous Goat Actually, half of the time it lets England take more land in the mainland. Generally they can score some good alliances or jump France when it's getting trashed.
It's is far from a 100% guarantee that England will fall. It does sometimes, but less so than I expected.

@Mr.Cupcake I jsust updated it yesterday because I messed up and didnt include the new 1.19 straits, should work now.
Where is one of these odd straits to check in game if they still persist or it was fixed with the update.
Torlun 6 Dec, 2016 @ 9:46am
For some reason this mod removes some straits, and make straits from north africa to america and other wierd places
Baldwick 6 Dec, 2016 @ 9:08am
+Arnoob No, it won't be it's a map addition not a visual addition.
Arnoob 6 Dec, 2016 @ 8:11am
Is this Iron Man compatible ?
A 6 Dec, 2016 @ 7:47am
k Herbivore, guess what: Gibralta is NOT connected by land either but there is a strait. Guess what happens? Exactly, Marocco gets overrun. Same with Dithmarschen or Denmark (usually)
Centurion 6 Dec, 2016 @ 4:35am
pshhh, I'll sit on my island and continue to laugh as the glorious royal navy blocks passage!
Ball-Stabbing Emmanuel McCoy 6 Dec, 2016 @ 3:16am
To be honest, I find the main reason England and France butt heads realistically is because England is an island. If England and France were connected by land, England would lose every time, the English Channel is their advantage. That's probably why they removed the Calais straight shortly after adding it, because it removed England's advantage and made them easy picking for the 50k french blobs.
Rune Trantor  [author] 5 Dec, 2016 @ 8:19pm
Quick update because DUMB ME forgot 1.19 added a TON of new straits.
I was SO confused Dithmarchen had no strait, but Holstein did, despite having me between both ends!

WHOOPS.
Rune Trantor  [author] 5 Dec, 2016 @ 5:01pm
@yosemitehalfdome Sure, as long as said mods dont change straits, it works just fine.

Extended Timeline is also not compatible due to province ID changes, but I use this mod constantly I have never seen conflicts in normal gameplay.

@Rowan Gotta admit, I sometimes forget this CAN help England. I made it to see them freaking do something, even if it is dying. ;P
[20r] Rowan112 5 Dec, 2016 @ 12:19pm
i think this mod is great, the amount of times i have to fight france and lose all my men because i couldn't transport them back to england to get their moral back up.
