Hopefully this new fix holds out until the next update, which I am sure is going to break everything again, given its tweaking South east Asia, strait-topia. :P
Thanks for telling me though.
Just updated it, can you tell me if it works properly on your end now?
Took a while, but finally figured how to update it with the new system.
And yeah, as long as PDX doesnt alter any of the strait provinces IDs, it will work, presumably.
The day will come when I figure out how to update it with the new launcher though. I swear to god, this launcher sucks. ;A;
I did redid it in 1.24, but I am also seeing a weirdness in Philliphines. :S
Will repair asap.
but yeah! The strait is all for invading London and renaming it Gaytown, how did you guess?
Because people seem to want it for ET and the 'why is there a strait between [insert two far flung areas of the world here]?' comments are rather frequent.
The adjacencies file is what makes straits, all you need is the IDs of the provinces on both sides, and the ID of the sea tile inbetween.
You just add a new line with the IDs and that's that.
If you want I can give you more detailed steps in PM or something. (Right now I have a new pc so I dont have excel and such to make the mod myself)
You mean a mod variant that is for ET?
I am not sure how tbh. >_>
You could always add it into the ET files yourself, trust me, this 'mod' is a single line of text. XD
Will give it a check as soon as I can, but my computer is down right now so I am not even sure if EU4's new patch already came out (The one that rewords Arabia).
Because if so, that's it, the provinces changed numbers and my mod isnt updated.
As soon as I can, I will update it, promise, but I cant promise it will be soon. D:
Also, last time you commented here you mentioned something about using a method that allows you to add new straits and not override the entire vanilla strait list, so as to tell the game 'use the base list, but add these too'.
Have you tried taking that out so your mod simply is the adjecencies file, will all the original straits AND your modded ones?
And their newest strait is dead again, so much for that one. :P
Once you start playing, non owned ones are red.
Also, was watching Florryworry's Atheist Pope, which is ironman and all, so no mods to interfere, and his Treviso-Venizia strait was grey.
So this is beyond my mod.
Works on 1.20, tested that.
Color is still grey. Beats me completely. :S
EDIT: Interestingly, some straits are red, while others are grey. Denmark's are grey too, while Gibraltar and Holstein ones arent...
The hell is happening..?
EDIT 2: (Truly sorry for the spam, if it's showing)
Okay, ignore the Denmark thing, the straits turn grey when YOU control them.
I am tag switching around and any strait I own goes grey, while others are red...
But only if you load the game with them owned.
Console integrated Denmark as Lubeck and the straits remained red until I tag switched away and in again.
I give up. OTL
But yeah, I was kind of expecting the mod to fail upon the update.
They all do.
I will still update it just in case they added something in Asia, but I doubt there will be much change.
As for the color, I still dunno what's causing it, the Adjacencies file doesnt have anything beyond what provinces each strait ends on, and the sea tile between. :S
WELP.
Sorry about that.
For the sake of it, I checked files integrity, and redid the mod with a new 'Adjacencies' (it looks identical...)
Now the straits are all red for me, mine included.
Try to update now.
If it's still not... then I feel your issue lies elsewhere.
Have you tried verifying the game files? Disabling any other mods?
... Just checked, it is. Huh.
I have not changed anything in the code is a long while, and certainly not colors.
Also, just tried the game without my mod, the other straits remain grey. Does this happen on your end too? (Grey staying even without my mod?) because if so, then the issue is in the game, not with me.
This mod is for vanilla map, as ET adds way too much provinces and changes the ID of others, so vanilla straits end up all over.
I have enabled it halfway through a game, I could swear it is compatible with save files, assuming no other mod conflicts with it.
It's is far from a 100% guarantee that England will fall. It does sometimes, but less so than I expected.
@Mr.Cupcake I jsust updated it yesterday because I messed up and didnt include the new 1.19 straits, should work now.
Where is one of these odd straits to check in game if they still persist or it was fixed with the update.
I was SO confused Dithmarchen had no strait, but Holstein did, despite having me between both ends!
WHOOPS.
Extended Timeline is also not compatible due to province ID changes, but I use this mod constantly I have never seen conflicts in normal gameplay.
@Rowan Gotta admit, I sometimes forget this CAN help England. I made it to see them freaking do something, even if it is dying. ;P
