but it nice
braterculosis 12 Aug, 2012 @ 11:03pm
not quite the shading and coloring i was expecting.... but i like it. GOOD JOB

It could do with a more refined texture to fit with the other weapons. The model otherwise looks a little too sleek, but to be honest, I'm looking forward to your progress in this one, it could definitely become a really nice addition over time.

Thanks... I just gave an idea Valve will do the rest. I'm pretty aware that if they decide to put your gun in the game, it will appear with "their" stats and standards. But I'd be appreciated if you can bring my idea to them somehow.... Hope to see your medic gun in game.
Doctor Fill  [author] 16 Jul, 2012 @ 12:02am
@naksiloth interesting... sheillding target hadn't thought about that
naksiloth 15 Jul, 2012 @ 9:26pm
My suggested stats:
While active: creates an energy bubble that reduces damage for 20% around target (friend or foe- bubble prevents other medics or dispensers to heal the target. Canceling other medics ubercharge but damage reduction will affect your target no matter what.)
Heal rate increased by 40% (for friends only)
25% shorter uber-charge duration.
On Uber-charge: Gifted - poisons the enemy target while reducing the incoming damage for 35%)

WHOE THAT COOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL!

Nice
TheSkitMan 13 Jul, 2012 @ 8:38am
For Stats something along the lines of for every 3 or 5 health healed on teammates the players health goes down by one or two? Fantastic Idea by the way, would love to see something like this in the game.
D3r3k 12 Jul, 2012 @ 10:45pm
Good job ;D

This needs some texturing. Still a great model.
subatomic mental fortitude 10 Jul, 2012 @ 2:01pm
I had a lot to say, so I had to split my comment. The first half is the bottom half.
subatomic mental fortitude 10 Jul, 2012 @ 2:00pm
-its obviously not fully complete, but add some worn down texture to the metal and shiny texture to the glass and hosing

-add a semicircle gauge to the top of the gun that is similar to a cars gas gauge. it would have a thick line through the middle, with red on one side and blue on the other, and a brightly colored needle going between the two colors depending on if you're stealing or giving health

-if you use my ideas, there would be blue AND red on the gun, so keep the biggest cylinder piece the team color

This gun is a great, original idea that I would like to see implementedd into the game, good job and I hope you like my ideas!
subatomic mental fortitude 10 Jul, 2012 @ 2:00pm
I have a couple suggestions, some of them previously stated in the comments:

-put a grip on the gun, probably on the smaller pipe on the bottom

-you should change the two little gray pipes at the nozzle/front of the gun into transparent tubes/hoses with a flowing effect, one for giving health to teammates (flowing outward) and one for stealing health (flowing backwards into the gun)

-make the handles bigger, rounder, and add grips to them

-tone down the color

-you should make the gray cylinder at the front/middle of the gun glass, with a smaller cylinder inside of it with a flowing/glowing texture

Just, wow! The models look pretty cool in the pictures!
Noltron 9 Jul, 2012 @ 7:58pm
nice idea! maybe valve will make it work! they would really have to play around with the stats, but thats what valve does
Martyn 9 Jul, 2012 @ 6:05am
zo nice
Rain↯ 9 Jul, 2012 @ 4:49am
cool but where is the texture?
Zyzzyva 8 Jul, 2012 @ 4:53pm
its cool but it needs to have great stats
♥AYHO♥FreakkyRandomNinja 8 Jul, 2012 @ 5:10am
its so cool

update with different lever/handles and i start on texturing
Fall off your horse! 7 Jul, 2012 @ 11:16pm
alas another perfectly good weapon *ruined* by TF2's art style... If Counter-Strike had medi-guns it'd belong there. You gotta make it more cartoony
PortalGirl 7 Jul, 2012 @ 9:19pm
I edited my comments to be in proper order so that you could read them as though it was one long comment. Good luck, and I hope this helps.
PortalGirl 7 Jul, 2012 @ 9:18pm
Building on what the previous guy said, maybe instead of a scope just have a lens with crosshairs.

For the most part the mediguns are all a dark grey with only one splotch of color. A cylinder of color that goes around one part of it. Try playing around with the location of the colors or toning them down. A lot.

That pipe that goes into the bottom looks like it is in the place of the medic's usual handle. You should probably put some grips on there of some sort. Whether they are the grips that have grooves for your fingers or are, as Ms. Wataru said, bloody bandages, but wrapped up a bit thick.
PortalGirl 7 Jul, 2012 @ 9:18pm
I have an idea for the big cylinder with the primary lever. You know how a clock has a round frame and then the face is recessed? Why not try doing something like that on the sides? The regular medigun metal shell, but with a sort of case like the quick fix on the inside. That would be a really good place to have your color for the medigun. For a better idea of what i mean, look at the front of the Kritzkrieg or medigun. They both have that metal lip and a slightly recessed piece.

The other great place to have the color would be that really shiny metal piece near the end of the medigun.

The two little pipes you have meet at that little round part. That would be the perfect place for a guage of some sort.
PortalGirl 7 Jul, 2012 @ 9:17pm
Wataru is right that the primary lever needs to be cartoonishly big if not the same lever as the other three mediguns. Perhaps the other lever should be made into a switch. For an example of the switch i am thinkin of, you will notice a little switch on the bottom of the mediguns at the very back. Just a little switch, but on yours it should be a little bit more pronounced, since it is an important switch an on top. Give it a little pedestal or something. Maybe even add a hint of color in the form of a couple lights that indicate what mode it is in.

All in all, I really like where your medigun is going and i hope you find my suggestions helpful.
LilySerenada 7 Jul, 2012 @ 8:39am
(Apparently I have a lot to say and had to split my comment into 2 parts, lol. The bottom one is the first half.)
LilySerenada 7 Jul, 2012 @ 8:39am
A bloody bandage wrap is the first thing that came to my mind. The original models have electrical tape around that same area, but a bandage wrap would help amplify the use of the gun, I think, and at any rate, something non-metal there would make it seem more...tangible and used, I guess. Just so it doesn't look like Medic pulled it straight out of a box and brought it to the battlefield.
One last thing I can think of -- since this is made to be a more aggressive weapon, maybe a scope or something would be fitting on the top? Not that it's made to be a long-range weapon, but the Frontier Justice has a scope on it, and its a shotgun. It just kind of amplifies the aggressiveness, I think.

I hope this model comes together well! As someone who mains Medic, I would LOVE to see something like this get introduced. Maybe, if you have enough time and energy, a Battle Medic item set could be made around it? I would pay money for that.
LilySerenada 7 Jul, 2012 @ 8:39am
I just looked at the official TF2 mediguns for some reference for critique, and I think you're right -- it is too colourful. The official mediguns only have colour around the base near the lever. You should probably keep it consistent if you want to get considered.
I like the tubes near the nozzle. That was a good addition. And I don't remember if the tube on the bottom was there in V1, but I just realised how much I like it.
I can't tell exactly how the inside of the nozzle is made, but if it's a glowing effect, I LOVE it. Keeps the theme of the Kritz, with its glowing barrel, but puts it in the inside, making it look more ominous/dangerous. Very fitting for the specs.
A thing that could use some work are the levers. They're SUPER tiny -- if you look at the official guns, they're cartoony enormous (fitting with the silhouette/cartoon aspect of TF2).
Around the barrel, where you currently have the grey, non-coloured portion...maybe put something non-metal there.
Darth WTF 6 Jul, 2012 @ 3:42am
Texturing is definitely needed
I would suggest you put a link in the older versions description for the newer ones
Doctor Fill  [author] 5 Jul, 2012 @ 9:42am
@<PCR>Dr.Flitz Blitzkrieger I can see you read the description "basic coloring" and "needs detailing texture-wise" were clearly stated -_- techically its not textured at all I just colored the faces of the model to get a general color scheme down.

@[ScF]Roydolfje English?

@TheChosen yes medic needs more medigun options

@EV99 glad you like the model it'll fit the tf2 look better when I add texture details (hopefully)

@Beltan I'll try to get some up they will probably be just maya screenshots because my photoshop trial ended last night
BenRegen 5 Jul, 2012 @ 8:19am
What I can see I like, but the dark background makes it difficult to make out the exact shape and the details. Light it up in the pictures, please.
TheChosen 5 Jul, 2012 @ 7:02am
Texture's need more improving, but this is going to the right direction. And I wanna see more Mediguns so keep it up!
EV99 5 Jul, 2012 @ 5:34am
This doesn't really fit in with TF2's cartoony theme, but it's a great model nonetheless!
Roydolfje 5 Jul, 2012 @ 4:31am
yea some new texture thath wil do him good
i like the good details on it but not too mutch to over graph il tink it
and make it way to heavy for an pc to render (in big servers)
goodjob

keep it up
Rizz 5 Jul, 2012 @ 1:48am
Improve the texture for a bit, it looks to plain
