Stop in 1870s would be an awesome mod.
Set the final techs in the tree to Fertilizer, Rifling, Biology, and Railroad.
Make Electricity, Dynamite, Replaceable Parts, and Combustion unresearchable.

It'd be cool to see this just expanded with the ability to stop at the Late Renaissance period, especially with some of the civs that are basically tailor-made for looking good during those eras.

Would it be possible to slow down the passage of years so the game actually ends in 1918? I know there are era mods that do something like that.

I actually like a lot of the changes introducted. I just wish they had put them into a conventional Civ game.

With Alpha Centauri II Beyond Earth releasing next week, I'll probably never play Civ5 again. Thus, I'm officially abandoning this mod. I thought about deleting it, but with 3300+ subscribers, I suppose I'll leave it up. I'm glad people have found it enjoyable.

I want to echo 700King0770's question of what happened to your other End In Mods. They were my Favorites! Some other Moder made similar ones but their effects are permanent, where as I could keep switching with yours (which makes them the best!). I hope you can and do remake them I miss them greatly. My Civ game playing isn't as fun without your mods!

FrenchCorsair what happened to your other End in mods? End in Classical, End in Medieval, End in Renaissance, End in Industrial End, in Modern, End in Atomic, where did they all go? I really liked your End in mods because it allowed me to use the mod, halt tech, then when I felt like advanceing just turn the mod off, and switch to the next tech level up End in mod. Did they brake with a Civ update?

I have the same problem as Gabris, I have subscribed to this mod, but cannot see it in the mods list, even after restart etc.

@ryan aircraft carriers of the time were next to useless at most carrying between 2-5 airplanes each plus they were not built so that the aircraft could land back on them infact the only mission from an aircraft carrier in ww1 resulted in the loss of 5 aircraft just to destroy 2 airships

I set up my first game checked, and yes, the techs were locked out as per the tech limit. But after I saved the game and started again later the same day, the tech tree was wide open as per normal???

It is ok French Corsair. I did not realize the apparent problem with the GW infantry. At least we know now. Better I found out now than continue the story to a point where GW inf would have no longer been able to be built. That would have been much worse man.

Version 2 got my save game to not open. Is it true that GW inf cannot be built after all techs were researched up to 1918? I was just about that far in my game. What really sucks is that I started a civ story about that particular game, what a waste of time that was.

Stunning - thanks; set up game on a Tiny Frontier Pangea map, starting in the Industrial age, set up with 5 European AI's (nice and crowded) mentally disregarded the year count and replayed WWI as the Germans. Glorious. Now I'm going for the 1945 mod, starting in the Modern age, Tiny, Islands map with the US v Japan and a load of city states (to simulate Island Hopping) I'll fill you in - I'm playing US

OK... after ending up in a stalemate (IRONY) between myself and Germany, I realized that I couldn't build "Great War Infantry." By eliminating the conventional "Infantry" from the tech tree, I also deleted the GW Infantry, leaving only AA guns and landships as offensive units. Obviously, this will not do.

I can either return the conventional Infantry to the game, or figure out a way to keep the GW Infantry.

I'll try and come up with a solution by the end of the week.
