It's really not hard to add a brand new tenant. You configure a tenantname.npctype file and a tenantname.tenant file. The first one defines all of the proprties of the NPC like it's appearance, racial dialogue, and what cosmetics it wears. The second one defines the requirements the tenant has to spawn from the colony deed.

You can poke around in my mod on GitHub to see what I did to add new tenants.

@SkyTheGuy The usual tenant rent stuff, but also a (considerable) chance of tier-appropriate ores.
@vinchenzojackal&shoon First off, odd name, but neat. Second, I considered adding a guard type, maybe with the heavier helmet the hammer bros use, but that's beyond my modding skills and scope. Plus would be probably less compatible.

I'll be honest, most of said workers cause they are miners did use equipment that doubled as improvised weapons, and half of them where guards, and in their dialogue all of them mention doing 'guard work at the mines'. I wouldn't mind if additional tenants could spawn from the Lunar Mining Furniture Set, if there could be both a normal tenant, guard, and merchant. Oddly, there is a chance for Lunar Miner Merchants to spawn in vanilla, but it is set to be very low, and it requires lots of storage, and no Weapon Furniture.
