@Zyphrexi:

I have no idea. Nick completely reworked how lockpicks after this came out, and I haven't touched Dredmor in a long, long time. I genuinely don't think its functionality can even work in the game right now, but who knows?

yeah I don't see the crafting recipe show up in game

Does this mod still work without issues? I was thinking of making a similar mod.

@TSED

Well, I've been using it for a week now and I haven't had any problems. Well, once a save game mysteriously cloned, but the clone vanished after reboot. I'll keep you informed.

@Joneithevius:

Really? Weeeird. I remember there being a bug that actively deleted save games involved with this mod, which prompted Nick to completely rewrite the Lockpick mechanics. I'm amazed it works.

Watch out for disappearing save games.

I wanted to say that I tried this mod, and... it still works great! The crafting levels are a bit funky and the lockpicks from different ignots won't stack, but otherwise it still works as advertised and provided plenty of craftable lockpicks!

TSED: I saw some inconsistencies in your craftDB. For example, on Copper Ingots (and a couple more after that), -- output skill="5" name="Minor Bundle of Lockpicks" amount="3" -- when skill=3 gives 2 Major. It's not that big a deal cause most of the time you have a s**t ton of picks by the time you reach tinkering5, but thought I'd let you know.

@ Dr. Acula

Oh, yeah, I completely forgot about that happening. It probably is hilariously broken, as the mechanic in-game was re-written and I haven't updated.

I'mma put that in the description. Thanks!

Seems to be broken now that Lucky Pick no longer grants picks and instead just opens doors.

@Bones6122 -- when you have a connection, subscribe to the mod, start the game, and wait for it to appear in the Mod Loader screen. Quit the game, open My Documents/Gaslamp Games/Dungeons of Dredmor/steam_workshop/subscribed, and rename the [lots of numbers].dat file there to "Craft Lockpicks.zip". If you're on track so far, Windows will popup a warning that this could break the file; press "Ok" anyways. Move your shiny new .zip to My Documents/Gaslamp Games/Dungeons of Dredmor/mods -- be sure to unsubscribe before you play for real! :)

(This process works for any and all Workshop DoD mods, incidentally.)

is there anywhere i can download this for offline play? (anything downloaded through the steam workshop is unavalible if you dont have an internet connection)

@ NFL Combine [Bear Cavalry]:

D'oh! Thanks. I tend to steer away from crafting builds because I have yet to find a game where I enjoy crafting, so I never would've figured that out on my own. I'll fix it some time in the near future.

Steel ingots, at higher crafting levels, create fewer picks than at crafting level 0. (The output switches from major bundles to minor bundles.)

You can always have Lockpicks in hand with the Burglary skill, wich most people already think is a game breaker.
uoodS JW 24 Jun, 2012 @ 2:16am
A game breaker for purists, but if you'd like a little extra Exp and want to avoid smashing chests, this is a nice extra.
ABrokenChiliDog 20 Jun, 2012 @ 10:20am
The lockpick potions look like a piping for those who can't figure it out lol.
