So in my adventure to re-capture the fun I had with this game back when it was popular, I stumble upon this relic of it's time... The meme format that was a stepping stone to what memes are today. Man what a crazy blast of nostalgia.

Ok, i thought the Tome of Too much Information was your work, Kinda a Silly thing if it's the Dev's thing :)

The tome is a default item in the game, so if it's a sword type rather than a tome type, that's the dev's doing.

Is there a reason why the Tome is a Sword not well the Obvious Tome type?

I haven't been into DoD for a long time, partly because of all the other games to play, and partly because the frustration I have with so many of the vanilla classes teasing me with steampunky things and other awesome stuff.. and then having gameplay that sucks.

@DESU The game is pretty damn lighthearted and reference-full what with the FUS-RO-DAH and the traffic cone hat, plastic bolts, etc.. Wasn't supposed to be "LOL HILARIOUS", just an idea to prop up the sort of class I kept wishing was out there, pure passive buffs centered around increasing whatever kind of DPS you like.

I will be updating this within the next week - I'd taken a break from Dredmor (as I do with all games randomly here and there) but I plan to start playing again in the next few days. Expect rebalanced start items, rebalance on some skills, and at least one added skill. :D

It's a bit weird to have what appears to be a melee-buffing skill as a wizard skill, but whatever.
Both the spells are so weak as to be pointless, in my opinion, but that might jsut be because i'm playing as a warrior tytpe. Not sure though.

The base price is 14130, according to the wiki page. So even on going rogue, you're going to be selling it for 3249, at 23% of the base price- that's pretty significant when the most expensive starting items you normally get are randomised wands. I'd just outright remove the tome as a starting item and let the class rely on its stat bonus. The bolt's a decent flavour touch, though.

It's not worth thousands for me.. sells for like 150 or some shit I thought. You might be right about the damage bonuses, not sure. Perhaps you'd give your thoughts on what would be a more appropriate scale of bonuses, etc.?

Tome of Too Much Information on start is way overpowered. It's worth several thousand zorkmids no matter what difficulty you're on, not to mention the combat imbalances by granting you armour-bypassing damage from the start.
