Hi mate :)

Would it be possible for you to add, or alternatively make a separate version, of your great mod to do the following please?

It's to get rid of the useless 'ballistic' / 'arcing' trajectory that the hook takes after it's fired. This will make it it so it fires directly at the crosshairs position.

The dev said the following. It sounds a cinch if you're already into modding (whivh I'm not - as yet)

"That's easy. GetComponent<RigidBody>().Gravity = Vector3.Zero to the grappling hook"

So, the complete mod, would a) Fire straight ahead, b) Have no delay in the Cold Caverns etc.

Yes, that is what i mean.

A new SSD later, and i can use my computer... But still don't have any intention to install FC:E again, if someone wants to take this mod and add the functionality you spoke of, i'm perfectly fine with that.

While it could be, i don't have the game instaled nor do i have a computer that can even run it atm (My main computer is currently broken)

Define last patch, is it patch 16 or 17? And can you please provide an output log file to see if the mod is throwing an exception or not?

@Иḯкεƴ ∞Bad @Mythixdino The Mk3 Build Gun from the Frozen Factory Expansion only makes it possible to grapple all you want in the Cold Caverns, the Toxic Caverns and the Magma Caverns will need the Build Gun from their respective Expansion Pack DLCs (for the Magma Caverns, this will be the Molten Core Expansion (source) [www.patreon.com]).

This "Wait for 5 seconds in a small area" nearly killed the game for me as it doesn't make any god damn sense and is a tedious mechanic that completely negates the fun of the game, like so many other things in this game.
Good thing that there are modders out there that fix those stupid decisions of the devs.

You mean the DLC? I'll try once I get there. I read somewhere the Mk3 buildgun was able to use the grapple everywhere.

Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. You were right. I'm used to games where the client-side mod will be enabled automatically if the server has it. I didn't even know there was a mods button for connecing to a server.


I just had to enable the mod on the client.

Sounds like the Clients are not enabling this mod at all, or the way "LocalMods" works has been changed, so that mods like this don't work on multiplayer.

Ensure that the "clients" enable the mod before joining your server as well, there is no requirement for them to have it enabled to join.

Tried using this mod on a non-dedicated server. This works fine for the host, but fails to work for clients.

I can understand from a technical point of view why the grapple wouldnt work too well in the cold or magma caverns but the toxic caverns?

im happy that this was added in the past (when mods didnt exist in a steam workshop) i had problems i get closer to cold caverns and when im close like near my grappling will save me but i cant it has a delay so i Fall to my dealth
