I’ve only just started playing with this mod today, but so far I’ve had no issues.

I know this mod isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but it’s mine…so, thanks for making this mod for those of us that do like randomized content.

Thanks for the reminder. The crashing is fixed but something changed with 4.30 that makes the encyclopedia camera not spin correctly.

(caused by outdated rendertarget texture reference in md/LIB_RU_Presentation.xml)

Also, the ligting seems screwed. Everything is Oversaturated and in the same shade of color, Green.

Every time open the enyclopedia descripion of an item while in space the game crashes.

I can't remember why I excluded the standard systems, but I don't think it would be possible to reintergrate them into old save files of this extension. Also intergrating the extension systems into the standard game save files might be equally difficult.

my previous comment regarding mouse handling is not related to this mod, just the linux version of the game and my installation.

Is it possible to have a "Lite" version? I have 8GB RAM and this mod with the other mods i run in conjunction causes the game to freeze. Would absolutely LOVE a Lite version of this @Camus.

Is there a way for it to detect the unused systems and delete them? might fix any load times?

Yeah, it's by design to be that way. There are 96 new systems, 4 copies for each variation of the 24 systems. When you start a new game I have it randomly connect 1 copy of each to form the universe. All the other systems should be empty. Any performance impact should be minimal, but the load times are longer for some reason.

Hi Camus, when i discover the whole map by a mod i can see in the listing, that there are 106 new systems, while i can only see 24 in the galaxy map. But when i look to the numbers behind the T, i can see, there must be more than 1 in the same place. Are they at the same Y level? Can you bring light to this mystery? That could probably be the reason for the performance issues. Hope that helps you :-)

It can run with CWIR, but I don't know if all the CWIR features will work as expected.

I did a little bit of testing, but it didn't seem like there was any improvement from reducing traffic. I'll try to do some more testing and see if there are any other possible factors.

Hey camus! One thought that came to my mind when using SETA with your Mod. My FPS drop with SETA activated nearly below 1 (0.7 was my best drop by now :steammocking:), but that is not a problem. When SETA is deactivated, all returns to normal. So...this happened mainly in zones with dense traffic around stations and in zones with many stations. Could you try to reduce this "fake traffic" by at least 50%. Maybe reducing these ships could increase performance....!? Just a point blank shot :steamhappy:

That makes sense. SweetFX mods always seem to make visuals look darker in most games.

Just for info: I´ve played around with the X:R Reimagined Shader 2.0 and it makes the lighting look really better. The light intensity is tuned down a lot. You can find the Mod on nexusmods -> http://www.nexusmods.com/xrebirth/mods/322

Oops, i said 25-30 fps. That is only in good times, in bad times i have a slideshow. And there must be reasons why your mod in this state needs much more hardwarepower than vanilla game.
Lets try to find them. So i will carry on playing your mod, bc a new universe, esp such a big one, is really exciting.

Hi, i play your mod for 2 days now, inspired by spamjams lp, and i like it. But im having some trouble with it:
1. Since i reached rep 25 with argon government the start of the secret service missions pop up every few seconds with no chance to do it. That is very annoying. I tried to fix it in the savegame, but did not find anything. So the only way seems to be boarding or destroying a ship of arg gov to sink rep, or can you fix it?
2. I start the game with the option to use 8gb of memory and priority high for all 8 cores(amd), but
i only have a gtx 750 ti, so i lowered my x graphic settings for your mod, but my performance is very poor (25-30 fps). One reason could be the large number of rotating objects (asteroids), that is enormous in this giant universe. Can you have a look at that?
3. Seta breaks down my performance down to 0.3 fps. :-)

Well I made some more adjustments, but I don't have a clue what's wrong. It seems like some backgrounds are fine around the outside of a system, then if you move closer to the center the sunlight is more intense for some reason.

Just had a sneak peak with your update. Lighting seems a bit better now but still to "heavy". Can you reduce the light level or the number of lightsources in a system? maybe that helps. It all looks like if there are spotlights everywhere around each object. Even with the Asteroids... :steamhappy:

Great job! Will test it today with my next recording. Looking forward to see how lighting looks now. With your fix of the factions in T1 systems. Do I need to restart my current game from scratch or can I continue playing??

Okay, I've adjusted the lighting a little bit so hopefully that helps. I also fixed another big problem. Apparently I had the values for Teladi territory and Canteran territory mixed up. That means all the stations in T1 systems were the wrong factions. :steamsad:

Hmmm...I do get the impression that all objecst are in a full line of sight with multiple lightsources. For example stations, there are no shadows on them. Also the Skunk looks like if she is surrounded by several lightsources. Makes all looking a bit "sterile". Is this intentional or a problem with the engine when setting up random structures like this? Can confirm! Your new script to clean up the "vanilla" zones seems to work remarkably good. Started a new game and performance is waaaaay better now. Almost like in vanilla now. Save-/Load times have improved also. Great job. Keep up your work on this nice Mod..... :steamhappy:

I had a script to remove just ships and traffic, so I just made an update to remove stations as well. Hopefully that helps a little bit.

One suggestion here! Please have a look at the work from UniTrader in the Egosoft Forums. He created a mod called "X Fleet Fest". Without going into details now, one of his basic preparations for his mod was to "clean" the vanilla universe as far as possible. E. g. no stations, no traffic, no nothing in all the zones. By this, he managed to get the maximum performance out of the engine to be available for his mod. Maybe that can be also an approach for you to improve performance?! Great Mod. I´m currently testing it. Performance really is an issue, but it´s working. I´ve got an I7 with 16GB Ram and Geforce 970GTX but FPS seems to stay always below 28fps. With SINZA it´s dropping to around 7-10. Question: Did you just disable the "vanilla" Systems or did you really cleaned them out? Maybe that is an important factor when it comes to performance. I´ve tried Simooms Lantern an used the cheat "reveal Galaxy". When doing so, I can see the old systems on the Galaxy Map, in the background behind the new random systems. Also, when using this cheat the Secret Missions from Omicron Lyrae pop up. Therefore I guess you just disabled these systems.

Awesome mod I must say.
I was wondering though, If there is a way for you to do it.

Is it possible to have maybe 3 different gamestarts with various "AI-Station - population" intensities. Or otherwise background details.

As is now being set to high - and another 1-2 lower intensities that perhaps would/could aid preformence for people who maybe are just below the reccomended specs you know?

(Meaning I.e. Lets say in total there are 100 stations or otherwise AI controlled things across all sectors, - on medium being 75 and low maybe 50.)

I dont know how else to explain it so i hope you understand what I mean xP. This not nessecarily being only for stations but other things that contribute to lower preformence.
