Random Universe Redux

Description
Random Universe Redux introduces a new galaxy full of random possibities. Inspired by my older mod, Random Universe, the Redux version borrows many features from the original, while avoiding problems such as crashing and freezing.

Features:

- Galaxy of 24 Systems
- Randomized stations
- Randomized territory
- New Archaeologist NPC
- 4 Unique Types of Systems:
- Type 3 System (T3): Advanced stations / Fully developed highways
- Type 2 System (T2): Normal stations / Simple highway layout
- Type 1 System (T1): Basic stations / No highways
- Type 0 System (T0): Unexplored territory / No highways

To access the galaxy start a new game and select the "Random Universe Redux" option. From there you will randomly appear within the friendly territory of a T3 or T2 system. The original X:R galaxy is inaccessible in this game start, but you can still acquire the X-Perimental (Jumpdrive) mission by visiting a T3 system. The artifacts required for the Treasure Hunt (Mk5 Shield) mission can be found randomly throughout the galaxy and if needed the Archaeologist NPC can provide guidance. An archaelogist has a small chance of spawning on a station and is limited to only provide guidance for 1 artifact.

If you choose to traverse or explore a T1 or T0 system, pay close attenion to your surroundings. In T1 systems several nav beacons are placed around the boundaries of each zone. They can be used to help point yourself in a general direction. T0 systems don't have nav beacons, but their zones are labeled with cooridinates that give a decent clue as to where you can go.

Notes:

- Redux is not compatible with the original mod
- Load times are slightly increased (includes regular games)
- Greater than 8GB RAM is recommeded to improve performance

I’ve only just started playing with this mod today, but so far I’ve had no issues.

I know this mod isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but it’s mine…so, thanks for making this mod for those of us that do like randomized content.

Thanks for the reminder. The crashing is fixed but something changed with 4.30 that makes the encyclopedia camera not spin correctly.

You landed on this page because we have detected a crash in "X Rebirth".

We are aware that the crash can occur with some mods and is not known at the moment to occur if running the game without any mods installed.
Known mods which trigger the crash atm are:

Random Universe Redux (version 205) - crashes when opening the encyclopedia from the small ship dealer's ship info menu
(caused by outdated rendertarget texture reference in md/LIB_RU_Presentation.xml)
If you ended up on this page and have that mod installed, please contact the mod author for further support.

I can't remember why I excluded the standard systems, but I don't think it would be possible to reintergrate them into old save files of this extension. Also intergrating the extension systems into the standard game save files might be equally difficult.

Hallo, ich finde, du solltest die Standartsysteme drinne lassen und deine Systeme als Erweiterung einbauen.

Oh, that's good.

my previous comment regarding mouse handling is not related to this mod, just the linux version of the game and my installation.

Gave it a try. Seems to work. But my linux installation is playing tricks on me with mouse handling... Thanks for the awesome job @camus !
