I liked this mod, but the AI seemed to build bunches and bunches of them...

I was hoping for a solution to the scouts upgrading to archers when they explore some ancient ruins. I really hate that. I'd rather them go to pioneers.

I cannot use 'auto-explore' (E) with the added units....

@burkeyturkey: good work creating an interesting MOD.
@Noisyfireknight: ancient ruin upgrade to archer is part of the base game.
@Magscorch: This would be over powered in the base game - Archaeologists take a while to build and can't be purchased. With Explorers upgrading into Archaologists, a player can buy Explorers right before finishing the Archaeology tech, then pay to upgrade their Explorers, giving a huge boost towards a cultural victory.

I've found a little glitch/oversight. Moving scouts to an anicent ruin with advanced weapons still upgrades them to archers. As OP as that is, it that intended?

Yo, thanks for this mod! It makes a lot of sense and honestly should already exist.

Wish this was already in the game

This does affect games created before installing the mod, right? Unless it's NOT supposed to do that, I'm having a problem. It's not working :steamsad: halp.

Nice idea very nice really
I have been using the scout upgrade path to archer...then crossbow and finally artillary, using a couple of mods for this
But your mod gives the scout a distinctive personality now that may be hard to resist when I reinform myself about all the available mods and make a new choice of about 50 mods to use when playing
This approach has kept CivV vivid enough to play for more years than I would have expected
I appreciate your mod here and the way it distinguishes the scout in a special way not seen before
