@Noisyfireknight: ancient ruin upgrade to archer is part of the base game.
@Magscorch: This would be over powered in the base game - Archaeologists take a while to build and can't be purchased. With Explorers upgrading into Archaologists, a player can buy Explorers right before finishing the Archaeology tech, then pay to upgrade their Explorers, giving a huge boost towards a cultural victory.
I have been using the scout upgrade path to archer...then crossbow and finally artillary, using a couple of mods for this
But your mod gives the scout a distinctive personality now that may be hard to resist when I reinform myself about all the available mods and make a new choice of about 50 mods to use when playing
This approach has kept CivV vivid enough to play for more years than I would have expected
I appreciate your mod here and the way it distinguishes the scout in a special way not seen before
