Info: In german it's better called "Verfehlchance" from the verb "verfehlen" - "vermissen" in your way used is more like the meaning of missing the enemy emotionally, like if you are in love with the aliens... some maybe are, but...nah, it's not SIMS. ^_^ (until someone mods it this way o_O)

Conflict: in my case the mod works half - it shows the text but not the percentage number, i think it conflicts with "Lifetime Stats" or/and "enhanced hit chance display" mod.

@BludeRaja: I'm looking into this, but the hooks are pretty limited, and there doesn't seem to be one for update, only init and focus.... I'll try tho

You should be able to do this with a UIScreenListener without overriding any classes, which would make it compatible with other mods such as this , making mods like this unnecessary.

They have an example of how to replace a UIScreen using a UIScreenListener in the documentation.

Personally I liked it more when it didn't show anything. Having a 0% chance to miss just looks redundant.

When you pass zero to the native function it doesn't display anything, and I can't change the natvie code. :/

Please can you make it display as 0% chance to miss when there is more than 100% chance to hit (at the moment it looks something like 0.004)?

@Tsundak: Thanks for that very helpful bug report! When hit is over 100%, miss went to below 0%, and negative numbers are apparently treated as "do not display". Bug shoud be fixed now! :D:

What this really needs is for the miss chance to display in fractions rather than as a percentage. Failing a 1/10 chance to miss would be a lot less frustrating than 10%.

BTW, I just noticed a little problem. The 'Chance To MISS' wasn't showing and I think it was because I had 102% chance to hit! Is there a way to add a screenshot here?

This is great! When I see 65% chance to hit, I usually just go for it but if I see 35% chance to miss, it makes me consider trying something else. Thank you for a simple, yet awesome mod :D

AlexMBrennan - No, it's more of a psychological change. People think differently when the same information is presented but with a negative vs. positive bent. In certain situations that can be advantageous.

Now that I see you fiddle with aim... I was wondering how hard it would be to create a mod that instead of having a % of hit/miss you would always hit but the damage would change depending on how good the shot is.

Example:
no mod: 80% to hit for 5 damage
mod: 100% to hit for 5*0.8 (4) damage

This would help remove the stupid RNG element when all in all the outcome is statistically the same, just predictable.

Actually it's technically worse for the player because there's mechanisms in almost all dificulties to prevent bad RNG streaks so you wouldn't be getting those "accuracy boosts".

Had a 0% chance to miss on one of my shots, and it hit, so yeah it's accurate. Though I am in favor of having both options up at once; judging by the description though, all this does is change how some strings are parsed, no additions to the UI.

Oh and btw, you should actually switch "chance to miss" with " chance to hit", because some people might get confused and forget about the fact that it actually shows the miss chance instead of hit chance.

Just keep the "chance to miss" beside the main UI. That'd be better imo!

Very interesting idea. Definitely a gamechanger in terms of mindset, since it makes you think more about the risk and less about the "what if I make that shot?".
