Is it possible to change the rate at how fast you zoom in and out? Great mod btw!
Albertine_Crowley 31 Oct, 2018 @ 3:06pm

WotC edition has been published here: http://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1128430976

Please rate up the new mod to help people find the newer version.

+1 same issue with auto zoom in which is why I came here to see how this was doing for wotc since with the default zoom I can't always check LOS.
Dragon32 31 Aug, 2017 @ 11:55am
@Ed:
Very probably, check the LW 2 XComCamera.ini file to see if they alter the same value. See my previous post.
Sammarok-GoodGaming 31 Aug, 2017 @ 2:47am
Ok, I fixed my issue just changing the defaultcamera.ini for WOTC. Here what I did in case someone is having the same issue and want a solution: http://gtm.steamproxy.vip/app/268500/discussions/0/1473095331511354152/
Sammarok-GoodGaming 30 Aug, 2017 @ 7:11pm
Forgot to mention, I am playign WOTC with no mods installed. I did already deleted all save games, , clean up ini files, removed workshop files from steam folder etc etc. Is very strange because I never had this on XCOM 2 before, the Zoom Out was always statying where I left it. I had to Zoom Out only once per tactical map.
Sammarok-GoodGaming 30 Aug, 2017 @ 7:04pm
Hi, sorry to ask here, but I am having an issue with WOTC Camera Zoom Out. When I Zoom Out (with G), the camera reset to the default Zoom In every time I kill an enemy, discover a pod, or throw a grande etc. I have to Zoom Out every bloody turn basically or after taking an action (ie. shooting at advent etc.).

Can someone please help me? I am getting mad having to press G every time. Thank you :steamhappy:
Dragon32 30 Aug, 2017 @ 12:05pm
Should work fine with WoTC.

Steam\SteamApps\common\XCOM 2\XCom2-WarOfTheChosen\XComGame\Config\DefaultCamera.ini
[XComGame.X2Camera_LookAt]
ZoomedDistanceFromCursor=2600

Exactly the same as vanilla.

Just need to hack my keybindings to get zoom working with the mouse.
macelharen 30 Aug, 2017 @ 7:37am
yeah, sorry Dragon. i was a bit rude and vague. Guess i should have said, "for those of you who'd like a less jarring experience when zooming out, and less annoying than 'free camera rotation', can try out Grimy's hotkeys
Nasarog 30 Aug, 2017 @ 4:54am
Thanks. WotC really really needs this one.
Nashable  [author] 30 Aug, 2017 @ 12:34am
Not had a chance yet to dig into modding but its likely a new version (i.e. different mod) will have to be published to support WOTC.
Nasarog 29 Aug, 2017 @ 11:29am
Willl this be updated for War of the Chosen?
Dragon32 27 Aug, 2017 @ 3:27am
@macelharen:
Really not sure what you mean. This mod simply changes one INI value to 5000 from vanilla's 2600. Admittedly if you're using "Free Camera Rotation" then the value's set to 5024.
macelharen 27 Aug, 2017 @ 2:04am
ehhhh...i have to give a thumbs down to this mod. the vanilla options are alot better, and when you have other options making this obsolete. well..*shrug*
Lampros 11 Aug, 2017 @ 4:04am
Does this mod cause your soldiers to slide and teleport around when you shoot? This is one of the only 3 mods that I downloaded recently, so I am wondering if this is the culprit.
pingpong 9 May, 2017 @ 9:16pm
@Dragon32

Made the edits as you suggested and it worked!!

Big thank you from me and my Squad Sight Snipers!
Dragon32 9 May, 2017 @ 11:09am
@pingponmg:
AFAIK locally installed mods load before Workshop mods.

For some reason LW 2 sets ZoomedDistanceFromCursor to the same value as vanilla (2600). If it loads after this mod (5000) then the vanilla value will take precedence.

Easiest thing would be to alter LW 2's XComCamera.ini, but it could get overwritten when that mod updates.

Or you could try altering load order of your mods with the Alternate Mod Launcher - https://github.com/X2CommunityCore/xcom2-launcher
pingpong 8 May, 2017 @ 9:44pm
I am running LW2 and I find there to be no difference in the Zoom Levels with or without this mod. I even tried to install this by downloading it directly from NexusMods and then extracting into the \Steam\steamapps\common\XCOM 2\ folder (even tried to take the "TacticalZoomOut" folder out of the "Mods" folder as was suggested on the NexusMods comments), but with no success.

Please help!
Fx_oO7 30 Jan, 2017 @ 1:42am
@SouthLane
Does it work now?
LeftPaw 30 Jan, 2017 @ 1:36am
Cheers Fx. ;)
Fx_oO7 30 Jan, 2017 @ 12:01am
@SouthLane
Try to take the nexus version and put in the Xcom mod folder.
It works like that.
LeftPaw 29 Jan, 2017 @ 11:58pm
Not working in LW2 for me.
Fx_oO7 27 Jan, 2017 @ 2:31am
For me it works on LW2.
On the other hand, LW2 is in my mod folder and not in the workshop because some mod did not work if I put it in the workshop while it works with LW2 in the mod folder.
Dragon32 21 Jan, 2017 @ 5:39pm
@Gerishnakov:
Try unsubscribing and resubscribing to this mod. For some reason LW 2 has the default value for ZoomedDistanceFromCursor set in its XComCamera.ini

Or comment out that line in the LW 2 INI
Gerishnakov 21 Jan, 2017 @ 1:07pm
Definitely not compatible with LW2 :(
ultimentra 2 Jul, 2016 @ 10:52am
Compatibility check- new DLC is out
Cyph 14 May, 2016 @ 1:29pm
FYI... I had to uncheck this mod and recheck it to fix the map screen lag after the latest patch.
Vertani 10 Apr, 2016 @ 8:10pm
In general this mod is great, and tremendously useful; but it does have a few minor glitches. One is that if you try to zoom "in" past the minimum distance you can get really weird results that flip the rendering inside out or something; another is that it appears to be associated with visual artifacts in certain missions (for me, the final mission was especially bad).
Phantom 8 Apr, 2016 @ 11:28am
Does this also work with steam and xbox controllers?
bornity 3 Mar, 2016 @ 11:42am
@Nashable great mod! I have encountered a bug: With the mod on, I cannot save Shortcuts. I make a change to allow the mouse wheel to zoom (T and G) and save. However it doesn't save. Resetting to default also doesn't restore the default shortcuts. Once I'm finished with my current campaign I can dig into it more, I just know that by disabling this mod I was able to save my shortcuts again. Thanks!
Nashable  [author] 29 Feb, 2016 @ 12:16am
@Kienan Make sure you uninstall all camera mods, its very likely other mods have incorporated my edits into their mods as well.
Kienan 28 Feb, 2016 @ 9:01pm
In the change notes it mentions you found a new way of changing the zoom level. What is that way, and how I can undo it? I installed, then uninstalled, but it didn't uninstall cleanly, so I currently have a larger max zoom than I'd like. Thanks.
pingpong 23 Feb, 2016 @ 7:27pm
@Nashable thanks for the great mod! Is it possible to add an additional option to your mod so that there is an intermediate "zoom out level" (eg the original default zoom out) as well? I often find that a lower level of zoom for better on screen details would be helpful.
Nashable  [author] 19 Feb, 2016 @ 10:23pm
@ste00ve - Please list your mods when reporting bugs.
ste00ve 19 Feb, 2016 @ 2:48am
Just started a new game & the camera movement is back to the vanilla
Hijinks 18 Feb, 2016 @ 1:31pm
Hey, question that sort of concerns me a bit; So if i download this, but also have that other mod, the free camera rotation mod, While both mods have the T and G keys modded to zoom better, will one or the other mods interfere with eachother for the zooming? Or have they been tested together for them to work?
Morgade 17 Feb, 2016 @ 3:43am
Will do that when I can.
Nashable  [author] 17 Feb, 2016 @ 1:43am
@The_Psychocat - Also just in case load order is important, unsub from both mods. Then sub to my one and then to the other mod in that order.
Nashable  [author] 17 Feb, 2016 @ 1:42am
@The_Psychocat Can you list all the mods you have. I'm not touching anything in my mod that should conflict with the free camera angles mod. Also anyone else reading this can you please confirm if you're having this same issue as well?
Morgade 17 Feb, 2016 @ 1:22am
@Nashable When I activate both mods, the camera angles go back to vanilla, basically it cancels out the mod. When I deactivated this mod, the other started working again.
Nashable  [author] 16 Feb, 2016 @ 6:15pm
@The_Psychocat - What issues are you having? I run both mods and have not had any compatiblility issues.
Morgade 16 Feb, 2016 @ 6:03pm
Isn't compatible with the free camera rotation mod. Looks nice otherwise !
Kai 14 Feb, 2016 @ 8:47am
You can hold down Z to zoom out fully too.
Kai 14 Feb, 2016 @ 8:47am
Isn't there a way to alter the tactical camera's angle so you can look from a almost 'top down' perspective?
C-Fox 13 Feb, 2016 @ 7:45pm
Thank you for this.
Invisi 13 Feb, 2016 @ 1:47pm
@Nash, we would like to know if you would be interested in tweaking those old Ufo x-com classic games (terror from the deep) so we can running them in a window or in high-resolution? :DarkOphelia:
aetherlift 13 Feb, 2016 @ 11:54am
any way to increase the amount of zoom steps? each tick changes the zoom by quite a large amount. either way, thanks! this is really useful
mo_mentum 13 Feb, 2016 @ 11:30am
@Nashable - yoo it worked with T and G. Big thanks man.
