Nice map, but one issue: rivers in the desert are missing flood plains.

Decent map was fun

not working. There is an endless loading map.

A suggestion, since this will end up being used for a lot of native american civ heavy games: Add a tile or two of lakes where the lakes in the valley of mexico used to be for the aztecs, since their core cities were all built around those lakes.
Graorgh 11 Jan, 2017 @ 6:57am
It would be even better with realistic civs and starting points :)

This is a great map and I was hoping, if the creator or any capable civ5 map creator still reads comments after all this spam, to make a request. An old world realistic and historic Earth map would be awesome and I haven't been able to find one yet for civ5. It would range from western Europe to eastern Asia or Australia (Best would be from Iceland to New Zealand). Anyway thanks for some of the best maps for civ5.

I don't know if the creator is still reading comments on this mod, after such spamrace, but I will try anyway.
I think we need a bit or hills in the south america, for the gameplay part! There is so much grasslands/jungles and settling a new city here resoults in a city with 1 production(no capital city) which is really boring for your second city! Great job for everything else, the map is awesome and soooo big!

Are Natural Wonders fixed in place in their real position, or are they random? Thanks for the map!

How many civs should be on this map?
Shader 16 Jan, 2016 @ 6:46am
With how many players should I play on this map? 18, 20 or 22?

It should be sufficient to start playing this map.

How about your processor? (You'll find it at the same place as RAM).
Karma_lord111 16 Dec, 2015 @ 8:20pm
Ok... It seems the RAM is my problem. Only 4GB...
76561198031166368  [author] 16 Dec, 2015 @ 6:43pm
Well, then try this (if you can) : try shutting down programs that you don't really need when playing this game.

I usually have Winamp playing some music of my own choice in the background, but when having these max. size maps, it slows the game down a bit.

Also, you can see the amount of RAM on your machine through the Start menu's Settings -> System -> Information.
Karma_lord111 16 Dec, 2015 @ 5:40pm
Yeah... I have W10 and a speedy graphic converter but I don't know the Gb amount!
76561198031166368  [author] 15 Dec, 2015 @ 8:22pm
What is your directX version?

I recommend 11.

I have Windows 10, it's directX version is 12. Also, 16Gb memory, and a decent graphics card.
Karma_lord111 15 Dec, 2015 @ 8:06pm
It's a really good concept, but as I start it, the game won't let me play it and blacks out... What can I do?
76561198031166368  [author] 14 Dec, 2015 @ 10:34pm
Well, it's a secret... but I can tell you Civ4 maps have something to do with it (then a lot of testing).

A few "borders" I can tell you, 180 seems to be the width maximum of any map (that game accepts).

128 is the height "border" (game won't stop loading), but you can always go over or under it.
ucfhetman 14 Dec, 2015 @ 10:16pm
How did you make map exceed 128? I tried changing XML values for X and Y grid, still 128*80 was the limit.
76561198031166368  [author] 14 Dec, 2015 @ 3:57am
Thanks!

It's now based on true maps of vegetation of both Americas (I try to be precise).

Although I didn't touch most of it's shape, but I had to draw a lot all over, and try to keep the gameplay in mind.

I always test the map after I'm finished, just to see how it looks in the game, are there passes through the mountain ranges, is the coastline realistic looking enough etc.
Birdy 14 Dec, 2015 @ 3:37am
Ive been playing washington on rhis map and its amazingly good, with a balenced nature and a stunning landscape.
joebob 12 Dec, 2015 @ 6:41am
If you're not seeing the map, move the map file from your MODS folder to the MAPS folder.
76561198031166368  [author] 12 Dec, 2015 @ 3:16am
humeq, Linux... Sorry, no experience on that.

Tristancp, there should be a subfolder with this maps name in your MODS folder, and there the map itself (Americas 128 x 155.Civ5Map).
