Palladin888: read description..
'Menus' under game settings has to be set to HUD
Palladin888 8 Apr, 2018 @ 11:04am
With this mod turned on I can not hire Cap ship crew.
stndbye  [author] 6 Jan, 2018 @ 12:55pm
@janda: i will look into it when i fix the error with the patch.
Maybe ill make a light and heavy version even if i have the time.
janda 4 Jan, 2018 @ 1:16am
Any chance to get an update which removes messages thanking me to kill an enemy of a station?
aladinaleks 21 Dec, 2017 @ 11:42am
At the moment, no. ))
stndbye  [author] 21 Dec, 2017 @ 10:37am
Thanks aladinaleks! Will fix soon. Judging from the error message it does no harm to the gameplay/
Have you maybe noticed that any unnecessary speech appeared which blocks ui access or annoying otherwise?

I was not missing them, I hadn't even installed yet. Thank you, I will try it that way.
stndbye  [author] 5 Dec, 2017 @ 1:28pm
What are the lines you are missing with the mod?
Smalltalk is not changed.
If you only want to remove the trade complete info message then only keep the aiscripts folder.
Patola [Linux] 4 Dec, 2017 @ 11:07am
The only thing I really don't like in the game are the endless interruptions from trade messages when you are interested e.g. in inspecting an enemy of check surface elements in a boarding operation; they make you lose precious seconds. I reckon your mod removes them, but I for certainly do not want anything else removed, not even the repetitive smalltalk voices. I am trying to figure out which files affect what, but failing. Do you mind giving a few directions for me to do that? I already downloaded the version from egosoft forum.
stndbye  [author] 8 Aug, 2017 @ 10:51am
have fun, and gj =)
Byzod 8 Aug, 2017 @ 4:32am
@stndbye Lol sorry I didn't saw "version from egosoft forum"

Now I downloaded and modified it, works well, but I think the name of my modded version should be 'FasterShopping':

I deleted everything that remove npc_line, only those lines with `@hidechoices` and `[@line='12']` remains. I tried to make the crew farewell no longer blocking the UI while keep the voice but failed, so I leave it as it was. The good news is that I don't fire someone often so that won't be a big problem.

As a result, the modded version is no longer silence anything except line 12, `good bye` of traders which makes exiting shopping faster :eselphine:
But this still saves TONs of time (when resupply missiles, mostly), thanks for your tip again!
Byzod 8 Aug, 2017 @ 1:57am
@stndbye Hey thanks for the tip! But the mod in steam folder is something like:
content.xml
ext_01.cat
ext_01.dat

Many lines in that .cat file like:
md/GM_Cache_Sale.xml 268 1447547218 f41486022c757f8a405e1f7cf4e86e92
md/GM_Clear_Explosives.xml 580 1447547218 df0977cb624964e3c8e3e98c9be4f831
md/GM_Collect_Crafted_Item.xml 1045 1447547218 5899ece57680e311235a8247a7c94035
md/GM_Collect_Loot.xml 970 1447547220 34edfd71cde245633a4b2bd6687f841b

The content of .dat file seems like plain xml file.
Can I just delete corresponding lines in "ext_01.cat"?
Do I have to delete corresponding contents in "ext_01.dat" too?
stndbye  [author] 7 Aug, 2017 @ 10:38am
@Byzod> You can easily achieve that:
Download the version from egosoft forums, and you will find many files in the 'md' folder named like NPC_Licencetrader.xml, NPC_Upgradetrader.xml etc.
Just remove the ones for which you would like to keep the voice and its done.
Unsubscribe from the steam version, so your modified package will not be overwritten with the one from steam.
Byzod 7 Aug, 2017 @ 4:43am
I don't mind if NPC & Ren are chatty but I hate the voice blocking the UI
Greeting & chatting in every purchasing is OK for me and I think it's sort of immersive

I really hope there is a 'Lite' version that only removes the conversions that blocks UI control (e.g. the farewell after firing a crew, the conversion after closing the quest detail)
stndbye  [author] 13 May, 2017 @ 6:40am
If you want to keep updates, you could change the id="ws_552011927" to something different in content xml. Then it wont find the steam counterpart.
Henamor 12 May, 2017 @ 9:17pm
Thanks I got it to work also had to turn off updates in the main menu or it would resub and download the steam version.
stndbye  [author] 12 May, 2017 @ 10:36am
@InertFurry:
Unfortunately voice playback stops you from accessing the UI (even the next choice in the convo).
Also subtitles are linked to voice playback length.
I think the only way would be to use the hint feature and skip audio entirely if one wants to get rid of all the waiting.
It would look worse, and would have to be silent - not sure it makes sense to do that.
I check on it later, if a simple modification can be used that does not involve reentering all the text (as the game text files dont contain the full speech, just a hint that is often even misleading), then i might make a separate mod out of it.
stndbye  [author] 12 May, 2017 @ 10:20am
@Henamor: oh and dont forget to unsub from the steam version, otherwise steam will probably overwrite the forum version on first load.
stndbye  [author] 12 May, 2017 @ 10:18am
@Henamor:
Download the version from EGO forum because that contains the separate files, the steam version merges all the files into the .dat file.
Plus there is a hash for each contained file in the .cat, which would cause the whole mod to redownload and reset on first load after you touch it.
Henamor 10 May, 2017 @ 4:37pm
I'm not sure how you remove the "sending coordinates to following ships" line. There isn't a Notifications.xml in the extention folder only ext_01.cat and .dat. I tryied editing .dat with notepad ++ and think I found the right place. It was the 35th <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> line which seem to line up with the list in the .cat file but it didn't work.
InertFurry 14 Mar, 2017 @ 3:46pm
I mean the smalltalk minigame. I don't have anything against the minigame itself and trawling stations is a great option for early game money and with a mod I use, relatively cheap trade updates. It would be great for standings as well, and considerably more towards worthwhile if smalltalk wasn't 90% wait and 10% game.
stndbye  [author] 14 Mar, 2017 @ 12:27pm
@ghorlist: if you mean stations whining about getting attacked, its not completely suppressed but you can control the skunk while it plays, and the amount of chatter has been reduced: there is no conversation about otani files or such things - just a single line of warning.
If you mean your assets crying about being attacked, those are not silenced either (but control is possible).
stndbye  [author] 14 Mar, 2017 @ 12:27pm
@InertFurry: If you want to skip the smalltalk voice its more or less pointless to play that minigame. There are several mods of different flavors that make smalltalk entirely optional - i'd use some of those.
Anyway even if the audio is skipped, the UI will wait and not allow you to respond again.. you can only control the skunk or ren but not access the UI while the voice would play.
It would be possible to rewrite the whole thing to only show subtitles and allow the next choice immediately, but its a lot of work and wont make smalltalk any better, just quicker.
And the quickest is to not smalltalk, but use some mods instead.
ghorlist 11 Mar, 2017 @ 8:25am
Anyone know if this blocks the "station under attack" messages?
InertFurry 6 Mar, 2017 @ 4:52pm
Sad that it's been so long and nobody's made something to make the smalltalk minigame skip the repetitive voice lines...
Mr. Giggles 26 Dec, 2016 @ 4:12pm
Show me your wears please!
stndbye  [author] 11 Dec, 2016 @ 5:25am
It wasn't removed because it has a function - opposed to all the voice the mod skips - it warns player that there are still ships in the squad.
I found that useful on several occasions when heading into hostile zones, it saved quite a few of my trade ships already xD
You can silence it easily though, just expand Notifications.xml with this line (add it just before the </diff> line):

<remove sel="(//speak[@actor='player.copilot' and @line='[10240, 10243].random'])[1]"/>

D55 11 Dec, 2016 @ 12:42am
Any chance of making it so Yisha stops saying "sending coordinates to following ships" every time i change zone or leave a super highway?
This is the single most annoying thing left for me in game, cant understand why it wasnt removed?
stndbye  [author] 26 Nov, 2016 @ 2:53pm
Be advised that there are people who cant read the description.
(turn menu to hud, and l2r a few lines of text)
gamer 26 Nov, 2016 @ 11:06am
So yesterday I installed this mod and the shut up ren mod. Interestingly enough the skills were no longer displayed for available crew after installing after requesting to see them via comm menu. I thought it was from the shut up ren mod, and deleted the extension files and uninstalled it as well, even restarted a new game and no luck. It was actually from this mod, once I uninstalled it and deleted the local extensions file for it I was again able to view available crew skills via comms menu. Be advised that this mod will completely remove the ability to see skills for available crew requested via the comms menu for 4.0. Not sure about earlier versions, but for 4.0 it breaks that ability completely.
✠Deser✞🅵☣⚔⚔♏✠ 26 Oct, 2016 @ 12:49am
cool
stndbye  [author] 25 Oct, 2016 @ 11:51pm
No, those messages are only shortened, and a one liner is kept (removed the voice about sendnig files on otani).
✠Deser✞🅵☣⚔⚔♏✠ 25 Oct, 2016 @ 1:51pm
Does this work for excessive tattling? Example, 10 drones start trying to shoot me through my cock pit; i kill them all; next thing you hear is we wont stand for this unprovoked behavior XD. Station command sending report on Ren Otani he is being a mean poopoohead again, "yea he's a known bad as<s".
stndbye  [author] 25 Oct, 2016 @ 1:39am
Removed Yisha's cargo collect voice lines, reduced lootmagnet sfx volume.
Whiskeyjack 1 Aug, 2016 @ 4:43pm
These voiceovers ("Cargo secured in hold" and "It's been secured in storage") do exist in vanilla game (4.0). I just thought SYA might disable them and there is some kind of compatibility issue or a bug.
stndbye  [author] 29 Jul, 2016 @ 12:35pm
Thanks, whose cat is ruby!

@Flybyloot: is it possible there was a patch and ES added a voiceover there?
Anyone has this issue who plays vanilla?
Whiskeyjack 25 Jul, 2016 @ 11:13am
Yisha won't shut up about loot picking. I also use Fly-by looting, but tried to uninstall it and she still comment (in a voice, not just text message) whenever i manually pick up loot from destroyed ships. I don't have any other communication or looting related mods installed.
rubyismycat 23 Jul, 2016 @ 3:47pm
the best mod ever made for the worst game ever made i approve!
stndbye  [author] 20 Jul, 2016 @ 2:03pm
I think you should ask the author of flyby looting, picking up containers only triggers a text msg in vanilla which does not break seta.
I'd guess flybylooting does something more/different that seta doesn't like.
STB2199 19 Jul, 2016 @ 5:21am
Have a Mod installed Fly by looting, anytime Loot comes on board, the SETA Interrupted is. Can you Loot message also disable.
is a good mod that you have
stndbye  [author] 25 Apr, 2016 @ 9:16am
Oh, i forgot about withdraw requests - when a station runs out of money the game should still trigger a conversation with the manager and break SETA.
If you experience a different behaviour please let me know - that is considered a bug.
stndbye  [author] 24 Apr, 2016 @ 7:25pm
Disabled money transfer related messages, replaced them with a single text message on the detail monitor.
Also removed the ready to take on wares/deal struck here nonsense that got introduced since i last checked. Where do these things keep coming from...o,O

Game should be much more SETA friendly now.

Since i had to rework parts of the money transfer code, i also added the station name to the log message. It's likely that SYA cancels out any similar features of other mods.

@Zapper: Thanks for the suggestions, for now i have no time to code a proper UI for this.
Still, this update should fix most issues you mentioned.
Hope noone will miss the UI toggle, dont think the possibility for budget interaction made much sense when receiving the surplus - and SYA provides more info then vanilla by telling you the station name as wel...

The Zapper 11 Apr, 2016 @ 11:35am
Great Mod. Helps. A LOT!

However, in my large empire, there's still a "LOT" going on that would be good if SYA also addressed:

- Rep Gains {toggleable - ON/OFF}.
- Rep Losses { toggleable - ON/OFF, or by faction}.
- Payment Received HUD interruptions.
- Suggestion: configurable by a min amount. I have a $5B Empire. I dont care if someone deposits or withdraws 5K., etc.
- HUD interuptions and soundtracks coming from factory managers when they report they "made a profit" and asking to deposit into your account.
- Perhaps make this configurable as well.
- Debt withdrawal notifications coming from factories or tradeships. {configuable}
- Trade Complete messages. {configuable on a per-cap-trade-ship basis?}
- Messages coming from the popular "auto-trade" mods.
- Account updated message (similar to Withdrawal/payment received above}.
- Perhaps 'add' a CAP SHIP destroyed message.?

TZ. :split:
stndbye  [author] 31 Mar, 2016 @ 1:43pm
I know, but i wont enable the 'Show me your skills' line. I just hate it.

It's much better to turn the menu setting to hud. That also solves the issue of getting motion sickness from ren turning his head every time when the game menus are accessed.

..so to reiterate again for people struggling with eyesight issues or other problems:
TURN MENU OPTION TO HUD.
Meme Turtle 29 Mar, 2016 @ 2:27am
Regarding problems with show skills option. I have removed these lines from MainMenu.xml:
<remove sel="(//add_npc_line[@line='1130'])[1]"/>
<remove sel="(//add_npc_line[@line='1110'])[1]"/>
<remove sel="(//add_npc_line[@line='4119'])[1]"/>
and was able to see skills of NPCs again with Side Bar. Other conversation options are unaffected. NPCs respond silently to your requests, except when asking to see their skills.

Or simply use HUD menus instead of Side Bar as the author has suggested.
stndbye  [author] 17 Mar, 2016 @ 11:59am
@kelmenwong: i missed your question - i never used those mods, but Ren or Yisha does not really speak with this mod, and voiceovers while issuing commands are also muted.
Plot is unaffected ofc.
kelmenwong 14 Mar, 2016 @ 9:23am
@stn tested with the campaign plot, not reproducable, nothing wrong with ur mod
it's something else on my end
