@Boomer It's not a map, so that's probably why it doesn't appear when you go to "load map". What you need to do it go in your animation set editor window, click the plus sign and go to "add animation set for new model", and then type in what part of it you want to use. Remember, if it has MDL at the end, it's usually an actual model and not a map. Hope this helps!

@Justincreator (below comment) I personally used Huge Void XL for my renders.

White Void, despite being really bright looking, actually has no lighting. Any model placed in there will appear black (unless of course you disable lighting or add some lights) IIRC.

My general workflow was to disable lighting in the viewport to make scene-building easy. I arrange all my models and start putting together the scene. Then start implementing lighting manually by placing sources in natural places (through windows to cast shadows and overhead outside the model to create faked global illumnation or bounce lighting).

I'm hoping to try and release my session files sometime soon to serve as as starting point or reference for people.

I'm curious, what map did you construct this in? Is it White Void? And if so, did you have to do anything so the lighting would not affect the model? When I load the main, it appears black unless I turn the lighting off. Is the lighting supposed to be unchecked for say, any renders or images or videos made?

Ok as someone who is still learning how to SFM, how do you put this together? I go to load map and nothing appears, but I've only ever used BSP files.
