Report a translation problem
White Void, despite being really bright looking, actually has no lighting. Any model placed in there will appear black (unless of course you disable lighting or add some lights) IIRC.
My general workflow was to disable lighting in the viewport to make scene-building easy. I arrange all my models and start putting together the scene. Then start implementing lighting manually by placing sources in natural places (through windows to cast shadows and overhead outside the model to create faked global illumnation or bounce lighting).
I'm hoping to try and release my session files sometime soon to serve as as starting point or reference for people.
