But yeah, it's not just "decorative", it improves something. Or it should :|
I put it there when I updated the mod allowing some upgrades, etc...
For owning the restaurant you just have to read the book inside, where the previous owner explains the building, etc....
Hope it clear things up.
Anyway I noticed that some times the paper falls, so are you sure it didn't go somewhere around the grass?
I didn't update the mod anyway...
Hi, and thanks for your concern. Unfortunately I'm still unemployed... still "hired" by the company (as it cannot fire me due to the special situation), but with just the basic income from the government..
Anyway even if my economic situation is bad, I haven't stopped working for around 22 years until now, so it's some kind of "retirement Demo". Nine months doing absolutely nothing... it certainly helped getting my job stress levels low.
About your numbers on the mod, they are correct. Maybe the notebook is not clear enough indeed.
Regards!
I also checket the thing about Beef, and I think where the confusion came from, because I checked the math, in the Notebook it says with beef, "same as above but sell for 20" so then you would think (without checking with the oven) that you get 5 Beef steaks for the house from 1 beef.
But actually like you writhe you get 20 so the math works somthing like this:
Beef Buy for 150 each, make 20 processed food, sell for 20 each, so for every Beef you buy you make a profit of 250. (20*20-150)
So it works out but just in the notebook its writen wrong, or i just don't understand it right >.<.
I also hope the best for you, and that your personal situation will get better in the forseeable future if it didn't acually happen already
I just checked the mod on the CK, and here's what I saw:
Venison piece (buy): 30
Venison steak (sell): 15
Beef piece (buy): 150
Beef steak (sell): 20
I wasn't able to find the code to see how many steaks are created, but you can see that ingame when cooking, after they add to your inventory.
Basically, for the venison for instance, after two steaks, the rest is all profit. In the case of beef, you need to sell around 8 steaks before you can start to make profit.
These sell prices get calculated when opening the safe box (also important to be patient here, because the script can take a long time sometimes).
And just to show another example of the logic applied:
Salmon piece (buy): 20
Salmon steak (sell): 8
So after 2-3 steaks, the rest is profit.
It should be the same with the rest of ingredients. I always tried to apply realistic values so you don't get too rich too fast but also trying to avoid a too-slow income.
And about the stand-alone game, I'm glad you mention it, as it somehow encourages me to return to an old idea of mine.... Recently due to this pandemia I practically lost my job (almost 3 months unemployed and counting), and I'm not quite sure the company that halted our jobs will be back, so I had in mind to create some kind of simple "game" but at same time complex in content, with hopes it would attract people enough to pay for some features or pluses, etc... not the typical pay to play, but something like that. Anyway, something that hopefully could be my income for living.
About your ideas... Personally I wouldn't go through all the work of reinstalling the game, I doubt it will make a difference... a script is a script, so it will still do the same, and you will probably end up having problems with other mods or game save... as they say, if something works, don't fix it :)
As said, I'll check the numbers when I have a chance, but for now I would just keep playing normal.
About the ventilator, it's just decoration. When I released this mod the ventilation was always on by default, but I found it quite disturbing, and probably I also got some comments about it (can't remember really, posted this both on Nexus and Steam), so I just placed a button, so those who like to hear the machines working can, and those who don't like it... don't.
I tried disabling other mods, thinking there might be a conflict, but that didn't work. Worth a try. I'm nowhere near the point of wanting to completely un/reinstall the game and mods, but if it will help, I'd give it a try. Just a thought, trying to be helpful.
In case I wasn't clear (I struggle with words sometimes) when I said the cost, I was talking about the actual number of gold subtracted from my inventory. And the guide I referenced was the one you pick up on the counter in game.
While I'm here, what does the ventilator button do? Haven't figured that out yet.
Still a fantastic mod. I've enjoyed every second of it.
As far as farming them goes, ignoring initial cost, each cow raised to slaughter costs 1000 gold, the cost of the bale of hay needed to raise it. Slaughtering gives you 15 beef, each producing 5 steaks. That brings the cost down to 13.33 gold, making it profitable, but limits the amount of beef you can have on hand immediately. Venison, on the other hand, cost 30 per, also produces five steaks, and that makes the cost 6 gold per. Being sold at, according to the in game guide, 15 per, that's a profit of 9 gold per. Beef, at best, is a profit of 6.67.
About the salad thing... Yeah, kind of figured that one out. Should've been obvious from the start. Sorry about that.
About the salad thing, try to be gentle. Don't cliclicliclicliclicliclic. There's a script processing stuff behind. When I played I used to use the table once per second more or less and never had any problems. I'm not quite sure how many salads were made per click, but I used to count the times I pressed the E key to use the table, and always got without ingredients correctly.
Also, I continued with the math... Venison is the way to go. Even without the add on sales of cider, bread, and salad, you make 9 gold per sale. Economically, it's the the best thing to serve. I haven't figured in the waitress, or the initial cost of buying the land/equipment. This is just supply vs sale here. I just realized how much of my life was spent in retail. Damn, that's sad. Also, if you use the chopping block too much, lettuce gets used more than tomato. You still get the amount of salad you should, but you end up with excess lettuce. Is this a glitch or a micro-calculation in the game?
Noticing that might actually be sadder...
So anyway, glad it helped, somehow :D
I tried to post my load order, but it is over 1000 chars, so I can't do it. Here is a link to the load order: Load Order [dl.dropboxusercontent.com]
