I'd certainly love to see more from Cherise, Miss Galaxy and the crew. The characters you've created for these stories are fantastic.
Would love to see something new come out from ya. If you do decide to build something, reach out. I've got an editor discord setup for project support. Would love to see another project taking shape.
Or maybe sooner if the urge hits... ;)
If you are planning on making more content though i will be highly interested. Especially if it's as engaging and interesting as this one was :)
Really want to find the novel now but seems it;s only available in Dutch currently so sadge.
Thank you for the kind words! <3
I wish you best of luck with the re-release, though. If the novel is written as well as the mod, you definitely deserve some well earned muneh and fame.
The novel was available a little while ago. Right now it's being rewritten (from dutch) for a re-release somewhere in the next year. Thanks for being interested!
A... n o v e l?
Where?
I did start on some Hong Kong builds but I ran into some problems with its limitations and changes from Dragonfall.
I'm mostly waiting for a next Shadowrun and mod engine to start something fun again but for now it's been shelved.
all in all, it was a delight to play.
Also, a general note: Due to Shadowrun: Dragonfall being a buggy mess with the editor I have been unable to access the UGC files to edit or fix bugs. Truly sorry for those stucks, the modification should work like 90% of the time, and otherwise be sure to reload a scene.
Thank you all for the interest in my little project, hopefully more to come when/if the next Shadowrun game comes with a more robust editor.
1. There were too many areas with no quest markers. A good example is the Inago District; I found myself wandering aimlessly all over the place just trying to find where to get a laptop or the blueprints because there was no directional arrow telling me which way to go.
2. The fight with LaRocca was anti-climactic at best. I loved the effects you , but all that story for that ending? I felt let down; there was nothing to that ending that made me feel like I did something.
3. I think I may have taken 10 DMG overall throughout the entire story; every shot I took seemed to be a miss or blocked due to cover. I never felt like I was in danger. Even the dude with the Gatlin gun? I took him out in 1 round, and he never got to open fire on me. There was just no fear.
Taking all of this with me for a next project so this means a lot! I kind of agree with most of your points but I had a tough time with things like the park transition and camera. Lightning I didn't use as much as I liked but I've grown since then and I dare to say the next mod is more intense in a lot of ways.
And yeah, lack of meta and magic is correct, it's inspired by my own novel so I'm really just borrowing the Shadowrun engine. Glad you had fun playing it though, thanks for the write up!
Combat on Hard was pretty easy towards the end, but Andrew was extremely difficult and mostly about doing it over until luck went my way. Everything else felt balanced, and the sniping segments were utterly fabulous. I would have preferred seeing SMGs a little more to give the ability to knock enemies out of cover and just give them more visibility. I think almost everybody could have used more weapon specific skill to open up more abilities and add more options. Enough throw to make grenades 1 AP would have also helped, as I always found I didn't have the second AP to spare every time I wanted to use one.
Hmm. I think I've given a lot more criticism than praise, so I want to reiterate how much I enjoyed this. You excelled at the things most creators fall flat on, while doing everything else better than average.
All of which is more than offset by the quality of writing and characters. I particular loved the ending, though... uh... cybereyes. :-p
I was a little puzzled by the complete absence of magic and metahumans, and the extremely low amount of cyberware. It had more of a Neuromancer than Shadowrun feel, though Neuromancer had a lot of wire in it.
Heh, this is long enough that I've broken the 1000 character limit, so I'll post a second comment to continue.
Looking forward to the next story!
Hey, do you have a novel in the digital?
As for combat and laggy maps, I know! This was my first tangle with the editor and it proved difficult at times to balance things. I ended up going for a easy difficulty in favor of telling the story and I was a bit too ambitious with the maps (Inago used to be 1 big map, now it's three, and it's still laggy!).
For my next mod, which is set in the Shadowrun universe, expect better combat, more details and story and hopefully even more fun.
And hey, I agree about the female characters. No reason men should have all the fun.
Thanks, again!
-) Cherise herself. I want more humanizing details. The way it's fleshed out is too cliched (an action hero with an Attitude, a dark mysterious past, and someone she cares but pushes away) and there's little to suggest anything more than that.
-) A lack of Japanese people (maybe Miss Galaxy?) in the whole campaign. I understand in the future things might not be racially or culturally structured like the present; or that they might be a proper explanation in the novel, but still.
-) Kirava. Would love to see the depths of her relationship with Cherise; and why did Cherise care so much about her.
-) The latter parts of the game (Inago afterwards) can get laggy at times, most likely due to the size.
Neither here nor there:
*) The difficulty. I played it at Normal and it's....so deliciously easy. Everyone dies in average of 3 shots. It makes things a lot more dramatic, but not much of a challenge (beyond the non-recovering HP post-battle)
I enjoyed it! It feels nice to have a somewhat complete story, and the way the story's been told is good too. Finished it in one day and ending up very impressed and pleased.
So thank you very much for all this. :) I'm definitely waiting for your other works.

My (long) impressions :
The pro:
+) Beautifully made maps.
+) The little details peppered throughout the world. The banters, the trinkets, everything. Especially because this story is set in a separate, non Shadowrun universe.
+) A very entertaining plot. The pacing and builtup feels good; there's definitely no sense of the plot moving too fast or too slow. There are no times when it feels dragging and/or grindy,
+) A lot of female participants in the game, which is a delightful change from most male-oriented UGCs out there.
Well done!
The story continues in my first novel and onwards...but perhaps I will make another mod in the future. For now my attention is on a mod that I'm making for Shadowrun Hong Kong, in full Shadowrun style but with a emphasis on story and characters like seen in this mod.
Do you have any other mods?
