Also if using IGE to test whether it works, this is a no go. The method being used by the lua program has to see the wonder being produced 'naturally' as part of the turn-processing between turns.

You can hurry using a Great Engineer(s), but you still have to let the wonder occur naturally as a part of what happens when you press NEXT TURN.

Also, CP, CBP? Other mods with a custom dll ? whoward69's Various Mods Components dll should work since most of the patch# 276/9 originally came from whoward's code.

Be sure that you have allowed the game to be updated to the latest version (1.0.3.279) because the mod uses lua code added in the most recent patches (Fall of 2014)

I too have decided not to use this mod, since I didn't get the units either. I have BNW and latest version.

@Ishipp why not host on civ fanatics? that is pretty much the go to place for Civ mods

You must have an incomplete or corrupt download then. It has never not worked for me. Steam does not like mediafire links anymore, so I will have to look into an alternative hosting-place for a direct download of the mod.

I have the newest version as well as all dlc's g&k and bnw. tried a second game and same thing happened. just gonna not use this i guess.

Actually I mis-typed. It should be game version 1.0.3.279

kraytchaos,

Do you have the most recent update to the game? You need game version 1.0.3.276

My understanding was that the patch version was valid for all 3 expansion levels of the game. Do you have BNW or only G&K ?

I recieved zero units using this mod. i had 16 in toatal, with 5 unique units between the 16. I was very disappointed. I am at still getting the = 25% bonus though, so just gonna keep playing without the extra units.

I guess I don't understand the comments I am seeing about the 'massive army' concept.
Sturmgewehrz 5 Jun, 2015 @ 5:49pm
I think it's because people try to treat it like they would any other wonder, just build it and boom you have an advantage. But this wonder you have to build strategically. For example, if you stockpile gold before you build it, you can get a massive army that you would otherwise be unable to support, because you would run out of gold even before you produced all the units. Obviously the key here is that you need to attack as soon as you build it for maximum effect. I think this wonder is very fitting for the domination victory playstyle. With something like a cultural or scientific victory it's just a battle of numbers, where as in domination you could have the largest army but loose because you can't use them effectively. I feel it would detract from the domination experience if it just gave you a bunch of units with no sort of conditions that would change your playstyle.

"Fix" was probably an unfortunate word-usage. But when browsing through a lot of internet discussions of wonders, I kept seeing commentary that was basically: in BNW, Terracotta Army is "crap", it just adds bad units that cost against unit maintenance and available supply.

Love it!

I've used TA so many times for early domination, it seemed fine to me.

The extra 25% land unit production in BNW in the city might be OP. I am not convinced that it is. Remember that the effect is limited to the city in question, and only comes into play when you construct units (has no effect when you buy them). As you progress through the later stages of the game, and buff that city's list of buildings and surrounding terrain improvements, the 25% land unit construction will trend toward having less and less of a noticeable effect because you will be able to build everything in that city faster anyway as you add Factories, Windmills, Power Plants, etc., and as you mine nearby resources, build lumber mills, or build pastures or what-have-you around the city.

I don't know that I'd agree that by definition this makes Terracotta Army OP. Consider that in BNW you are going to get all those units from Constructing TA anyway : the difference is in the XP and Promotions this mod will add to those units.

I don't believe you'll be able to construct TA if you wait long anough to have Armory and/or Military Academy in the same city, so the most likely situation is you are going to have a Barracks and perhaps Heroic Epic already constructed in the same city. So the flood of units (and in most cases I think it is going to be 5-6 units max) you will get will only be buffed by this mod by having at most 15XP added when created plus the Morale promotion (maybe).
JEELEN 18 Apr, 2015 @ 7:44am
I'm inclinded to agree. I appreciate the idea, but this sounds pretty much OP.

I think the Terracotta Army is already strong enough. I could rush several players with this wonder in the multiplayer or at least weaken them.
