@sampo0 so is this a reactor or a thruster or a jump drive because im really confused? 🤨

Maphias 20 Sep, 2016 @ 4:52pm
i found that and have been using it and it workds great
sampo0  [author] 20 Sep, 2016 @ 3:25am
hi,
the spinning wheel is to get the userinput. without the wheel it would only working with the cockpit hotkeys.
But what is with the "3 axis gravity drive" in the Workshop? i think there ist a new working version.
Maphias 6 Sep, 2016 @ 9:20am
so can you make a stationary grav drive that doesn't spin? it would be very helpfull in multiplayer were most moving parts are a hazard. I have been working on making grave drive and have found a configuration that works well for most ships but it requires me to use 7 hotkeys in the pilot seat to fly like using awsd it works but some one not knowing what they are doing will have no idea what to do and probably crash

With this solution you can going up and down too. (With space and c button). This is the largest benefit, the Pollywog drive can only dampening in these two directions. So I think, this have better flying ability.
(Let's see if I understand you: is the power generators output not equal at all of the ship? So can you read the nearest generator output to the thruster?)

(an other idea: can you read the hydrogen consumption directly? But then you need hydrogen :/ OR: can you read the hydrogen claim of thrusters without hydrogen consumption?)
sampo0  [author] 14 Mar, 2016 @ 9:05am
hi,
yes i could do this, but i don't want to. :)

You can't get thrusters powerInput directly. You have to turn they on/off and look at the PowerOutput from all generators.
Low Difference -> thrusters are off(Player flies not in this direction)
High Difference -> thruster are on (Player flies in this direction or some block is now activate.)

And this for all 6 Directions.

This will not better fly like the Pollywog(in the Past :steamsalty: ), so i have no intention to work on these script, sry.

I would programming something if someone has a new idea to get the WASD Input from Cockpit.

Hi sampo0!
Can you create a script, that is changing the G value of gravity generators according to power consumption of a thruster? So we have a gravity driving system with WASD controll, dampening and without moving parts!
Here is an example, but this is not working now:

sampo0  [author] 25 Jan, 2016 @ 6:21am
No they are needed for listen the WASD userinput.
Stower 20 Jan, 2016 @ 8:26am
Ah so are the blocks on the wheel needed or are they cosmetic
sampo0  [author] 20 Jan, 2016 @ 3:22am
Keen updates against me :)
In the past you could add blocks to a Wheel.
Stower 19 Jan, 2016 @ 5:37pm
How did you add a block to the end of a Wheel? thats so cool
sampo0  [author] 25 Nov, 2015 @ 2:20pm
Hi,
i've stopped working on this Project, now. Because the wheels turning off at maxspeed. To reactivate the wheels you have to turn left or right or you have to turn on the gravityDampeners. If the Dampener is activate the ship will accelerate and breaks, in turns. Flying is not as smooth as I would wish it. :steamsad:
So I hope the next Update will change that.
Imagination 14 Sep, 2015 @ 7:54pm
@Sampo Huh, thanks for that. Was wondering why I couldn't see all the blocks. I never realised that eye thing was even a button!
Kilroy 14 Sep, 2015 @ 3:46pm
this is wonderfull. i have been trying to make one this small forever. well done sir
sampo0  [author] 14 Sep, 2015 @ 1:39am
Hi, you didnt have all blocks change to your ownership. Pls, show all hidden blocks and then change the ownership.
Imagination 13 Sep, 2015 @ 6:17pm
@sampo0
Sorry about the late response, I haven't had a chance to fire up SE again until today.

The code on the core prog-block seems to have myseriously gained a hundred lines of code since I last saw it, but this little test world exhibits the same behaviour as my other one.
sampo0  [author] 13 Sep, 2015 @ 9:16am
You can now add GravityGenerators and ArtificialMass. Just add they to the Groups GravityGens4G-Drive and ArtMass4G-Drive.
sampo0  [author] 9 Sep, 2015 @ 9:17am
Hmm. Could you share me your Workshop? It is very hard to guessing something.
Imagination 9 Sep, 2015 @ 6:10am
I think I'm missing something with this one. The test ship works just fine, but I can't seem to get this core version to... really do anything. After putting it all together, it just moves around (slowly) on thrusters, with the wheel wiggling around and rotating.

As far as I can tell, I've followed what was done in the vids, but I hope you can point out where I went wrong.

0: Paste in Pollywog
1: Build reactors for power
2: Build gyros for mouse control
3: Build cockpit. Up is the side the top of the prog block is, Back is the wheel.
4: Set cockpit to control wheels.
4: Set ownership
5: Compile prog block
6: Add groups to cockpit/control station hotbar
7: Use On/Off group to start
8: Zoom off into the distance
(The order for most of these shouldn't matter so long as 5 is done before 7 and 8.)

I'm probably being really stupid, but cross-checking between the test ship and this core piece, I can't tell what I've done wrong. It'll probably seem obvious in hindsight.

Frontrider 26 Aug, 2015 @ 12:55am
The mechanism uses less energy than regular thrusters?
sampo0  [author] 8 Aug, 2015 @ 10:32am
That's no problem. 20 minutes incl. play with your ship a little bit :)
laci4321 (HUN) 8 Aug, 2015 @ 1:42am
YESS Thank you!! :steamhappy:
I hope that you didn't have too much work with it.
sampo0  [author] 7 Aug, 2015 @ 3:37pm
@laci4321 Your Ship is in the opposit way than the Gridpivot and the Game can't know what are the front and what are the back and maybe wath ist up and down. I do not know why the Flightseat cant compansate it.
I will send you a new Code for your ship via PM.

Tip for your ship: You can add more ArtMass to the GravDrive for bettter acceleration, but over 104m/s your Smallshipgrids will be destroyed.

@101m4n Yes, so it works. :steamhappy:
laci4321 (HUN) 5 Aug, 2015 @ 5:55am
Yes, I found your testship, and I looked your videos. But i don't know what's the problem.
Here is my blueprint: (The ship not completed yet)
http://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=494461013
sampo0  [author] 4 Aug, 2015 @ 2:28pm
Since the last update the code was outdated.
I have fixed it.

@laci4321 If you press W the wheel should turn anticlockwise. the Programmable Block should be Up and the Wheel look backwards.
my Testship: http://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=424866387
Maybe you can publish your ship. then i can help you more.
laci4321 (HUN) 4 Aug, 2015 @ 2:52am
I put this drive into my completed ship. When I press W, the ship go backward. S - forward, A right, D left. All are opposite than I want. After I put this drive inversely, but these directions remain the same. :D
I don't know why.
Craig P 29 Jul, 2015 @ 10:18pm
Thanks for the hack, I went ahead and used it. :D

dazvidi 19 May, 2015 @ 4:03am
Man, it's the best gravydrive ever!
Amazing!!!
sampo0  [author] 14 Apr, 2015 @ 9:07am
You can add more artificial mass blocks.
In the future it will allow more freedom.
Rimshot 14 Apr, 2015 @ 9:00am
Very cool. This is getting a fav
Rimshot 14 Apr, 2015 @ 8:59am
can it be used side by side with multiple grav drives? It needs more power
Coren 30 Mar, 2015 @ 6:30pm
aaahaha now i understand, very clever with the wheels. now I see why it can only be 4 directions. Makes me wish thrusters had DetailedInfo as well.
Marxon 30 Mar, 2015 @ 6:28pm
I totally want to see this put inside a big heavy ship and make it move like a little fighter, would definitely turn some heads.
Coren 30 Mar, 2015 @ 4:27pm
O, never mind i figured it out, very nice. could you implement up and down as well?
Coren 30 Mar, 2015 @ 4:18pm
soo, is there a special way to get this up and running once it is pasted into the world?
sampo0  [author] 30 Mar, 2015 @ 12:28am
yes, but only if you copy&paste it in your world, at the moment. I will update the blueprint in the next days. then you can build it with the Projector block.
Wounded jackal 29 Mar, 2015 @ 8:47pm
thats awesome .... can you connect it to a ship and have it still work?
elcadaver 29 Mar, 2015 @ 2:04am
video didn't actuallly show it working? without the thrusters?
我这个级别的哈激米 27 Mar, 2015 @ 10:15pm
WELL DONE !
Beats-With-BothHands 24 Mar, 2015 @ 5:06pm
nice seems a bit more managable in terms of size XD
