Is this still working?
LordChicken  [ophavsmand] 18. feb. 2022 kl. 13:08
@Rusted Droid

Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I was able to reproduce and resolved the issue. I have updated the CubeBlocks.sbc to match the current landing gear CubeBlocks and that seems to have resolved it.

Enjoy, and if I ever get more time I do have model update coming someday(tm)
Rusted Droid 14. feb. 2022 kl. 14:04

its a magnet edge for your blast doors.. helps heep them closed and in a locked state when flying around
Church.exe 25. juli 2017 kl. 15:25
ok i like the concept but what exactly does this do i mean you said its like landing gear but that wouldnt make it airtight or anything and if thats not what you want just make the piston extend more
(unless it does make it airtight)
A.F.T 13. jan. 2016 kl. 0:47
Need increase the locking distance. Unusble mod
arreclain 7. jan. 2016 kl. 11:41
This is an excellent idea. I do not use blast doors for the very issue this mod solves.
LordChicken  [ophavsmand] 23. dec. 2015 kl. 13:43
you are welcome JonyPooh.
JonyPooh 23. dec. 2015 kl. 8:28
Thank you LordChicken for removing the mount point on top. I love this mod!
Drayst 18. dec. 2015 kl. 16:29
Please please please change the mount point. It is a great mod and would enhance its use further.
DeRavi 12. okt. 2015 kl. 15:29
Just commenting so ill get the comment update if someone makes this dx11 version without the range limitation, unsubbing for now. Great mod though!
JonyPooh 9. sep. 2015 kl. 7:08
Would it be possible to remove the mountpoint from the locking surface so that you can use these along with merge blocks and they won't weld both ships together?
Sevenus501 17. juli 2015 kl. 11:43
the range of the lock needs increasing the blocks are completly touching but still doesnt register
Sechesin 5. juli 2015 kl. 0:11
In DX 11 (Not sure why it would make a difference), the "range" of the lock proximity check is reduced. In other words, the lock does not turn yellow as easily as it used to. It's almost impossible to lock my carrier's elevators in place before takeoff now so things get... explodey... any fix possible? I've set all the locks to 'autolock' when parked and that helps some (they twitch in and out of range sometimes), but the range definitely needs extension in DX11.
KAPER-GAME 22. maj 2015 kl. 8:44
you need more likes this needs to be in the main game
LordChicken  [ophavsmand] 22. apr. 2015 kl. 22:22
@[Doritos] Kingbuddy06 I am sorry to hear you are having an issue. I suggest building the door as normal, then paint the blocks where you want the lock to be a different color and save. Open SEToolBox [setoolbox.codeplex.com], open your save, sort by color, and replace the sections of blast door edges with the blast door lock. Save and reload your game.

Please remember, this is a landing gear. I am sorry people are having problems placing it but this will have all the same problems a landing gear will have, including placement issues if you are too close to another object. I am not able to make if function any differently. If I could, I would.

When I have some time here in the next week I will play with the size of the gear_lock_001 locator and see if that helps. During my initial testing the size of the locator did not seem to affect how it behaved.
Kingbuddy06 22. apr. 2015 kl. 21:20
Same as the last guy, it refuses to get placed on any of my blast doors. Can't use it.
Wilder 25. mar. 2015 kl. 10:19
everytime i've tried to place this on my blast door it refuses to place. no idea.
LordChicken  [ophavsmand] 24. mar. 2015 kl. 7:16
@Rockalypse I am sorry to hear you are having a problem. Remember that to the game this is a landing gear.
[⦿] Kauz 24. mar. 2015 kl. 3:16
This mod would be nice, but it has bug. I have 4 piece blast door. Central segment is two pieces, connecting together in center and two pieces closing from sides. I tried to make this work with as much blast door locks as i could, and at first sight it worked well, BUT after enabling "autolock" function there is no way to put locks apart, even turning off all power is no help.
Morphik 12. mar. 2015 kl. 20:44
Is it just me or does this block not work at all for anyone else?
Sevenus501 24. feb. 2015 kl. 13:13
i'm trying to use the mod to connect my ship's duble door hanger together which both doors have the block in the sam relitive location so they line up but they they don't see each other

@Potterz What you failed to realize is that I didn't talk about the textures of the blocks. Lotsa people here think it's a brandnew idea and block but it isn't. Just wanted to inform LordChicken of this.
Falcon1882 20. feb. 2015 kl. 8:50
hey LordChicken nice to see another lord around here
Widzy 20. feb. 2015 kl. 4:46
gg
Sardelac 19. feb. 2015 kl. 21:26
understood, thanks!
LordChicken  [ophavsmand] 19. feb. 2015 kl. 20:36
@Sardelac, remember that the game thinks it is a landing gear. So places where the landing gear might not want to go will affect this mod.
♥♥♥♥ Face 19. feb. 2015 kl. 19:09
Found tihs while i was looking a game to play in my game invertory.. so i installed it Yay! :D =3
Sardelac 19. feb. 2015 kl. 19:06
Out of curiostiy, does this use the collision mesh for a regular block or a blast door block? Having issues placing the block where the non-locking piece places just fine.
NeoAcario 19. feb. 2015 kl. 18:17
@Potterz
And I'm not sure about the rest of you... but I do my best to only use vanilla looking / acting mods.
MythyMajestic 19. feb. 2015 kl. 15:58
@Lynnuxx What you fail to realize is that the Maglock Surface Docking Clamps DON'T go smoothly with the rest of the blast doors- and this doors. This makes it look perfectly normal, if a bit nicer- while not everyone would argue that their other-colored doors with dark electronic door block would mesh nicely. This is much neater, in my opinion- more vanilla.
Chase Gamer 19. feb. 2015 kl. 14:12
this is funny, just yesterday I built a ship with a blast door and used landing gear to lock it down, now I can replace that with this, ps. thanks
Lynnuxx 19. feb. 2015 kl. 13:57
@Hiltori Normally it will if it's based on the landing gear. And all maglocks I know so far are based on the landing gear.
Lynnuxx 19. feb. 2015 kl. 13:53
There is a quite old but good mod already containing this:
Maglock Surface Docking Clamps V2.0
Hitori 19. feb. 2015 kl. 9:28
Neet idea, i just hope it not suffers from the same problems as actuall landing gears "BOOM".
Vinier McNuggNugg 18. feb. 2015 kl. 19:08
ALL HAIL LORD KFC
Zaanix 18. feb. 2015 kl. 17:43
I use this as a compact landing gear for my small ships, just make a rail with these in the middle and have it just one block lower, for an acessable height to my fighters.
NeoAcario 18. feb. 2015 kl. 8:19
This is just ONE way I plan to be using these blast door locks!

http://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=394789538

I was having a slight bit of difficulty with stability with this MASSIVE deployable solar array I'm putting into my asteroid colony. 2 points of contact deployed and 4 points of contact when retracted makes this thing ROCK SOLID.

Added perks: I can turn off the six 5-Meter pistons to increase the stability of the overall system and save power at the same time!

AWESOME mod.
Wilder 18. feb. 2015 kl. 8:07
I couldnt get this to work, it wouldnt attach to a blast door.
Shellduck 17. feb. 2015 kl. 23:33
I can't get this to work in any survival game, only in creative. I can build it in survival, but It seamt to not find any surface/block it can lock/land on,
Anomaly 17. feb. 2015 kl. 9:19
This will REALLY help with my newest ship design! Now I won't have to worry about my large blast door tearing off during deceleration and slamming into a station...
ZobiOneKenobi 17. feb. 2015 kl. 6:20
You're a genius :-)
NeoAcario 16. feb. 2015 kl. 22:33
So perfectly simple and effective.
SIN._ 16. feb. 2015 kl. 18:21
This. This is perfect.
Zzzleepy 16. feb. 2015 kl. 13:15
Have been wondering how I was going to lock my hangar doors in place without using bulky landing gears. This is exactly what I need, thanks a lot! :)
Average Caucasian Shark 16. feb. 2015 kl. 10:38
you sir are epic!
LordChicken  [ophavsmand] 16. feb. 2015 kl. 8:26
Thank you for all for the positive comments!

@Poaching Gnome the ship I have it on has two piston doors and two rotor doors. A merge block would require another block to merge into.

I've been experimenting with gyroscopes using the "UltraGyro" [http//%26quot%3Bhttp] mod by JennyLeeP and CyaNox. At one point I had four of the UltraGyro's on a ship and it turned end over end like a fighter which prompted me to make this mod because all of my doors flew off. After I made this, my doors were held inplace without any problems.
Sprocket 16. feb. 2015 kl. 7:13
could you make a maglock for the corner variant?
