At least you liked it overall. To be honest, I can't remember the last maneuver, it's been awhile.

Thanks for testing.
SpielSatzFail 2. okt. 2022 kl. 1:20
Good map but I'm dissatisfied with the last maneuver. I was struggling with a solution that involved two portals to aim the laiser to its target plus another portal connection "at the same time" to bring myself to the exit. To me the design clearly indicated that jumping into the funnel was not intended. But it was so simple. Aaaargh!

Geez Louise, Andi. That was a poser. I only added one extra unnecessary step to the intended solution. Annuder good'un frum yer werkshop.

Great logic puzzle. Clever, but not toooo difficult and fun to solve.

Good puzzles Andi, it was a fun map to solved, and figuring out getting the laser to the catcher was a good thinker.
Your new map RC4-2, you have Der HammerMeister (p0rtalmaster) as one of the contributors, I don't like the guy so unfortunately I'll have to pass on that map of yours.

Another excellent test chamber. Got stumped at first, then the aha hit.

Thanks for testing and thanks for the comments. I'm still learning hammer and it's slow, but it's coming along.

First impression: nice job on the looks. I hear that TS_Mind_Swept taught you how to do a Full Compile (which many Hammer n:p2blue::p2orange:bs neglect); good for you :p2cube: One small tip: avoid textures that end in _nospec or _vertex , as they look weird (e.g. the one in front of the exit door). I imagine you'll get better with Hammer and crank out some good stuff; much like what Nintendo.erk creates (only you'll have your own style and puzzles).

Now, onto the puzzle: I got stumped, only to realize that there's a little extraneous (and confusing) area in the map: it's the area in front of the exit, over the deadly goo and behind the glass. I thought I might need to coat the floor in gel and use it to finish the test after I got the cube . Other than that it's a nice test.

Overall, good work :p2cube: and good luck with Hammer :p2aperture:

Sure thing you confused shit out of me and i was not able to solve it :P
Great job with that Hammer editor ;)

You solved it as intended. Thanks for testing.

Fairly straight forward yet very clever at the same time. Very good!

VERY NICE VERY NICE VERY NIXE MAP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"Simple, yet confusing" - a way I like to say. This map made me scratch my head for some time , as SCjay said, some of the puzzle elements were stareing at your face, but it can missed quite easily.
This was a very enjoyable map, haven't had that for a while. Will be looking into your other maps as well.

Great work and continue on.
Andi  [ophavsmand] 2. feb. 2015 kl. 22:23
That is a piece of advice that I tend to take to heart. As a designer, I tend to overlook the fact that the players are seeing this chamber for the time and I will sometimes over complicate a test when I’m building them (RC1-1 is one). I tried to keep this chamber as simple as possible.

Thank you for testing.

Constructive FeedBack
Andi....From a Designer standpoint, What seems obvious (maybe even 'mundane') to yourself isn't always the case from a player's perspective. Personally I seek out your smaller maps because you have a knack for taking a few basic concepts and making people scratch their heads.
There are times that I think I'm losing it (because I know the answer is right in front of me)...Then I have an AhHah moment & finish the puzzle.
I'm frequently surprised when I read the feedback of said puzzle and see that Others were just as puzzled as myself.
In summary... "The best place to hide something from someone is rite out in the open"

I'm happy to hear you liked. Thanks.
GBMusicMaster 2. feb. 2015 kl. 10:35
I came sooooo close to checking the spoilers below for the solution, but I finally found it myself. Getting to the pedestal was the hardest part for me. After that, everything went smoothly. Great test--thumbs up and faved!

Thank you very much.

Excellent map. Very enjoyable. Solving was not a walk in the park but not hair pulling hard either. Thanks for making this playground. I'm going to look for more of yours. Fav.

Very Nice..."Simple" as you put it is usually more challenging than comlex. Enjoyed it very much.
Andi  [ophavsmand] 31. jan. 2015 kl. 7:51
I didn't. I used hammer just to give this chamber a different look. Thanks for testing.
| \_/ () 31. jan. 2015 kl. 6:59
Now this is what I call a good chamber! It has an idea, it's not straight forward, it's not too difficult, it's perfect. One question though: why did you need hammer other than for visual purposes?
Andi  [ophavsmand] 30. jan. 2015 kl. 8:46
I'm GLaD you all liked it. Thank you.
jgaultney 30. jan. 2015 kl. 8:39
An entertaining chamber. I got the cube the same a Polux, I kept looking for a
deeper/trickier use for the delay in the dropper. xD
While this chamber seems
less complex than RC1-1, it took me longer to figure out :) Thumbs up!!
Daoud Baba 30. jan. 2015 kl. 8:38
Much better than the first in my opinion ! Clean desing, not too much elements, simple but clever test... A very enjoyable chamber :)
Andi  [ophavsmand] 30. jan. 2015 kl. 8:23
Thanks for testing. You both solved this chamber as intended.

@ Potux When you press the button to get the cube, it is on a time delay. You can jump into the funnel and catch up to the cube before it hits the bounce gel but your solution works just as well. Thanks again.
Polux 30. jan. 2015 kl. 4:43
Ohhh .. what a good puzzle :)
I loved it, very fun.
My solution : http://youtu.be/ttOOMfV6qPo
I'am not sure about my way to reach the funnel...

Great work in a great simple designed map; I like the type of geometry introduced here in your chamber walls (though is your first steps in hammer); the puzzle itself is no so easy as the it apperas. thumb up! (I'll upload a picture later to see if the final step is intended)

wildgoosespeeder 29. jan. 2015 kl. 21:33
It was definitely worth solving, although probably would be better if it wasn't exported to Hammer because you did so little to tweak it. You did say that this was your first Hammer map so there is some value in this map learning the tool and getting your feet wet with it as this workshop entry is a testiment to that.

The biggest problem was figuring out how to get the laser and cube back to the exit door. I figured out how to coat 2/3 of the surfaces required to exit, but the 3rd one may be too obscure to guess in its current state. TS_Mind_Swept had to help me because he faced a similar issue in his Twitch stream. Maybe either a subtle light strip hint or a smaller section prior to the main chamber where it requires the player to bounce into an excursion funnel from that kind of angle would help. I may whip up such a tutorial level for ideas.

any time, if u need anymore hit me up, even if i don't know it I'll see what i can do.

Fairly good map with some interesting basic brush work, keep in it in hammer, I know you can do it! 7.75/10
