@Blkbeard Thank you for the feedback. Yeah Im working now on adding additional option to tweak blizzards. It will be great If i can give to a player more control. But I cant ensure that this option will be really added because there are some problems that I cant describe in a few words... And its not about difficulty of coding it - its about how to integrate such setting(s) into the mod in a seamless way.

Solved.

I unsubbed, launched the game, closed it (without loading the save), subbed again, launched again, activated mod, put it first on load order. This made the options show up.

Love this mod, an essential one I plan to include with every play through going forward.

I've been looking for a mod for a while now that adds more blizzard occurrences to the game, with the cold, to make winter more of challenge, but doesn't over do it. I love snowy, harsh winter months to plan and prepare for, which adds an entire new element to the end game imo.

Will there be further options to tweak blizzards in the future? (I would love this)

What is your game version? If it’s b42, this can be caused by an another mod. I’ve checked this mod with 100+ another mods and it works perfectly. Same for b41.
Make sure that your “Cold Winters” version is 1.4
And anyway try to leave the game, unsubscribe then subscribe this mod and launch PZ.

Can't see Sandbox options on ongoing save, nor in the Mod options on pause menu, nor using a Sandbox Options mod during game.

Changes:
- Added script which makes blizzards occur more often during winter.
- Added sandbox option to enable/disable increased chance of blizzards (you can change it whenever you want).
- Daily difference between max and min temperatures has been decreased.
- Temperatures have been slightly changed, so spring and autumn became less cold.

Ребят, если вы пользуетесь project summer car вместе с этим модом, то у вас могут быть проблемы с кондиционером внутри машины. Температуры могут быть как неадекватно горячими (300 градусов +), так и ледяными (-30 градусов и меньше). Так что если вы пользуетесь этими модами одновременно, то скорее всего у вас возникнут подобные проблемы.

While the idea is great, the problem with this mod is that zomboid doesn't let you heat your house properly (only around the heatsource itself), meaning that with this mod I will have to walk around my house in full winter gear, unless I am right next to the stove at all times

people who complain about it being unrealistic when they realize they can also not subscribe to the mod

I love these kinds of mods because it becomes a sort of different apocalypse than just the Knox Virus. You're telling me it's a -30 degree Celsius winter? In Kentucky? Are we entering another fucking ice age? Lmao.

Yeah that will be great if I add an option for blizzards. I also thought about this idea yesterday, so I`ll start working on this suggestion and try to implement it before christmas.

Thank you. Seems to work so far, and I've set temps in sandbox to "normal" which will hopefully keep winter duration to less than the usual 1/3 of the year when I make the temps cold.

please wait longer between updates. It is making the server I play on unjoinable until the owner gets online and manually updates the mod on the server. Please wait till there is a major bug fix or change, and then push out all the new stuff in one update.

@enzo lmao! This mod only affects the climate during winter by making it colder. But when I say "colder" i dont mean -50C or -100C colder like its in "cryogenic winter". Temperatures will be more realistic and according to my tests temperature goes down up to -32 degrees.

I find this all absolutely okay because I had same climate in my canton (district) - nice and warm summer with +15 to +30 degrees and true winter with lots of snow and temperature like -15C or -25C.

And its not only about my country. I`ve been to the Czech Republic, United Kindom, Russia, and Canada (Vancouver). And whenever I`ve been there are always the same climate - hot summer and cold winter.
Whenever I traveled I made it a point to learn about the local climate, and every single time when I asked somybody about it I heard roughly the same story I’ve already shared: "In winter, temperatures usually drop to -25°C, while summers get scorching hot."
As far as I know this climate zone is called "temperate zone". It turns out every place I’ve been is situated in this very zone, where that kind of weather was typical throughout the 2000s. This is precisely the kind of climate I grew up in.

I told it because some people can find such winter confusing.. like "wtf dude what do you mean that -20C is regular temperature.. are u crazy???". But as I told we used to have these cold temps in 2000`s before it became much hotter all around the world for some reasons. I really miss this time.. and I hope that someday Europe’s climate will return to what it once was, and I’ll get to witness those magical snowy winters with the biting cold that we lost.

The vanilla games actually pretty realistic according to the average winter temps in Kentucky but I have always thought the weather should be balanced for gameplay fun, and not necessarily realism. The default weather is basically inconsequential

I guess I have to prepare more cabbage jars for such winter when I play it
