I have been playing in the Cauldron system for a while now. My start has been Tellus. The terrain of Tellus is looking really great. But it comes with a downside: The terrain is very rough. A small grid rover is struggling to drive a few kilometres for scouting for metal ore veins. In spectator mode I have found the very next gold deposit in approx 40 km distance. Flying this distance with a mining vessel requires a stop at almost every frozen lake. And driving this distance with a ground vehicle takes ages. Is this intended ?
The only solution I have come to might be a mobile base ( ground or airborne ). That's a pity to narrow the game play to only a few possibilities.
Made the Gas Giant with the Real Gas Giants mod and it looks amazing. Put Agni inside a gap of the rings to get a cool eclipse every day (also positioned the others to get varying lengths of eclipses).
Spawned on Agni and feared I might have set things too easy, but then I managed to blow up my hydrogen tank just before getting to a decent base spot. The terrain looks gorgeous but is quite challenging and I am all here for it.
Please keep up the amazing work!
Are there recommended positions for the planets ?
I have taken a look into the fandom wiki to learn how to move spawned planets around.
My plan is to use the solar system as a template for the asteroids and remove the regular planets and moons. And then I want to add your gas giant and its three "moons".
Maybe you have already made something similar. I don't have a clue what might be good distances between them.
Thanks for making this great mod !
it's just to be able to see them as they are from proxy and orbit space, you can use a similar proxy but it would look wonky unless you tune up the fadeout range, but doing so sacrifices the rotation visual unless you also tune up the surface zone, which with fast spinning objects can cause some dizziness sometimes

there is also a tutorial linked to the exporter, so you could also watch that to make a proxy

it's up to you to make a proxy however, and someone would probably do it themselves eventually if you don't, but still
That mod is probably incompatible then. I would guess that if you add this mod and remove the other tellus mod, the planet would be replaced by this one. But I don't think you could have both in the same world. And gravity and the atmosphere might also not update. You could probably have these planets and the other tellus by changing the load order so it overrides this tellus. Honestly idk what'll happen, but try it out, save it before and play around with the load order.
any proxies for use in Real Solar Systems?
i am 100% using that gas giant skin and those planets/moons in a star system
