Description
A Gas giant with three very different moons offering a complete survival experience.

v1.1: RealSolarSystems Proxies
v1.0: Initial Release

The Cauldron System is a set of planets that you can use to create your own world. It is not a savefile, as I want to allow people to set their own world settings and so on. The planets are intended to deliver a complete survival experience, where all planets are relevant to the gameplay and complementary to each other, as they all differ from each other in what ores they contain and what survival challenges they present, making journeying to all of them a necessity. It is possible to spawn on all planets, however some present a harder challenge than others. The core idea behind this system is to replicate minecraft to some extend, with the planets equating to the three dimensions in minecraft to some extend. There are four planets in this mod, Cauldron (the gas giant), Tellus (lush and green), Agni (volcanic) and Kor (ice).

For all further information, look at this guide:

How to Use:
-Subscribe on this page
-During loading/ creating a new world, go to options->mods
-Add this mod to the list of active mods
-Ingame: shift+f10, select planets, select these ones, spawn them in

For planet modders:
The definition files for this planet are very extensively commented. If you want to use them as a
reference you can find them here: ...\steamapps\workshop\content\244850\3576683005
Feel free to also use all the assets for your own planets, just give some credit, thanks.

This is definitely on the greater quality side of planet mods. They all look really beautiful and the presentation is great. I only ask for a Tellus version with water mod support. By which I mean, a version of Tellus with terrain depression in place of flat ice segments

Every material has a different drop rate and drops different ores, depends on what exactly you tried to mine. As the guide says, kor doesnt have any stone, only a little bit in voxelmaps, which is why it's considered a difficult start. The materials on agni drop stone normally, except for the sand, which only drops a little bit of silver, no stone.

I don't know if this is on my server end, but all the planets except for Tellus have abysmal stone output. For example, when you mine the ston, if any, it gives an extremely small amount, making starting out basically impossible, if not taking forever. You can mine with your hand drill for a whole 2–5 minutes and get only about 100 stone, which can barely make the most basic components.

Phenomenal mod. You're a maestro of SE planet modding.
Made the Gas Giant with the Real Gas Giants mod and it looks amazing. Put Agni inside a gap of the rings to get a cool eclipse every day (also positioned the others to get varying lengths of eclipses).
Spawned on Agni and feared I might have set things too easy, but then I managed to blow up my hydrogen tank just before getting to a decent base spot. The terrain looks gorgeous but is quite challenging and I am all here for it.
Please keep up the amazing work!

You may have already answered this, but are there any plans for a water-mod compatible version?
Major Jon  [author] 15 Oct @ 10:40am
I would put Agni just outside the gravity range of the gas giant somewhere inside the rings, looks cool if it's that close. The other ones could be anywhere, but keep in mind the jumpdrive distance is 2000km, so maybe not to far away.

Hi !

Are there recommended positions for the planets ?

I have taken a look into the fandom wiki to learn how to move spawned planets around.

My plan is to use the solar system as a template for the asteroids and remove the regular planets and moons. And then I want to add your gas giant and its three "moons".

Maybe you have already made something similar. I don't have a clue what might be good distances between them.

Thanks for making this great mod !

Hey Major Jon, Love this! is it possible to get even a bigger Solar System with more planets to explore? (iam very happy with these planets, love to see more!)
