costs nothing to put them in your legacy slots end of game, but during a game spend legacy points to put them into your game!

Hi! I’m having some trouble understanding a few mechanics: the Family Pokémon Slot, Boost Family Pokémon HP/Initiative, Heirloom Slot, Secret Base Slot, and the Trophies system.
My friends and I are playing, but we’re not sure if we’re doing it correctly. Could you explain how these work? Thanks in advance!
Killgrave  [author] 8 Oct @ 6:12am
@emilyotter, you can freely look at current gym pokemon whenever you like :)
EmilyOtter 8 Oct @ 12:22am
We ruled that scouting a gym is you skip a turn while at the gym to neither win or lose but just see what the gym has, is that correct? Nowhere in the book does it actually explain how to scout or what that means
Killgrave  [author] 7 Oct @ 11:36am
@pinsta if you look at the tooltip of every map figure, it will tell you exactly how many pokemon are involved in the battle. For example, the tooltip on the gym says its a 2v2, so you get 2 pokemon max!
Pinsta 7 Oct @ 11:07am
Could you explain how many pokemon we are meant to bring to gyms etc please, it's quite confusing how many pokemon should be involved etc...
Sandra Borger 6 Oct @ 1:46pm
Thank you, now I got it <3
Killgrave  [author] 6 Oct @ 1:40pm
Exactly! One photo means no ranking, because ranking always happens in pairs
Sandra Borger 6 Oct @ 12:50pm
Okay! So if you miss a pokemon, you can take the picture of another one from the pokedex, lowering the chances of getting a good rank, got it. So what if you manage to end up with only 1 photo? Does it not rank at all because it says you need two?
Killgrave  [author] 6 Oct @ 12:43pm
if you miss it flees, meaning you lost the photo. zoom action gives you another chance, using your pokemon in your pokedex as a resource for the zoom. Does that make a bit more sense?
Sandra Borger 6 Oct @ 12:20pm
I got that, but I think there are some details missing in the rules book, it's not very clear for me what happens if you miss, how to proceed, what to do with the other pokemon in the pokedex, etc. Could you write how a full "Snap" event would work please?
Killgrave  [author] 6 Oct @ 12:18pm
@sandra, when you roll the action die, if you get a perfect hit you can evolve it! Evolved pokemon help your ranking. Let me know if you have any more specific questions related to it!
Sandra Borger 6 Oct @ 10:38am
Hi awesome mod!! could I get a more detailed explanation about how the Snap thing works? I really don't get it at all or understand what it means by "evolving" the pokemon by taking pictures of it?
Killgrave  [author] 5 Oct @ 8:47am
@fearnall, you can give it to your legacy pokemon anytime outside of battle, if youve withdrawn the pokemon from the slot of course. It does not cost any legacy points to store stuff end of game!
Fearnall 5 Oct @ 8:46am
for example, when can you give your family pokemon the +1 initiative or health bonus, is it any time, or is it only before you bring them out of the legacy slot? and does it cost legacy points to put things into the legacy slots or only to take them out?
Mr. Meseeks 5 Oct @ 7:20am
ahhhh thank you so much! I really appreciate the help!
Killgrave  [author] 5 Oct @ 7:01am
the green check mark means it qualifies to be auto caught/auto defeated. Capture rate is mainly used for pokemon above your obedience level, as pokemon at your obedience level are always auto-caught / auto defeated.
Mr. Meseeks 5 Oct @ 6:31am
Sorry for not understanding, It says pokeball+ a green check mark? and I still dont know what the capture rate really means? I see for the next tier up its 4+(Something?)
Killgrave  [author] 5 Oct @ 6:27am
@mr meseeks, page 9 of the rulebook explains auto-resolving weak encounters, so your first pokemon is just yours for the taking when you find in the wild!
Mr. Meseeks 5 Oct @ 6:12am
I cannot find the capture rate requirements. I see I have no pokemon to start, so the capture rate is 3+ (something?) for capturing pokemon and im confused what that dice thing is im looking for.
Killgrave  [author] 5 Oct @ 4:18am
@fearnall, gym rewards are personal, raid rewards are where everyone gets them. Any specific questions about the legacy system not covered in the Wildlands rulebook?
Fearnall 5 Oct @ 1:21am
also for clarification when in multiplayer does everyone get the gym rewards or just the person who defeats the gym?
Fearnall 5 Oct @ 1:14am
I feel you need to clarify how the legacy stuff works in the manual, I had to go back to your hyperlight campaign manual to understand how some of it worked, and I'm still not entirely sure I've got it right... game is a lot of fun though .. played through a solo campaign earlier today, and it seems a heap harder than hyperlight.
WebbedCircle 4 Oct @ 8:31pm
Oops; It took two badges for me to realize that Wild Pokemon have JP rewards for defeating them listed next to their catch rates.

Also, in as much time, re-read and noticed that gym fights are described as "Typically 2v2 or 2v3" which I assume means you're not supposed to bring your party to those fights; Which seems really painful for fatigue reasons, honestly!

Looking forward to rules updates!
Killgrave  [author] 4 Oct @ 3:53pm
Good call out! Ill tell ppl the limit is 3 moves/abilities to be explicit!
WebbedCircle 4 Oct @ 3:23pm
Yes! Okay, cool! Thanks for the info! And I assume from the way the board's set up that there's a maximum of two bonus moves per mon; And since Abilities occupy a slot, that makes for a max of 3 moves per mon. That should go in the rulebook too; Since classically, pokemon have 4 moves in the games, but the board is set up to have up to three cards where your mons go!

Really lookin forward to playin this thing with my friends; There's a ton of work put into it.
Killgrave  [author] 4 Oct @ 3:15pm
@webbedcircle I need to clarify that better, whenever you defeat a pokemon in the wild you get their signature move like you thought!
WebbedCircle 4 Oct @ 3:10pm
I think the only thing I'm really confused about is whether you get wild pokemon's signature moves by defeating them or not; As it seems like the only reward for defeating a wild pokemon is the apricots on the space, but the "Pokemon Forms" page says

"When defeating a Pokemon in the wild, you can only learn the signature move from the wild pokemon's form at the time it was defeated."

Which seems to imply that you do get their signature move if it matches your type, but nothing else backs this up, as far as I can tell.

Please clarify! Thank you in advance!
Killgrave  [author] 4 Oct @ 2:42pm
If you're playing solo phone has an alternate optional effect, tooltips on poke drone and phone should be all you need let me know if something doesn't make sense!
WebbedCircle 4 Oct @ 2:33pm
Sorry for spam messages! I didn't see any mention of the Phone in the rulebook to explain its effects!

The tooltip, though it explains what happens in multiplayer in some detail; Has mention of a "Pokedrone" which is a term I don't see anywhere else.

Thank you for all that you do.
WebbedCircle 4 Oct @ 2:12pm
@killgrave Gotcha!

I was also trying to look at the rewards for winning wild encounters, but I could only find a general "Rewards for winning a batle" section in the rulebook, which said to look at the tooltip. Wild encounters don't really have a tooltip though! I assume that you get the apricots for defeating/capturing the wild pokemon, and there's also some small section of the book at "Pokemon Forms" which says that you can learn a pokemon's signature move by defeating it, but I'm not totally clear on the mechanics of that!
Killgrave  [author] 4 Oct @ 2:07pm
@webbedcircle very little reason, so you can ignore the weak capture rate :). I should definitely clarify you start at the lab if I didn't in setup!
WebbedCircle 4 Oct @ 1:53pm
Amazing mod! I'm confused on a few things though!

1. Do all players just start on the lab space? I didn't see a thing for where to begin play.

2. It seems like you'll absolutely never have a wild pokemon fight with a weak (Green) pokemon, from beginning to end, since they're Auto-Resolvable and you can't willingly fight those. Is there a reason for them to have a capture rate if you'll never have to roll it?

Just liking, favoriting and commenting to raise awareness for this.

Peak as always.
