@neIVIesis Hey... not trying to step into any disagreements between you and the creators of HflM, as I do agree with your overall goal to reduce asset reuse where possible.

However, I just want to note that removing the anchorman does kinda break the original mod. Getting a quirk from the anchorman was needed to fight the boss they added to the cove, and your replacement mob does not have the ability to give that quirk. Meaning you won't be able to encounter it. Could I suggest that you add the loot code to your crewman to fix this? (loot: .code "DROWNED" .count 1)

Admirable work otherwise :)

@Moon/Void Slime

On second thought I used too strong a language, I'll revise the description to sound less harsh in regards to the Sudden Crew asset flip.

With that said, I agree with you that the game suffers from a lot of asset flipping. It's the very reason that I got into modding this game with my "Regional Enemies" which I intended to do years ago.

As you can see with our previous exchanges, I'm always trying to mitigate this problem of recycling assets through both the game and mods.

I intend to make 3 different versions of each Vanilla Boss as a mod for each level. Each will have having a different look that explains why you face them 3 times. I'm thinking every level they will look more wounded but also more eldricht, as if each defeat removes more of whatever little humanity they had, each time.

And that point I will address the asset flips with Pelagics and Skeletons to use custom models instead.

Just bear with me! :)

"HLM recyles one of the enemies from the Sudden Crew boss battle. This to me is completly inmersion breaking, and frankly a lazy approach to making new enemies."

Then remove skeletons from the necromancer, the pelagics from the hag, and the brigands from the cannon.

Boss enemies summon their minions. Minions show up in normal dungeons.

". In the lore, Formless Flesh hunts and consumes the swine and fought the Swine King almost to the death. So even though it inhabits the Warrens, the swine are terrifed of it. They are not allied factions.

That is 100% made up lore some one stuck on the wiki btw. It's not actually in game nor true.
