In my game i tried this mod and i waited for 2d(in game) time to recycle a ship with no succes...the faction took the ship from me but it was still mine...i could't control it or give any orders but it was green(mine)...finally i decided to use Simons lantern cheat to destroy it because it was blocking the hanger and couldn't build any ship(xl)..Is that an error or i just had to wait even longer for the wares in the shipyard to go down???...I waited quite a lot...hence i figured i say it here...BTW, my ship had captain, engineer and defence officer...

It's possible add the "K" recycle??
Tashine (Da) 20 Jan, 2019 @ 12:31pm
Working for me - Great mod - thank you
darkdog_13 11 Dec, 2018 @ 12:02pm
This mod still works fine but you must make sure the ship you wish to recycle has a captain aboard as it works much like rearming your ship as it will fly to the dock unlike selling which requires no crew and the ship just disappears. The captain on the ship usually ends up on the nearest platform to the shipyard dealer but to be safe just hire a cheap captain and replace them if you really want to keep the current one.

If you try and recycle a ship without a captain the shipyard will be stuck waiting for the ship and you will have to edit your save game to take the ship out of the shipyard.

How long is the recycling?

I ran debugger and this is what I have at the report after the recycling was finished:

Another thing to add is as soon as my phoenix docked in Devries I got the full payout from the deal. But it wasn't recycled and it is still sitting there - under my ownership.
hellgorama 15 Dec, 2017 @ 9:07pm
@jth
I'm having same issue as Dozer - I have the "God Mode for Player Ships and Station" Mod. My case is I sent a captured teladi phoenix to Devries to be recycled. But it is just sitting there in the XL ship bay. Npthing happening. I tried disabling the God mode mod but doesn't seem to do anything. Then I try disabling and re-enabling recycle mod (while having god mode off) and still nothing. It is stuck there. I can't sell the ships and I also cannot issue orders to them.

Please help.
jth  [author] 11 Oct, 2017 @ 4:53am
You can run your own shipyard as a scrap yard in the way that you suggest. It will take a fair number of ship recycles to get enough to build a station with. The bigger the recycled ships the better (L or XL).

It doesn't recycle smaller ships as the amount of materials recovered simply isn't enough to make it worth the efforts coding it.
Wilsonatron 2 Oct, 2017 @ 7:53pm
how does this work for player owned shipyard? obvbiosly you wont get money for the salvage. im thinking of making my first station a shipyard, and make it a sort of scrap yard to make resources to build more stations is it worht doing it this way?
Dozer 29 Jul, 2017 @ 10:22am
thats i tested ;) but nothings go on :)
ist okay
i sell the ships and buy the resource :spazwinky:
jth  [author] 29 Jul, 2017 @ 8:48am
I thought that might be it, The ship still belong to you until most of the way through the recycle process. The recycle process removes the external items and then removes the hull bit by bit and I guess that the God mode stops it reducing the hull to zero, So it never gets to the final stage of paying you for the ship and making it vanish.

A work around would be to turn off God mode for a couple of minutes while ship recycling and then turn it back on later. If you have a recycle in progress then I reckon that disabling God mode is the only way to get it to finish and clear the shipyard bay at the moment. It is God mode breaking this mod rather than the other way around.

Other solutions would need to do things differently when god mode was detected and would probably only work for new recycling
Which god mode mod are you using ?
Dozer 28 Jul, 2017 @ 11:13am
i have these MOD God Mode for Player Ships and Station too.
and when i recycle my ship in my shipyard, then the recycle ship don´t destroy.
They stop at yard an nothing goes on
jth  [author] 28 Jul, 2017 @ 4:21am
What exactly happens/doesn't happen/goes wrong ? How far does it get ? What are the symptoms ? Please either open a new discussion here or post on the Egosoft forum with the info. Thanks

Will take a look when I have a couple of days. Betas are a moving target for fixes, had some of mine broken in the past by a later beta :steamsad: Please post exactly what is going wrong on the Egosoft forum for this mod or open a discussion here and put the info up. Thanks
二凡 23 Mar, 2017 @ 7:06pm
can't work in 4.10 beta :(
jth  [author] 2 Oct, 2016 @ 4:28am
If you want access to the parts you do need your own shipyard, Note that you don't get paid for the ship in your own shipyard as you get the parts.

You can still recycle the ship to an NPC shipyard for which you will be paid and the parts will appear in its storage. The sell to an NPC shipyard pays you and vanishes the ship without putting anything into the shipyards storage.
Colmaniac 1 Oct, 2016 @ 12:20am
I have the mod but havent tried it yet, how do I get the recycled parts? Do I need my own ship yard?
dogshocker 23 Apr, 2016 @ 7:07am
Nice one...works well....useful little mod.
eMYNOCK  [developer] 15 Mar, 2016 @ 5:51pm
Okay... mea culpa... You can scratch that report.

I've accidentally broke something in my own Mods, to be xact i included the Shiptraders into a Mod that depends on my Shipyard Mod (and that messed the whole stuff up).

Should be sorted now.

Sorry for all the Confusion and thanks for the patience.
requiemfang 15 Mar, 2016 @ 1:58pm
yeah, hopefully jth can chime in and help with the issue or fix it all together.
eMYNOCK  [developer] 15 Mar, 2016 @ 1:37pm
Cheers requiem,

probably not the best place for a discussion about the PSE mod but yes, i Updated 3 of my Mods that involve the Ship Dealers from CWIR.

(Updated Ship Dealers from BlackRain).

As in my Mods mentioned, my Mods are primary Based on his Mod.

Because the only file that both Mods share is the NPC_Shipdealer... and me not knowing how to match both Mods User Interface...

Well, we are here now.
requiemfang 15 Mar, 2016 @ 12:55pm
I noticed this as well... EMYNOCK I noticed you updated your combined mod pack and as a result it seems to break this mod or this mod breaks a function in your mod. Either way can't recycle or sell ships now.
eMYNOCK  [developer] 15 Mar, 2016 @ 10:44am
Cheers jth,

i am not longer able to use your Ship Recycle and any Player Shipyard Mod (based on BlackRains Mod) together.

It still works with the slightly outdated Player Shipyards Mod but not with his Updated Ship Dealers from CWIR.

Would be sweet if both were working together again.

Regards

Hi [OCN] Mandrid

I have revisited the sums and version 0.04 and 0.05 were indeed too generous.

I have rebalanced the mod and fixed a few other bits and pieces ready for the release of 4.00. It was released as version 0.06 this afternoon

Hi [OCN] Mandrid

Its not as cut and dried as it looks. My full answer was too long for here so I posted it on the support forum

I think this is a great idea to restock materials into shipyards. But it makes no sense that you can sell a ship for say 10 million, or recycle it for 15 million plus giving the materials to the station.

If anything, if selling gives you 10 million, then recycling should only get you 50-75% of the ship's value. Not 150%. Because now there's no reason to ever sell a ship the vanilla way.

11 Jan 2016 Released v0.05
Fixed failure to recycle any ships when there was zero energycells or foodrations on the shipyard which will happen with a brand new player shipyard

Thanks for reporting this reaperxvii and doing some investigation for me. jth
Reaperxvii 10 Jan, 2016 @ 3:48pm
Hermes was a standard scaldis but I'll test on other ships :) (also I'll report the forums for now on! )
jth  [author] 10 Jan, 2016 @ 3:45am
It should recycle ships on Player Owned Shipyards that was why BlackRain asked me to write it.

Sounds like it doesn't like the Hermes does it do a Rahanas OK ?

For bug reporting please can you post on the Egosoft forum it allows for bigger messages, the url is above. Thanks jth
Reaperxvii 9 Jan, 2016 @ 2:04am
@ JTH - I'm not sure if youre supposed to be able to, but you can't recycle ships at a Player Owned Shipyard, it just gives these errors

[gamestart: 1] - [01/09/16 09:59:54]: Error: shiprecycle_menu_cost Recycling - Hermes

[gamestart: 1] - [01/09/16 09:59:54]: Error: Error while executing onEvent script for event: showShipRecycle_CostMenu.

14 Dec 2015 Released v0.04
jth  [author] 28 Apr, 2015 @ 9:48am
It may be that Fusion Reactors gets used too quick to see but if you want to know for sure then run it in debug mode (see readme.txt). The log file has a line for what you get back from recycling each ship and it also has a before and after line for the ware levels on the shipyard. I hope that it all adds up otherwise you might need to send in the auditors :-)
Jakesnake5 8 Apr, 2015 @ 6:55am
Something odd.

I know Balors have Fusion Reactors in their construction. However, recycling them doesn't add any to the shipyard (DeVries) which is chronically short all the time.
jth  [author] 22 Mar, 2015 @ 11:21am
Just released v0.02
now creates re-hireable NPC instead of using boarding pods
jth  [author] 4 Jan, 2015 @ 10:45am
You have to talk to the L ship dealer to recycle a Rahanas as its a size L ship. If there is something building in the L ship dealers cradle then you need to get it to finish (by providing the materials it needs), unfortunately blowing up the partially created ship doesn't work (as satisfying as it is).

The Taranis worked as its an XL ship, the XL cradle was empty and you talked to an XL ship dealer.
Pex_-HUN-_ 4 Jan, 2015 @ 8:38am
@OZZO: Dude, read back few posts!
OZZO 4 Jan, 2015 @ 5:07am
Hi! If I recycle ship, I get the materials, right?
Pex_-HUN-_ 3 Jan, 2015 @ 3:31am
I did what you suggested, destroyed the ship frame in the construction crate. Tried the recycle opration again, but still, got the same error: "ship doesn't fit in my dock". However, I see that the destroyed ship wreckage is still in the crate. Maybe this is the reason? The other, bigger XL size crate is emtpy, so I tried to recycle the boarded Tanaris. It succeed. But I can't recycle Rahanas, as you did. (due to the reason I described)
Troll 2 Jan, 2015 @ 6:26pm
Check that there isn't a ship in construction in the L dock.My guess is something is being built and stops you from using the dock.

As for the NPC ship construction being stuck, it simply comes from the fact that DeVries is an system with broken economy so they don't get all materials for ship building in store. Hence the ships stagnating at a certain % built and never going on.
Using the recycle option, you restock components needed to build the ships, letting the construction continue.

Something I tested and worked was to destroy the ship 'frame' from a ship in construction and stuck from lack of materials. I destroyed it without incurring rep loss, and it did free the L dock.
Pex_-HUN-_ 2 Jan, 2015 @ 5:02pm
Ok, Thanks Troll. However, I tried to recycle a bulk Rahanas freighter, in Darned Hot Air in DeVries. There are 3 ship dealers here. An XL, L and small ship deler. I see the "Sell or recycle" menu in XL ship dealer's conversation, but when I try to recycle the Rahanas, mod says: Unable to recycle - your ship does not fit in my dock. Then when I tried to recycle at L class ship dealer, I didn't see "sell or recycle" option.

So, in there XL ship dealer can't recycle due to ship doesn't fit in his dock, L ship dealer not showing his can modify, sell/recycle in his menu. Small ship dealer for recycling is not available in this mod yet. So what can I do?

Also what you mentioned Troll, that it could unstuck NPC ship contruction, for me I don't see it can happen.

Any help please?
Troll 2 Jan, 2015 @ 1:40pm
@Pimpace : basically all parts go the to SY stock when used on an NPC SY. It is perfect to unstuck ships being built with no more ressources on SY, be it for more shipbuilding or accessing SY functions such as rearming or drone loading.

It allowed me to force complete a NPC construction vessel stuck at 0%, and finally get access to the SY for drone purchases for example.
Pex_-HUN-_ 2 Jan, 2015 @ 6:49am
Dude, I'm sorry, I bit confused. Recycling the ship part, to where? You mentioned the description that if not a player-shipyard then you will get the money as if you sold the ship. But where to go the recycled parts then?

Also, if it recycled in a player-shpyard, then you wont get money but all the parts, due to you can get them from your station(shipyard)?

Sorry Mate, but your description not quite understandable. However, I admit this is a great idea, and mod.
Troll 28 Dec, 2014 @ 7:07am
Many thanks for this mod.
You really spared me hours of trading boredom trying to supply the Canteran SY with materials.
I already had a Light Sul and 2 Rahanas (container) capped which I recycled. It unstuck the NPC Construction ship and allowed me to finally access the SY and do some repairs and drone loading.

Now boarding is really a good way to salvage broken economy.
jth  [author] 23 Dec, 2014 @ 6:41am
You are quite right the shipyard gets the resources and then you can't get them back off into a CV even if you own the shipyard.

Thanks for clarifying what you want to do, I hadn't thought of doing that :) The wares do overlap but the quantities are not great. The shields and weapons are probably usable too.

A 100% Rahanas container ship produces 7 Wares, Bio-Optic Wiring - 98, Fusion Reactors - 18, Podkletnov Generators - 22, Microchips - 86, Plasma Flow Regulators - 16, Reinforced Metal Plating - 48, Scanning Array - 44

Will give what you want to achieve some thought
