The portal is super important. That’s where you find the “Vessels Bloom”—these flowers are tied to Abaddon. On the surface, they seem like gifts of respect, but really they act as a seal, keeping Abaddon’s rage and destruction contained in that dimension. Given by otherworldly entities to Abaddon. If the portal opens into our world, he and his soldiers could cause chaos and death. (Creatures found in the sewer) The only way to stop it for good is to close the portal AND complete the ritual sacrifice, which completely banishes Abaddon and his lesser legions.
So yeah, Amalie was real, and the portal is all about containing Abaddon and reversing this disaster.
I enjoyed the story but got confused towards the end. Like was Amalie real, or just part of a fairy tale? The note was hard to read, and if she was real, what happened to her? Also, what happened in the portal? That part was unclear. I'd love the story explained to me in case i missed something.
The gameplay was solid overall. Most puzzles were easy, except for a few. The monsters were never hard to avoid, except in the sewers, where they were annoying. The room design was well done, and the atmosphere was great.
Overall, I give it a 7.5/10. Excited to play the second mod when it's available!
Very good job for a first mod, yet the vanilla feel is what lets it down. Grunts, suitors and brutes feel really stale. However, the parts with more custom assets compensated for it - Amadeus part was the highlight of the mod for me, and you should definetely focus to make something in a similar fashion. Was not particularly scary to me, a frictional games veteran, and machinery puzzle honestly nearly made me ragequit - it could do with a touch of less cryptic hints.
Overall, amazing for a first mod, keep up the good work ^^.
