Love the idea behind the mod but I cant really think of an explanation of how the fuck tanything s being delivered.

You can find money just the same as base game, in cash registers, in purses, etc. You can also attempt to guess the PIN for credit cards you find at ATMs for money. There are other mods that add money to zombie bodies, as an additional way to find more money. This mod won't have a selling aspect to it, there are economy mods that allow buying and selling, and Mail Order Catalogs has integration patches for several of them.

You should make the mod like Zamazon. That mod was amazing. But once the stable release of b42 comes out nothing is going to work again.

Where do you get money if you can't sell items?
melodelic 4 Sep @ 6:25pm
Ah! Thank you! It'll save me from having to dump all the extra credit cards in the trash!

I've patched the issue causing that duplication, its a minor issue, so I won't be releasing a hotfix, but I will hopefully be releasing a large compatibility patch tomorrow that will include the fix.

Interesting, I will take a look and see if I can replicate this issue

So, I've noticed a weird bug that if I have the credit card that spawns with Mail Order Catalog somewhere other than the main inventory (like in a bag, wallet, fanny pack, etc.) it will infinitely duplicate itself.

OK, yeah the base game catalogs were added in build 42. I will go through the catalogs and triple check them again.

i found one for zacs hardware. I'm on b41 though and I had never seen a catalog before installing this mod so I'm pretty sure those vanilla catalogs are b42 only
Jusblazm  [author] 27 Aug @ 8:22am
Just to be sure, what catalog did you find? Unfortunately, there are some base game catalogs and my mod doesn't currently interact with them.

I found a catalog but it didn't add a site to my quick access list. For now I'm just sat down guessing URLs but it's taking a while, so I made a discussion to help other players that might be having the same problem.

At the very least, I will check it out to ensure compatibility between PZLinux and Mail Order Catalogs, so that players can use both, just as I've done for S4 Economy and Computers.

Your mod have some similarities with "B42 PZLinux [BETA]" mod
You should check it out, maybe get more ideas out of it

if it helps, only the exclusion zone had telecommunications cut, which means they still work in Louisville. some things, like instant delivery, just "work" at the moment in the mod. I have future plans for addressing phone lines / internet usage for this mod later. It'll all be optional via sandbox options, so that if people want it to just work, they can, and if people want to go through a story, they can.

the fact that internet work on telephones in the 90s and having the knox county telephone lines cut this mod gives me discomfort to my brain

ZBAY was not on my radar, because it's b41 and I only play b42. I'll say at the end of the day, the difference is my mod being more lore friendly as ebay wasn't created until 1995.

From looking at the workshop page for ZBAY, it has some functionality I was planning to add, however I have no plans to add a handful of its functionality including selling items and gambling. Some of the comments also say you need to be in a house with a mailbox. Where Mail Order Catalogs currently uses a moveable cardboard box that will continue to accept deliveries after being moved.
S4 Economy, however, came onto my radar a while after I started working on this mod, which looks like the B42 version of ZBAY, now that I know of ZBAY. Aside from the same aforementioned functionality of ZBAY, S4 Economy relies on players creating websites for themselves to buy from. Mail Order Catalogs comes with shops, will continue to get more shops, and has an easy format for modders to create their own as well.

how doe this differ in function from the ZBAY mod created by GIK? it seems functionally identical

Sorry, @Kable, it's not really feasible to do so. The hacking relies on the core of this mod to function, which is why it is a part of this mod and not my Hacking Skill mod. I would have to strip the core out, create a utility mod like so many other creators do, then there would be 3 mods instead of just this one. If you're by chance not wanting the ATM hacking, I am currently working on a Sandbox Variable to disable it. Mostly so that Build 41 servers don't have to worry about people stealing other people's credit cards. If you are only interested in the ATM hacking, I apologize, it will likely always be a part of this mod.
Kable 25 Aug @ 1:10am
Is there a chance you could separate the ATM hacking into a separate mod please ?
