so this is my first time modding MCC, given it has a steam workshop I assume it's as plug and play as any other steam game. I quickly figured out I have to launch it in anti cheat off mode, that's easy enough, but when I try to load either PoA or Halo from this mod the loading screen reaches the end but never actually starts the mission.

I fresh installed MCC to play this mod, it did this both on an HDD and an SSD. I am curious if anyone else has had this issue and if so then how does one go about fixing it because I really do want to try this mod.

People love and rave about mods like New Covenant, Mythic, etc. I get it, but they really don’t appeal to me. They’re incredibly unpolished, constantly meandering, and things that, for me, work only as something to dabble in for a little fun for maybe a level (no hate to those mods or their creators - I want mods and more mods, everyone doing anything they want! They’re just not quite my style). But this? This is incredibly cool shit. Such a great balance of old and new, and in a way that feels fresh and familiar - all with a good deal of polish. The gameplay is solid, everything feels like it belongs, and it accentuates the Flood’s best aspects quite well.

I think this is really cool, and I can’t wait to see more of it. I do think there’s a bit of a quality gap between POA and Alpha Halo - but to be fair, I think that might be unavoidable given the nature of the levels. Alpha Halo is not a level that lends itself to the Flood in the same way as POA, and I think everything else done to alter the atmosphere is a great way to compensate. I’d describe the difference as that POA is genuinely one of the most unique Halo experiences I’ve ever had, and Alpha Halo is a cool mod. It’s not to say any of it is bad, just that POA is such an incredibly tight, unnerving, and unique experience that I think other levels will have a hard time living up to it.

10.)In fact, the soundtrack in the beginning cutscene is exactly the vibe needed at the end of POA.
11.)The rainy night atmosphere is great.
12.)Uh... ok... first group of survivors, and uh, two things: it felt a bit meandering, and... weird that Cortana seems to actually be with Chief now?
13.)I personally think the SMG needs a new firing sound.
14.)I ended up playing most of this level on-foot, which I've never really done before, and it really added to the vibe.

6.)The atmosphere is 10/10. Frantically switching my weapons, being afraid to turn around because the Flood seem to come from every direction, just... wow...
7.)The flashlight is more of a mechanic than any real Halo title ever made it, which is very cool. I actually had a moment where my flashlight battery died, and I had to rely on plasma bolts to light my path for a moment.
8.)A melee to open a broken door is such a fun way to rely on knowledge of the base game in a new way.
9.)The ending cutscene is well-served by a lack of much music in its beginning, but by not kicking into something during the crash it really starts to feel unpolished and odd. It doesn't have to be as bombastic and heroic as the original, but it needs something more than it has right now.

POA:
1.)From the start, I love how much this respects CE's aesthetic. A lot of mods are, frankly, quite ugly - oversaturated textures and/or lighting, changes made for the sake of change, etc. I also like that it respects the fact that the player has absolutely played CE a million times, and gets to the meat of everything more quickly.
2.)Some of the new dialogue (that is not over the radio) is a bit loud, I feel.
3.)here were minor issues with subtitles simply listing the sound file path.
4.)The Flood reveal is great - it leans into the confusion and mystery, all while keeping a fast pace out of recognition that the player knows the Flood are coming. It manages to be succinct, yet to have the right vibes.
5.)Holy shit, the tight corridors of the POA make the Flood particularly terrifying. Walking into one of the access hallways, turning the corner, and having a carrier blow up in my face actually made me jump. Well done.

second mission isn't even complete, you can tell by the lack of custom dialog. right now it is the original release of the mod. there is a lot of work to be done.

mod is cool, but second mission doesnt have any checkpoints after the last one before you exit the tunnel to rescue survivors. Since this mod for whatever reason like having grenades go off under you in vehicles randomly and kill you I have to restart the whole thing over again. Then the second survivors you have to rescue on that ledge, nothing spawns, no checkpoints or anything. Can't finish mission because of it.

God I love this mod. Lotta love and time put into this, looking forward to more updates. To echo Vector, the 2nd level was not bugged but there was a few weird things. One, the first holdout group you encounter after crash landing did not get picked up for. I snagged the warthog and 2 helpful marines and then beat everything and got no mission update or anything. I made them get out and they retreated to the structure with everyone else which then gave me the go save other squads update and I heard the escape pods in the air although did not see them. But the squad didn't get picked up. Besides that, there was once or twice where a combat form would be aimlessly wandering or standing still and hold up a holdout area until I found them. No bugs besides that though

This was challenging and fun. I can only play halo on Legendary and I did get flooded a few times. Fantastic enemy placement.
