when a mod is disabled (specially texture related), it don't remove and replace textures [files], it just tell the game to use texture Y (mod) instead of X (original)
and when you disable or uninstall the mod and start a clean save, the game won't recognize Y (since it's disabled) and will normally use X.

the cape is saved on player entity in world file, so the player will have the changed cape color if you disable the mod mid-run - it's expected, but it shouldn't suddenly recolor the cape into something else

it might be removing a texture file that isnt being replaced upon deletion

the mod literally can't do anything if it's disabled though?

Causes a bug where, when uninstalled or disabled, turns your characters cape fully red. this bug also overrides any modded skin cape despite the mod being disabled/uninstalled
