Thanks a lot! Actually, I’ve already managed to finish a working mod that adds more vanguards, but there’s a huge issue with compatibility, so I haven't published it yet.
You see, the game values are usually hardcoded (they use the value “3” instead of something like a “vanguardsCount” variable). To make the mod work, I had to replace about half of the game files. Because of that, this mod is simply not compatible with literally anything else.
That’s why I’m now working on a custom mod loader that solves this problem once and for all. Instead of relying on file replacements, it replaces specific code fragments. It’s almost done, so once I polish it (and then update everything to 1.6), I’ll share it here :D
Don't give up bro, you can do it.
Даже квестовых офицеров толпа, но увы на берег сходят только трое..
1. GUI. Imagine having to scroll through 8 vanguard slots just to check your other seats. I don't feel like it's comfortable, so I’m considering a more compact redesign for this window.
2. Balance. While 5 vanguards shouldn’t disrupt vanilla gameplay, I think 8 definitely would, since every fight would become too easy. Maybe I just need to add a modmenu option so players can choose 😁
Imagine taking 8 vanguards to Tayasal. XD
